* Set suspension fork: By turning the red knob (right) you can adjust the suspension. If
you go off-road, raise the suspension for more comfort. Please note: your braking
distance is now slightly extended. Turn the button back when driving on paved roads.
With the left button you can set the 'preload'. You only use this if you always drive off-
road. This allows you to set how much resistance the front fork has when loaded at a
standstill.
Our advice: leave everything on factory settings.

Operation and display
Start
Make sure the switch on the battery is set to 1.
Press and hold the "display on/off" button for two seconds. The pedal assistance is now
at level 1. Your ride can begin!
Ride
There are nine levels of pedal assistance. Use the plus and minus buttons to choose a
level. The higher the level, the sooner the battery will run out!
In the display, the level is displayed at the bottom left, next to the word PAS.
If you drive in the dark, switch on the front lamp with the light button on 'I' small light or
'II' high light. To turn on the taillight, press and hold the plus button (or "more pedal
assistance") for a moment. You will see the lighting icon on the display.
By gently squeezing the brake while cycling, you can temporarily turn off the engine.

By pressing and holding the minus button, you switch on a walk-along mode. This allows
you to walk next to your bike without having to push.
Stop
The display switches off automatically if there is no operation or rotation of the wheels
for a long time. You can also switch it off yourself, by pressing and holding the "display
on/off" button for a while.
Don't forget to turn off the battery!
M-button
Briefly press the "M" button for information about the trip, such as average speed,
distance travelled in kilometers, total distance, and so on.
Want to charge your smartphone? Press and hold the "M" button until a cord symbol
appears on the display. You have now enabled the USB port. You can plug your phone
into the bottom of the display so that it gets power from your battery. Press and hold the
"M" button again to turn off the charging function.
Press the "M" button twice in quick succession, then you will enter the settings. Please
do not change anything in these settings! If you do, you will lose your warranty!
In some cases, the motor may get too hot. This happens if you drive through loose sand
or mud in too high a gear. Put your gear (right side of your handlebars) in loose sand or
mud at its lowest position at all times. If signal "Motor needs attention" appears, switch
off the display and battery in its entirety. Wait a few minutes to cool the motor before
turning the battery and display back on.
If there are any questions or uncertainties, please feel free to contact us. If you want to
make changes in the level of pedal assistence, of course we are happy to help.

The battery
You can switch the battery on and off by using the round button on the side of the
battery. If you do not use your bike, turn off the battery!
Removing the battery is done by inserting your key into the battery lock and turning it
open. Then you can move the battery straight up and it will come loose from the holder.
On first use, it may be necessary to give the battery a light tap from below with your
hand to disconnect it.
Your battery connects to the battery holder by holding it parallel but in a higher position
above the holder and then bringing the battery down. If it is in the right position, lock the
battery with the key! If you forget this, you may lose the battery while riding, with
possible damage as a result.
You can charge your battery while it stays on the bike by removing the small rubber
cover cap and inserting the charging cord into the battery. Of course, you can also
disconnect the battery and charge it somewhere else.
If the light on your charger lights up red, it's time to charge the battery. If the light is
green, stop charging your battery and unplug the charger.
Battery maintenance and storage
You should make sure that the battery is never exposed to temperatures colder than -20
°C or warmer than 35 °C.
Charge the battery to about 40% and disconnect
it if it is not going to be used for more than 30
days.
Store the battery in a draft-free and stable
environment, preferably in your home and not in
your shed.
Store the battery with a filling of about 40%,
otherwise it will discharge and be damaged. This
damage is not covered by the limited warranty.
Never expose your battery to a humid
environment. Do not clean the battery with
water. Water damage is not covered by the
limited warranty.
Only charge with the original included charger.
Do not open or force the battery. Breaking the seal on top of the battery will void your
limited warranty.
Do not expose your battery to high temperatures, do not place your bike near fire or

drop your battery.
Turn off the bike before charging.
First, plug in the charging port in the battery and then plug the charger into the 220V
wall socket.
Do not place anything on the charger while charging.
First unplug the power cord from the wall outlet and then from the charging port.
Keep the battery out of the reach of children.
The capacity of the battery decreases by up to 30% over time, of course depending on
your use.
Recycle your battery in accordance with local regulations.
Important
Please read these instructions carefully before riding the Astonic bike.
•Always follow local laws and regulations.
•Drive in the twilight/dark with front and rear lights on.
•Check the brakes, tire pressure and battery before driving.
•Always use both brakes at the same time. Never just the front brake! By using
only the rear brake, a slip effect can occur. Be aware of this.
•Do not drive through water with a depth of 10 cm or more.
•Replace wear parts such as brake pads on time and with original Astonic parts.
These are available in the web shop or by contacting us.
•Do not place the bike in an environment with a lot of moisture or high
temperatures.
•Do not put your Astonic e-ride in the sun at high temperatures, rather choose a
spot in the shade. In addition, a dry place is always better than leaving the bike
in the rain.
•Check the chain regularly.
•In the beginning it may be that the brakes make some noise, this disappears
after regular use. If you feel that something is not right, or that the sound
should already be gone, please contact us. We are happy to check this for you.
•We do not support any changes made with regard to increasing speed or
violating laws and regulations and are entirely at your own risk. Astonic can
never be held liable for incorrect use, violation of laws and/or regulations or
adjustments made by third parties.

Page 8
Free checkup
After the first 500 kilometers of cycling, you are entitled to a free service. During this
checkup we set the parts that have now been driven in. If you think that this
maintenance is needed earlier, you may use it earlier. Any follow-up maintenance will be
charged. The replacement of wear parts is not covered by the free maintenance and will
be charged. The maintenance is only carried out for the original buyer and cannot be
passed on to third parties. In the event of adjustments made or maintenance made or
carried out by a third party, the right to free maintenance lapses and the warranty also
lapses. You are responsible for bringing and collecting your Astonic bike at our workshop.
If you are not able to bring and pick up the bike, transport costs will be charged.
Warranty
Every new Astonic e-bike comes with a manufacturer's warranty for the original buyer.
Astonic gives a 24-month warranty against manufacturing defects that result in the
failure of the battery, motor, controller or display. This warranty is only valid for the first
buyer! Any changes to the Astonic e-bike are not covered by this warranty! Damage
caused by stunt driving or other improper handling is not covered by this warranty!
Make sure you have read the general terms and conditions and the extended warranty
conditions carefully. You can find these on our website.
Cleaning the bike
Sweat, dirt and salt from winter road maintenance or sea air
can damage your bike, which is why you should clean your
bike regularly and protect it from rust. Use regular water for
cleaning and maybe some soap to dissolve grease residues.
Do not spray water directly on your bike, instead use a
slightly damp cloth to wipe away dirt. After drying your bike,
treat the surfaces with a maintenance agent. Finally, wipe all
parts with a clean, soft cloth.
In conclusion
Great service and accurate information is what Astonic strives to provide. So feel free to
contact us! Urgent questions can be asked by telephone, other questions preferably by
e-mail.
Please note! Keep
the battery dry.
Remove the
battery when you
wash the bike.
