Charging ENERGYBAR™-250 with EP-55
Solar Panel
EP-55 is specifically designed to be used for charging AspectSolar’s
ENERGYBAR™-250 (“EB-250”). To use the EP-55 to charge the EB-250, take out
the SOLMAX™ Box that is stored inside EP-55 pouch. Connect the SOLMAX™ DC
output to the DC input of the EB-250 as shown in the figure below to get it
charged. Typically, it takes 7-13 hours to fully charge the EB-250 using
EP-55 Solar Panel.
SOLMAX™ provides an estimate of the power harnessed by the EP-55 Solar
Panel via Power Indication LED. The LED can be seen in the picture below.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
Q: Is EP-55 Solar Panel waterproof?
A: EP-55 Solar Panel is weather-resistant which means it will resist the
occasional rain or snow. It is not designed for immersion in water.
Q: How long does it take to fully charge EnergyBar™-250 from empty?
A: On clear sunny days, when the EP-55 Solar Panel is facing the sun, it typically
takes 7-13 hours depending on how bright the sun is.
Q: Can we use EP-55 Solar Panel to charge batteries other than EnergyBar™-
250?
A: EP-55 Solar Panel is specifically designed for the EnergyBar™-250 product
and is not recommended to be used to charge other battery system.
Q: Why is there a repetitive clicking sound coming from the EnergyBar™-250
when it is being charged by EP-55 Solar Panel?
A: The clicking sound is the indication that the EnergyBar™-250 is fully charged
by the EP-55 Solar Panel.
Q: Why is the Power Indication LED of the SOLMAX™ Box blinking very fast
when EP-55 Solar Panel is plugged onto the EnergyBar™-250?
A: The very fast blinking state of the power indication LED on the SOLMAX™ Box
is its way of indicating that the EnergyBar™-250 has stopped accepting charge.
This condition may be followed by a repetitive clicking sound from the
EnergyBar™-250 if the level of sunshine fluctuates.
Q: Does leaving EP-55 Solar Panel plugged onto the EnergyBar™-250 even after
it is fully charged cause any problem to the system?
A: No. However do note that when the EnergyBar™-250 is fully charged, the
Power Indicator LED will blink rapidly and may be followed by a loud repetitive
clicking sound as explained above.
Q: Why does the PV panel sag during use?
A: The stand that props up the PV panels is made of light polypropylene plastic
and will flex as the sun reaches its peak point so that the panels are relatively
more horizontal to maximize harvest of the sunshine.
