Astonic Earth Breeze User manual

Manual
If you make changes to the settings of your Astonic e-
bike, your warranty expires immediately!
Please read this manual carefully before using the Astonic e-ride to
become fully familiar with the proper operation of your bicycle's
controls, features, capabilities and limitations. This manual contains
safe cycling tips, but does not cover all the techniques and skills
required to safely ride an electric bicycle. Give yourself time to get
used to your bike and use it safely.
Before first use, make sure you are familiar with the legislation for
electric bicycles in your country. You are solely responsible for
complying with the laws and regulations applicable in your country.

changes to the level of support, we are also happy to provide advice or help. We do not
support any changes made in relation to increasing speed or violating laws and
regulations. Astonic can never be held liable for incorrect use, violation of laws or
regulations or for adjustments made by third parties. In addition, any changes to the
settings will void your warranty.
Battery
You switch the battery on and off by pushing the round button on the side of the
battery. When not using your bicycle, switch off the battery! This is very important!
You can disconnect the battery by inserting your key into the lock and turning it open.
You can then move the battery straight up and it will come off the holder. When doing
this for the first time, it may be necessary to lightly tap the battery from below with
your hand to set it free. Your battery couples to the battery holder by paralleling it
but in a higher position above the holder and then lowering it. If it is in the correct
position, turn the key to lock it! If you forget to do this, you could lose the battery while
driving, resulting in possible damage.
You can charge your battery while it is mounted on the bike by carefully removing the
small rubber cover and attaching the charger. Of course, you can also charge the
battery when it is removed from the bike.

Battery maintenance and charging
Carefully attach the battery and check that it is properly attached to the holder.
After charging, close the cover cap carefully.
Never leave the battery empty! If you do not use the Astonic for a number of
weeks, store the battery frost-free and half-charged.
If you travel short distances, charge the battery to 80%. This way, your battery
will last longer and have more charge cycles.
Only charge the battery with the supplied Astonic charger.
Before charging, it is advisable to let the battery “rest” for half an hour before
plugging in the charger.
Your battery is an expensive element of your Astonic. With proper use, our high-
quality battery can last for years.
Do not expose to temperatures below -20°C or above 35°C.
Store the battery in a draught-free and stable environment, preferably in your
home and not in your shed.
Never expose your battery to a damp environment or clean it with water. Never
short-circuit the battery terminals; this damage is not covered by the warranty.
Do not open the battery. Breaking the seal on top of the battery will void your
warranty.
Do not expose your battery to high temperatures, do not place your bicycle near
fire and do not drop your battery.

Switch off the bicycle before charging. Plug in the charging port first, then the AC
plug.
Do not place anything on the charger while charging.
Remove the AC plug from the wall outlet first and then from the charging port.
Keep the battery out of the reach of children.
The capacity of the battery decreases over time by up to 30%, depending of
course on your use.
Recycle your battery in accordance with local regulations.
If the light on your charger is red, the battery is being charged. When the light is
solid green, stop charging your battery and unplug the charger.

Important! Please read this carefully!
Always follow local laws and regulations.
Always start in a low support level.
At dusk or dark, turn on the front and rear lights.
Check braking system, tire pressure and battery before riding.
Always use both brakes at the same time. Never apply front brake only!
Using only the rear brake can cause a slip effect. Be aware of this.
Do not ride through water with a depth of 10 cm or more.
Replace the wear parts (such as brake pads) in time and with original Astonic
parts. These are available in the webshop or by contacting us.
Do not place the Astonic e-ride in an environment with a lot of moisture or high
temperatures.
Do not place your Astonic e-ride in the sun at high temperatures, rather opt for a
spot in the shade. In addition, a dry place is always better than leaving the bike in
the rain.
Regularly check the screws, the chain and other parts.
In the beginning it is possible that the brakes make some noise, this disappears
after regular use. If you have the impression that something is not right, or that
the sound should already be gone, please contact us. We would like to check this
for you.
Do you have a question or do you run into something, please contact us. We
would like to help you to enjoy this bike as much as possible!
Driving and maintenance

Regular cleaning is essential to maintaining your Astonic. We recommend monthly
washing and conditioning.
Sweat, dirt and salt from winter road maintenance or sea air can damage your bike,
so you should clean your bike regularly and protect it from corrosion. Use clean water
and maybe a little soap to dissolve grease residues. Do not spray water directly on
your bicycle. Instead, use a slightly damp cloth to wipe away any dirt or debris. After
drying your bike, treat the surfaces with a care product. Finally, wipe all parts with a
clean, soft cloth.
Remove the battery and clean the contacts, remove sand and moisture from the
holder and blow it dry.
Clean the chain with a brush and a cloth and apply chain lubrication.
Check the brake pads and clean the brake discs. DO NOT USE GREASE NEAR THE
BRAKES!
Tighten bolts and nuts.
Make sure your battery stays dry at all times!
Remove the battery when washing your bike.
