1. General
Artidor's omnidirectional explosion-safe LED warning light is designed for use under the most
demanding conditions. The robust stainless steel housing and 4 mm impact-resistant
window, the O-ring seal and cast electronics ensure that the lamp is completely impervious
to water and salt.
The latest generation LEDs ensure a clearly perceptible visual signal. Dependent on the
selection of the user, the light will burn continuously or it blinks at a frequency of 1 Hertz. The
warning light can be ordered either with a radial cable connection or with a bottom
connection. This makes the lamp highly suitable for use as a warning light on control
cabinets.
The connection cable has a standard length of 5 meters. For application under less
demanding conditions there is also a version available with an anodized aluminum housing.
The Artidor LED warning light is explosion-safe and certified in accordance with European
Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX 114) and is CE marked.
2. Safety Instructions
The warning light AR-048 is an explosion-safe product suitable for use
in hazardous areas with explosion hazard from flammable gases, vapors,
mist and dust, classified as Zone 2 or Zone 22.
This manual must be read and understood for safe use of the warning lights. All warnings
and instructions must be followed.
•Installation must be carried out by personnel trained and qualified in explosion safety
taking the instructions mentioned on the equipment and in this manual into
consideration. Local regulations that apply to the installation must be followed.
•Connect this equipment to the direct current supply voltage for which it is designed.
•Isolate electrical power to the warning light before electrical installation.
•The transparent lens can be electrostatically charged. Only use a damp cloth to clean
the lens. Do not use solvents.
•Either decommission the warning light or do not use it when it is damaged.
•During installation of the warning light national safety regulations must be observed.
•Only use the warning light under the environmental conditions for which it is specified.
Deviating environmental conditions can contribute to damage to the equipment and may
lead to possible danger to the life of the user.
•Do not use the warning light at temperatures deviating from the specified ambient
temperature range.

•Follow all instructions written on the equipment and as mentioned in this manual.
•Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer or by a person appointed by the
manufacturer.
•Modifications to the equipment or changes to the design are not permitted.
•The product may only be used for the function for which it is designed and shall be
maintained in a good and clean condition.
If these instructions are not followed, the explosion safety of the equipment cannot be
guaranteed. The equipment could then endanger the life of the user and could cause the
ignition of an explosive atmosphere. Consequently, Artidor as the manufacturer will waive
any responsibility.
3. Characteristics
The characteristics of the LED warning light can be summarized as follows;

4. Application
The explosion-safe warning lights series AR-048 have been designed for and are suitable for
use in hazardous classified areas due to flammable gases, vapors, mist, fibers and dust.
Because they are explosion-safe and certified on the basis of Group II Category 3GD of the
European ATEX Directive they are suitable for use in the following types of zones in
explosion hazardous areas:
•for combustible gases, vapors and mist: zone 2
•for combustible fibers and dust: zone 22

The parts used are all manufactured from corrosion resistant materials and are resistant to
the effects of most common chemicals.

6. Marking
The warning lights comply to the European Directives for EMC and ATEX and implicit to the
Low Voltage Directive. With regard to explosion safety the warning lights have been
designed and manufactured on the basis of the essential health and safety requirements of
European Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX 114) relating to Group II Category 3GD. Harmonized
European construction standards have been applied fulfilling the essential requirements of
the directives. Please refer to chapter 5 ‘Technical data” and the EU Declaration of
Conformity at the last page of this user manual for more details.

7. Installation instructions
•Installation of explosion-safe equipment such as this product must be carried out by
personnel specially trained and qualified to do this, following the relevant requirements
of the installation standard EN 60079-14.
•For the installation and use of this product the relevant safety regulations and also the
generally recognized latest state of the technology apply.
•During assembly, care must be taken that the framework, screws and surface are strong
enough to take the weight of the warning light.
•Isolate power from the electrical supply cable prior to installation.
•Mount the warning light on a metal frame connected with ground (equipotential bonding).
If this is not possible, connect an earth wire to the external earth boss and ensure that
this is in sufficient electrical connection with ground.
•Install the connection cable and make sure that it is protected from mechanical and
chemical influences.
•Connect the end of the cable in a proper way to an external connection box and ensure
this is done professionally. The connection box is not supplied. Use a connection box
that it is suitably protected for the (explosion hazard) classification of the surroundings in
which it will be used.

8. Maintenance
For the maintenance of the LED warning light the requirements as stated in EN 60079-17
apply. If the LED warning light or the connection cable is no longer in good condition or is
very dirty or damaged it must be repaired or cleaned immediately.
The power supply to the LED warning light must be switched off and may only be restored
after the maintenance has been carried out and approved.
The advised maintenance cycles for the LED warning light depends on the specific use and
must therefore be agreed upon with the user for the expected use.
9. Repair
Except for the transparent polycarbonate lens, none of the parts of the AR-048 warning light
can be repaired or replaced. If repairs are carried out in an incompetent manner, the
explosion-safety of the warning light can no longer be guaranteed. Therefore it is preferred
that the warning light will be returned to the manufacturer or its representative for repair.
10. Removal / re-use
For processing regarding disposal or reuse of the product and its packaging, national
disposal and environmental laws and legislation must be taken into consideration.
Alterations can be made to this user manual without notice.

1. Généralités
La lampe d’avertissement à LED antidéflagrant à 360° d'Artidor a été conçu pour une
utilisation dans les conditions les plus exigeantes. Le boîtier robuste en acier inoxydable, la
lentille antichoc de 4 mm d'épaisseur, le joint torique et l'électronique moulée garantissent
une lampe totalement résistante à l'eau et au sel.
LEDs de la dernière génération fournissent un signal visuel clairement perceptible. Selon
voite choix, l’avertisseur s'allumera en continu ou clignotera avec une fréquence de 1 Hertz.
La lampe d’avertissement est disponible avec une connexion par câble radial ou il peut être
commandé avec une connexion en bas de la lampe. Cet lampe d’avertissement est donc
particulièrement adapté pour être installé sur une armoire de commande, comme lampe de
signalisation.
Le câble de connexion a une longueur standard de 5 mètres.
Une version avec boîtier en aluminium anodisé est également disponible pour une utilisation
dans des conditions moins exigeantes.
La lampe d’avertissement Artidor LED, marqué CE, est antidéflagrant et certifié
conformément la directive européenne 2014/34/UE (ATEX 114).
2. Consignes de sécurité
La lampe d’avertissement à LED AR-048 est un produit antidéflagrant conçu
pour une utilisation en atmosphère explosive liée aux gaz, vapeurs,
brouillards ou poussières inflammables, classée ATEX, Zone 2 ou Zone 22.
Lisez et assurez-vous d’une bonne compréhension de ce manuel. Pour une utilisation en
toute sécurité de La lampe d’avertissement, respectez tous les avertissements et suivez les
instructions.
•L'installation ne doit être effectuée que par des techniciens qualifiés, formés à la sécurité
anti-explosive, en respectant les marquages sur l'appareil, les instructions indiquées
dans ce manuel et les réglementations d'installation en vigueur localement.
•Connectez cet appareil uniquement à la tension d'alimentation pour laquelle il a été
conçu.
•Mettez hors tension La lampe d’avertissement avant sa connexion ou déconnexion au
réseau électrique.
•La lentille transparente pourrait se charger électrostatiquement. Par conséquent, utilisez
uniquement un chiffon humide lors du nettoyage. N'utilisez pas de solvants.
•Ne vous servez pas de La lampe d’avertissement s’il est endommagé et dans ce cas,
mettez le hors service.

•Respectez les réglementations nationales de sécurité lors de la mise en service.
•N’utilisez la lampe d’avertissement que dans les conditions ambiantes spécifiées. Des
conditions environnementales divergentes peuvent endommager l'appareil et
potentiellement mettre en danger la vie de l'utilisateur.
•N'utilisez pas la lampe d’avertissement en dehors de la plage de température ambiante
spécifiée.
•Suivez toutes les instructions d'utilisation se trouvant aussi bien sur l'appareil que dans
le présent manuel d’utilisation.
•Les réparations ne seront effectuées que par le fabricant ou par une personne désignée
par ce dernier.
•La modification de l'appareil ou les changements de conception du dispositif, ne sont
pas autorisés.
•Le produit ne doit être utilisé que pour l'application pour laquelle il a été conçu et il doit
être conservé en bon et propre état.
En cas de non-respect des instructions ci-dessus, la protection contre les explosions de
l'appareil ne peut être garanti. L'appareil pourrait alors mettre en danger la vie de l'utilisateur
et pourrait provoquer l’ignition d'une atmosphère potentiellement explosive. Artidor en tant
que fabricant ne peut alors en être tenu responsable.

4. Utilisation
Les lampes d’avertissement AR-048 sont conçus pour et appropriés à une utilisation dans
des zones à risque d'explosion liée aux gaz, aux vapeurs, aux brouillards, aux fibres et aux
poussières inflammables. Antidéflagrants et certifiés selon le groupe II catégorie 3GD de la
directive européenne ATEX, ils conviennent à une utilisation en zones suivantes:
•pour les gaz, vapeurs et brouillards inflammables: zone 2
•pour poussières inflammables: zone 22
Les pièces utilisées sont toutes fabriquées dans un matériau résistant à la corrosion
protégeant le matériel contre les influences des produits chimiques les plus courants.

6. Marquage
Les avertisseurs lumineux sont conformes à la directive européenne ATEX et donc
implicitement à la directive "Basse Tension". En ce qui concerne la protection contre les
explosions, les avertisseurs lumineux sont conçus et fabriqués conformément les exigences
de sécurité essentielles de la directive ATEX 2014/34/UE traitant le groupe II catégorie 3GD.

Les normes de construction européennes harmonisées ont été appliquées pour répondre
davantage aux exigences essentielles des directives. Voyez également le paragraphe 5
“Spécifications Techniques” et la Déclaration de Conformité UE incluse à la fin de ce manuel
d’utilisation.

7. Instructions d'installation
•L'installation d’un dispositif antidéflagrant, donc également du présent produit, doit être
effectuée par des techniciens spécialement formés et qualifiés, qui, en outre,
respecteront les dispositions pertinentes de la norme d'installation EN 60079-14.
•Les réglementations de sécurité applicables et le dernier état de la technologie
généralement reconnu s’appliquent pour l'installation et l'utilisation de ce produit.
•Lors du montage, assurez-vous que le cadre, les vis et la surface sont suffisamment
solides pour supporter le poids de La lampe d’avertissement.
•Coupez l’alimentation électrique avant l’installation.
•Montez La lampe d’avertissement sur un cadre ou sur une base métallique relié à la
terre (liaison équipotentielle).
Si cela ne serait pas possible, connectez alors un fil de terre à un conducteur externe
qui, à son tour, est connecté à la masse de terre.
•Installez le câble de manière à ce qu'il soit protégé contre les influences mécaniques et
chimiques.
•Terminez l'extrémité du câble dans une boîte de jonction externe et faites-le avec une
bonne finition. La boîte de jonction ne fait pas partie de la livraison. Par conséquent,
lors de la sélection de la boîte de jonction, assurez-vous que sa méthode de protection
convient à la classification (anti-explosive) de l'environnement dans lequel elle sera
utilisée.

8. Entretien
Pour la maintenance de la lampe d’avertissement, les réglementations énoncées dans
EN 60079-17 sont d’application.
Si la lampe d’avertissement ou son câble de connexion, ne seraient plus en bon état, une
réparation s’impose immédiatement. Dans ce cas l'alimentation électrique doit être coupée.
Elle ne sera rétablie qu’après approbation de la réparation.
Une lampe sale demande un nettoyage.
Les intervalles d’entretien requises pour ces avertisseurs lumineux dépendent de son
utilisation spécifique et doivent donc être adaptées à l'application prévue par l'utilisateur.
9. Réparations
À l'exception de la lentille transparente en polycarbonate aucune des pièces de la lampe
d’avertissement AR-048 ne peut être réparée ou remplacée. Si des réparations sont
effectuées de manière incompétente, la sécurité antidéflagrante du feu de signalisation ne
peut plus être garantie. Par conséquent, il est préférable que le feu de signalisation soit
renvoyé au fabricant ou à son représentant pour réparation.
10. Élimination / réutilisation
Les lois nationales et la réglementation en matière de protection de l’environnement doivent
être respectées avant toute élimination ou réutilisation du produit et de l'emballage.
Ce manuel peut être modifié sans préavis.

explosionssicherer Produkte. Von den Niederlanden aus bedienen wir den Weltmarkt mit

Vorreiterrolle im Normenausschuss des niederländischen Komitees für elektrotechnische
Normung. Unser Qualitätsmanagementsystem ist natürlich vollständig ISO-zertifiziert.

Forschung, Entwicklung und Tests führen, können wir schnell und flexibel agieren. Wir stellen uns
