lowcancausedamagetothebatteryresultinginreducedpower,flightdurationor

LiPocellsshouldnotbedischargedtobelow3.0Veachunderload.Inthecaseofthe
1‐Cell/1S3.7VLiPobatteryusedtopowertheUltra‐MicroMD500DCX100youwill
notwanttoallowthebatterytofallbelow3.0Vduringflight.
The5‐in‐1controlunitfeaturesasoftlowvoltagecutoff(LVC)thatsmoothlyreduces
powertothemotors(regardlessofthepowerlevelyouhavesetwiththeleft‐
hand/throttlestick)toletyouknowthevoltageofthebatteryisclosetothe3.0V
minimum.However,evenbeforethisreductioninpower,ifyoufindthatmorethan
thetypicalamountofthrottle/powerisrequiredtohoverand/orthehelicopterwill
notascend/climbevenatfullpoweryoushouldlandthemodelanddisconnectthe
batteryimmediatelytopreventover‐discharge.
AndwhileitispossibletopowerthemodelupandflyagainafterthesoftLVCoccurs,
thisisNOTrecommended.Continueddischargingcanresultinreachingthe2.5Vhard
cutoffwhichmaycausepermanentdamagetotheLiPobatteryresultinginlost
powerandflightdurationduringsubsequentfights(orfailureofthebattery
entirely).
Also,itisnotrecommendedthatyouflytothesoftLVCeverytimeyoufly.Instead
youshouldbeawareofthepowerlevelofthebattery/helicopterthroughoutthe
flight,andifatanytimethehelicopterbeginstorequiremorethrottle/powerthan
typicaltomaintainhover,and/orwillnotascend/climbevenatfullpower,you
shouldlandthehelicopteranddisconnecttheLiPobatteryimmediately.Constantly
dischargingthebatterytothesoftLVCcanstillcausepermanentdamagetothe
batterysoit’sbesttouseatimerorstop‐watchtotimethedurationofyourflights
andtostopflyingatareasonabletimebeforethesoftLVCisreached.
