3. Section Three: Installation Considerations
WARNING! Fiber cables transmit invisible infrared light. To avoid eye damage or blindness, never look
directly into fibers or connectors.
CAUTION! These instructions presume you have verified the Amphenol-Network Solutions
equipment being installed is compatible with the rest of the system including power, ground, circuit
protection, signal characteristics, equipment from other vendors, and local codes or ordinances.
ALERT! This product must be installed and maintained only by qualified technicians.
ALERT! Install this system according to company requirements. It is recommended to install the
system in a Restricted Access Location (RAL) where access is limited through the use of tool, lock
and key, or other means of security and be controlled by the authority responsible for the location.
ALERT! Prior to Splice Drawer installation, ensure there is enough space in front and rear to access
cabling.
ALERT! Only use components and crimping tools approved by agencies or certifying bodies
recognized in your country or region, such as Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL), TIA, etc.

3.3 Installation Guidelines
•Elevated Operating Ambient Temperature: If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the
operating ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than room ambient. Consider
installing the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum ambient temperature (Tma)
specified by the manufacturer.
•Mechanical Loading: Avoid uneven mechanical loading in the rack. This can cause hazardous
situations.
•Reliable Earthing: Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained. Attention
should be given to supply connections other than direct connections to the branch circuit (e.g., use of
power strips).
3.4 Location and Space
INFINX SPLICE Wall Frame requires enough space in front and sides for easy access. Leave as much side
clearance for tray and Splice Drawer removal and worker access as required by your application or local
regulations. Choose a location in compliance with local operating company requirements.
3.5 Tools and Equipment
The following lists comprises the tools that may be needed to install and maintain the INFINX SPLICE
Platform:
•Pencil or Marking Pen
•Masking Tape
•Tape Measurer
•Horizontal and Plumb Level
•Rubber mallet Flathead screwdriver
•Sockets (5/16” and 7/16”)
•Drill (with metal or concrete bits)
•Utility knife
•Scissors
•Phillips 6” long screwdriver (#1 and #2)
•Safety glasses
•Gloves
4. Section Four: Wall Mount Frame Installation (Dual Frame
Shown)
4.1 Installing the Wall Mount Bracket
1. We recommended that the bottom of the frame be mounted approx. 3’ above the floor to allow adequate
space for the OSP cable to be prepped and routed (this will vary bases on location and customer

preference). The recommended height makes the mounting height of the top Horizontal Hanger 8’ 6” from
the floor. Use the horizontal hanger as your hole location template.
2. Using a level, mount the top Horizontal Hanger at desired location using 3/8”-1/2” lag bolts for wood or
3/8”-1/2” concrete anchors for cinder block or concrete (hardware is NOT included). The Horizontal
hangers will have the channel on the bottom to allow the frame to mount.
