CONSTRUCTION FEATURES
The product is designed to ensure maximum energy saving without compromising final user comfort: the promise is to deliver
domestic hot water regardless the external conditions. Therefore the heat pump group preferably works without the electric
group aid; the heating resistance is switched on only when strictly necessary in order to reach the desired set point temperature
in time; the main board controls the heat pump and resistance state and determines when they shall be
switched on or off. The split configuration ensures space saving and noise isolation; moreover its layout avoids cooling
effect, ventilation constraints and permeability problems.

THERMODYNAMIC CYCLE
The heat pump water heater does not
directly heat water using electrical energy,
but makes a more rational use of the latter
to obtain the same result in a more efficient
manner, namely by consuming approx. 2/3
less water.
The efficiency of a heat pump cycle is
measured by the oefficient of Performance
( OP), i.e. the ratio between the energy
supplied to the appliance (in this case, the
heat transferred to the water to be heated)
and the electrical energy used (by the
compressor and the appliance's auxiliary
devices). The OP varies according to the
type of heat pump and to its relative
conditions of operation.
For example, a OP value equal to 3
indicates that for every 1 kWh of electrical
energy used, the heat pump supplies 3 kWh
of heat to the medium to be heated, of
which 2 kWh are extracted from the free
source.

Inhales the gas from the evaporator and compresses it in the
condenser. Because of the job of compression, the vapor goes out of
the compressor with more pressure and strongly overheated.
Maintain the conditions of operation of the compressor within the
parameters brought in chart, if not respected, not only the
performances won't be optimal, but it could present malfunctions and
shortening of the life of the compressor.

The followings conditions are considered possible cause of risks:
• In the case of high or low tension with high ambient temperature (ex. 43° )
• Return of fluid in liquid phase in the compressor.
• Filling of the filter dehydrator.
Pipe stress: the copper pipeline in outlet of the compressor is subject to vibrations. To avoid breakups, the
constructor applies an insulating material that limits the oscillations (damper), make sure it is entire and is
not altered during maintenance/operations.

Dehydrat r filter (*)
The filter has two functions:
1 - absorbs the contaminants of the circuit as water and acid,
2 - makes a physical filtering.
The ability to remove the water from the circuit is the principal function of the filter.

Therm static valve (*)
Mainly constituted by a body valve, a capillary pipe and a bulb. The body valve is
installed on the pipeline of the gas before the evaporator, and the bulb is
positioned on the outlet pipe of the evaporator. the valve of lamination has the
assignment to reduce the pressure of the R134a. It causes sudden expansion with
change of state: the liquid begins to evaporate. The complete evaporation
happens in the evaporator and so the cycle is closed.
Evap rat r (*)
Inside the evaporator the fluid completes the passage of is from liquid to
vapor.
Evaporating absorbs heat from the air. The air "warm" taken by the
environment is carried on the evaporator through a fan. The air crossing
the evaporator heats the fluid. This air "cold" is expelled through the exit
of the air.

In case of errors of the sensors, excluding other possible causes, verify the correct tuning of the sensors measuring the value of
resistance at the terminals, with different values of temperature, and compare, it with the value brought in the chart below.
The hot water sensor measures the real temperature of the water available for picking from the reservoir.

F ur ways valve (*)
It is the valve that actives the DEFROST process, it canalizes the fluid overheated
coming from the compressor in the evaporator through a capillary, in order to heat
the evaporator and melt the ice that clogged it.
The valve, is magnetically opened by the spool that receives the electric signal from
the electronic card "mainboard."
During the normal heating cycle, the valve is OFF, the alimentation occurs only in
Defrost cycle.
Refrigerant fluid R-134 a
The heat transfer is materially effectuated by refrigerant fluid that circulates within the circuit, called circuit refrigerator.
A refrigerant fluid has therefore the characteristic to absorb heat, evaporating on reduced temperatures and, subsequently,
gives this heat condensing to a temperature and a more elevated pressure.
The refrigerant fluid circulates inside the circuit by the action of the compressor.
The fluid HF R-134 is less toxic in comparison to other F s and H F s, is not harmful for the ozone and not polluting, it owns
however an energetic efficiency and an equivalent refrigerant ability.
According to the standard 34 ASHRAEs this fluid reenters in the category A1 and therefore it is not inflammable in
environmental conditions of 1 atm and 18 ° , but, it is very dangerous to operate welds, braising or to expose to flames, the
product containing R-134.
Is f rbidden to change the gas quantity inside the unit; in case of leakage suspicion, it’s mandatory to empty the circuit, make
the vacuum and a new charge in accordance with the quantity indicated on the external unit technical label.
(*) The substitution of these components involves the emptying and the recharge of the circuit refrigerator.
These operations must be effected exclusively by experienced personnel.

The condenser is wrapped around the tank
It receives high pressure and temperature vapor from the compressor.
Inside it the refrigerant liquid changes its physical state. It passes from vapor to liquid losing heat (given to
the water) during the state passage, the quantity of heat it is equal to the sum of the absorbed heat in the
evaporator and of the heat energy of the compression.

PRO-TECH An de + Magnesium an de
The exclusive PROfessional TE h system solution is an anodic anti-corrosion electronic protection system with a modulated
current (24 V).
It ensures maximum durability in terms of the boiler used in the water heater. The electronic circuit creates a difference in
potential between the boiler and the titanium electrode, so that optimal boiler protection is guaranteed, thereby preventing its
corrosion.
The magnesium anode is intended as a “start up” protection and is not necessary to replace it, in fact the permanent protection
is ensured by electrically connected PRO-TE H anode.
BEWARE! when the product is not supplied via power line, the product is not protected by the Pro-tech anode.

ompressor safety times: the minimum time between an heat pump start up and the other is 5 minutes; the minimum “rest”
time (OFF time) is 4 minutes.

Pressing the MODE button is possible to switch between functioning modes in this sequence:

The menu “info” (L) regards the information about device status, in the menu “Installer” (P/ ) is possible to change time and
temperature settings, functioning mode activation. The parameters “ ” is intended for the maintenance of the product.

This mode is available by default and is the starting working mode set by factory.
Recommended for winter to ensure the better comfort.
AUTO mode heats the water with a rational use of the heat pump and, only if necessary, of the
electrical resistance, according to these two parameters: T

and Time_W.
In the case of the available power supply time is less than Time_W, the time employed to reach
