digital infrared non-touch thermometer! e ARC
InstaTemp is a digital non-touch thermometer that
measures and displays human body temperature. is
device is intended for use by responsible adults at
home.
NOTE: PLEASE READ PRECAUTIONS BEFORE
OPERATING ARC InstaTemp
To ensure the best results with your ARC InstaTemp
thermometer, please be sure to read the following
operational and procedural manual carefully. If you
give this device to another adult, it is vital that you also
pass on this user manual.
e ARC InstaTemp is a sophisticated technologically
advanced electronic medical device that has been
carefully engineered to quickly and accurately measure
human body temperature without requiring any contact
with the human body. Do not use this device for any
other purpose.

GETTING TO KNOW
e ARC InstaTemp™

ARC InstaTemp is set to Fahrenheit by default. To
change to Celsius, follow these simple steps:
Press and release the activation button to get a reading.
Once the reading appears on screen in Fahrenheit,
press and release the activation button again —the
reading will automatically change to Celsius. Repeat to
change back.

Remove protective label prior to

Ensure that the person has been
in the room for 20 minutes.
Do not measure the person’s
temperature immediately aer
he/she has been exposed to really
cold or hot climates, or has drunk
a hot or cold liquid as it may
temporarily change the surface
temperature of the skin. In these
instances, wait 20 minutes before
taking a temperature reading
Do not touch the lens of the
sensor. It is the most delicate

Point the thermometer at the person as
shown below. Ensure the device is 0.5-1.25
ins (1-3 cm) from the forehead, above the
eyebrows and between the eyes.
ARC InstaTemp must be held steady, perpendicular
to and pointing directly at the center of the forehead
at the area above the eyebrows and between the eyes
when taking a temperature.
Hold the ARC InstaTemp in position, and press
and release the activation button once. Hold the
thermometer in position until the display is illuminated
and a temperature reading is displayed on the screen.

Should you wish to take a second reading, wait for 5

This indicates an invalid
reading. This is due to incorrect
usage, such as:
• trying to measure a
temperature when the ambient
temperature is outside the
operating temperature range.
• temperature measurement
failed due to too much
movement by the operator or
patient. Wait 15 seconds and
repeat the temperature.

measurement as described in
the section titled “Taking the
Temperature”.

Pull the hood of the case back.
Remove the device by holding
it on its sides, and slide it into
the case, such that the LCD
screen is slightly visible.
Do not touch the sensor.
Cover with the hood and store
in a dry place.

e wall mount can be attached to any smooth
vertical surface using its adhesive pad on the
rear of the wall mount. Because it is magnetic,
the wall mount can also be attached to any metal
surface. e internal magnet also keeps the ARC
InstaTemp gently attached to the wall mount.

Essential safety steps to be read
and noted before use:
• Read this manual and always follow the instructions
as specied when using the ARC InstaTemp.
• is product is intended for home use only. Using
this thermometer is not a substitute for consulting
your physician.
• e ARC InstaTemp and the person must remain in
a stable climate for at least 20 minutes before a reading
can be taken. Do not measure the person’s temperature
immediately aer he/she has been exposed to really
cold or hot climates, or has drunk a hot or cold drink.
In these instances, wait 20 minutes before taking a
temperature reading. Do not apply any hot or cold
compress, cloth or gel based, on the person’s forehead
prior to the measurement for at least 20 minutes.
• Do not drop, tap or shake the ARC InstaTemp
thermometer. It is a precision device and any damage
may result in an inaccurate reading.
• e temperature in the forehead area diers from the
internal temperature, which is taken orally or rectally.
Vasoconstriction, an eect which constricts the blood
vessels and cools the skin, can occur in the early stages
of a fever. In this case the person’s temperature may be
unusually low.
• Only use the ARC InstaTemp in climate
temperatures ranging from 50-104°F (10-40°C).
PRECAUTIONS

Outside of this range a “---“ will be displayed when a
measurement is taken, repeat the measurement inside
the 50-104°F (10-40°C) range aer waiting at least
20 minutes. Do not subject the ARC InstaTemp to
temperatures above 104°F (40°C) or below 45°F (7°C).
• Do not use outside or close to a heat or cooling
source. Using the thermometer in these conditions
may aect the accuracy of the temperature reading.
• Do not allow the ARC InstaTemp thermometer to
become damp or immersed in water or other liquids.
• Do not touch the lens of the infrared sensor. e
sensor is the most important and sensitive part of the
device.
• Do not attempt to measure body temperature with
the thermometer if:
a) e thermometer has been exposed
extreme conditions.
b) It has been exposed to electric current or
electromagnetic elds.
c) It has been exposed to moisture.
d) It has been dropped or shows any signs of
damage or malfunction.
e) If there is any visible dust or dirt on the device
lens or in the device lens opening.
• Do not attempt to x or repair the thermometer
yourself.

•Do not attempt to replace the internal batteries, e
internal batteries are non-removable, non-replaceable
and non-serviceable.
• Do not open the thermometer casing.
•If the device touches or comes in contact with the
person:
a) Do not take a measurement for 5 minutes,
b) Check the device lens and opening for
contaminants,
c) To clean the device please use a standard IPA
wipe.
Do not touch the lens of the sensor.
It is the most delicate part of the
ARC InstaTemp thermometer and
must be protected from dirt and
damage.

Do not immerse the ARC
InstaTemp in water or other
liquids. It is not water resistant.
Take care not to scratch
the lens of the sensor,
the display or the housing.
Never use aggressive
cleaning agents.
Clean the thermometer using an
IPA wipe.

DISPOSAL

separately from household waste.
Please note this product contains
batteries and magnets and therefore
must be disposed of according
to local laws and regulations. Do not dispose of
this product in a re as batteries may explode when
exposed to excessive heat.
When this product reaches its end of life, take it to a
collection point designated by local authorities. Some
collection points accept products for free.
e separate collection and recycling of your product
at the time of disposal will help conserve natural
resources and ensure that it is recycled in a manner
that protects human health and the environment.
Consult your municipal authority or your dealer for
information about disposal.
