Getting Cozmo ready to roll for the
first time takes just 4 easy steps.
Let’s do this.
Everything you need is inside the box.
Well, everything but your mobile device* with the Cozmo app.
Because that would be weird, if your device was somehow in this
box. But you should go and grab it. You’ll need it every time you
play with Cozmo.

1. Help Cozmo feel at home.
Cozmo’s at his best on clean, flat surfaces. He also
likes to have space to move around. So if you keep
him towards the center of an open table, it’ll be a
lot easier to see each other face-to-face. Edges
are both exciting and scary for Cozmo, so the first
time he operates, give him a little space and watch
him as he navigates.
Although if the room is dark, he may not see you
at all. (Hey, he’s a robot not an owl.) And just like you,
if blinded with direct sunlight he’ll be seeing spots.
That’s one reason why indoors is the ideal place
for Cozmo. Another reason is that there’s some
serious engineering going on inside that little guy,
and dirt and water don’t do him any favors.

*Cozmo gets 1-2 hours of play time and charges
from empty to full in 10 minutes.
2. Power up.
Make sure the charger is on the table and plugged in.
Place Cozmo on his charger. He feels most secure at
home before you start the app. And if you’re going to
take him elsewhere for extended play, remember to
bring the charger with you. We all need some- where
to recharge and refresh, and this is Cozmo’s favorite
place whenever he feels like he needs a little me-
time*.
Do not use the Robot while charging(the Robot would not
cause any transmission during the charging mode).

3. Download the app.
Once you’ve got Cozmo set up in his charger,
go to your favorite app store (be it Apple, Google
Play, or Kindle) and type “Cozmo Robot”in the
search box. Then, download the Cozmo app and
follow the simple on-screen prompts. Your
compatible mobile device* with the app up and
running is all you need to keep Cozmo rolling.

4. Get rolling.

A few last words on keeping
Cozmo healthy and happy.
Cozmo’s got his own moves, and he likes to move in his own way. So try
not to push him, or force his lift. He might get a little fussy.
Cozmo’s an explorer, and his treads are what enable him to get around so
well. The cleaner you can keep them, the better his traction and mobility
will be. Not to mention his dance moves.
Here's a little exercise: Imagine apool, a sink, a tub, a toilet bowl, a spilled
Slurpee. Now imagine them each in a red circle with a line through it. Water
+Cozmo =no bueno.
Finally, whenever you’re done playing with Cozmo, make sure he’s back
home on his charger. This is his happy place. In fact, if you ever run into
any issues with Cozmo, there’s a good chance a little quality charger time
will take care of everything.

Cozmo is built tough with no user serviceable parts, though, it is important to
keep the sensors clean for optimal performance.
CAMERA / CLIFF SENSOR
Lightly wipe Cozmo’s sensors (located on his face plate and chest) with a lint-
free cloth to remove any smudges or debris.
POWER CUBE BATTERIES
CAUTION - Only those 8 years and older should replace Power Cube
batteries.
To replace Power Cube batteries, please follow these steps:
1. Position Power Cube such that phillips screw is on top.
2. Loosen self-retaining screw using a phillips head screw driver (not
included).
3. Open cover and remove battery.
4. Replace battery with only 1.5 volt Ntype (910 LR1 1.5V, or E90 LR1 1.5V)
positive (+) side up (toward cover).
5. Replace cover and tighten screw.
6. Lights will flash indicating that the battery is good and has been installed
correctly.

Each Cozmo has a lithium polymer battery, which should only be recharged
using the included power cord and charging platform. Attempting to remove

POWER CUBE-BATTERIEN
So wechseln Sie die Batterien des Power Cube:
1. Drehen Sie den Power Cube so, dass sich die Kreuzschlitzschraube
oben befindet.
2. Lösen Sie die selbsthaltende Schraube mit einem geeigneten
Schraubendreher (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten).
3. Öffnen Sie die Abdeckung und entnehmen Sie die Batterie.
4. Setzen Sie eine neue Batterie mit 1,5Volt (Typ Lady–910 LR1 1.5V
oder E90 LR1 1.5V) so ein, dass der positive Pol (+) nach oben (zur
Abdeckung hin) zeigt.
5. Bringen Sie die Abdeckung wieder an und ziehen Sie die Schraube
an.
6. Wenn die Batterie einwandfrei funktioniert und korrekt eingesetzt
wurde, wird dies durch Blinken bestätigt.

GROUPE AMPLIFICATEUR DE PUISSANCE
Pour remplacer les piles du Power Cube, suivez les étapes suivantes :
1. Positionnez le Power Cube de façon $"ce que la vis cruciforme soit
située au-dessus.
2. Desserrez la vis imperdable $"l'aide d'un tournevis cruciforme (non
inclus).
3. Ouvrez le couvercle et retirez la pile.
4. Remplacez-la exclusivement par une pile 1,5 volt de type N(910
LR1 1,5 V ou E90 LR1 1,5 V), le côté positif (+) vers le haut (vers le
couvercle).
5. Remettez en place le couvercle et serrez la vis.
6. Les voyants clignoteront pour indiquer que la pile est bonne et a été
