RF-303 OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS
A. REMOTE CONTROL TRANSMITTER OPERATION
The remote control transmitters (XT-56 ) included with the RF-303 offer the
code rolling feature which will prevent illegal use of a code-grabber with an
attempt to record the code of your transmitter.
1. ARM/DISARM
TO ARM THE RF-303
Press the ON/OFF button once to
arm. The vehicle horn or siren will
chirp one (1) time, the parking lights
will flash one (1) time, and all doors
will lock (**).
TO DISARM THE RF-303
Press the ON/OFF button once to
disarm. The vehicle horn or siren
will chirp two (2) times, the parking
lights will flash two (2) times, and all
doors will unlock (**).
NOTE (*) The RF-303 is designed to honk the vehicle’s factory horn on alarm
arm/disarm, and during actual alarm trigger, or the included electronic siren can
be installed by your AutoPage Authorized Dealer to take the place of the audible
horn signal.
NOTE (**) Your vehicle must be equipped with power door locks. Optional
relays may be required. The door lock/unlock outputs of the RF-303 are not
ON/OFF AUX

designed to operate vacuum/electric door lock systems, found on certain European
vehicles. See manual for other door lock functions and/or options.
2. TEMPORARY ARM/DISARM CHIRP DELETE FROM REMOTE
(Vehicle horn, siren)
Upon approaching the vehicle (whether armed or disarmed) push the AUX
button on the remote transmitter for half (0.5) second, then very quickly push the
ON/OFF button on the transmitter to arm or disarm in the usual manner. The
ARM/DISARM chirp sound will be silenced only for this particular arming or
disarming cycle. The above described sequence must be repeated each time it is
desired to cancel the ARM/DISARM chirp sound.
3. PANIC FUNCTION
The RF-303 remote control may be used as a remote panic switch to trigger the
horn or siren in cases of emergency. To activate the PANIC FUNCTION press
and hold the ON/OFF button on the remote transmitter for a minimum of three
(3) seconds. The vehicle horn or optional siren will sound. To stop the PANIC
FUNCTION press the ON/OFF button on the transmitter.
4. REMOTE CONTROL TRUNK/HATCH RELEASE
(Optional at time of installation)
The RF-303 remote transmitter may be used to release your vehicle’s trunk or
hatch release. (*) To remotely release the vehicle trunk or hatch, approach the
vehicle and press the ON/OFF button on the remote control transmitter to
disarm the RF-303. Then press the AUX button on the remote transmitter for
three (3) seconds. The trunk or hatch will automatically release. (**)
NOTE (*) Your vehicle must be equipped with an electronic trunk or hatch
release.
NOTE (**) If you do not intend to drive the vehicle, you must rearm the RF-
303.

5. PRE-WARNING SENSOR CIRCUIT (Optional at time of installation)
The RF-303 offers an option to pre-warn possible violators with vehicle horn, or
siren chirps before triggering the alarm. The alarm will trigger with the third
violation within 15 seconds. Purchase of an optional sensor will be required.
To temporarily delete the pre-warning sensor, in cases where the vehicle will be
subject to heavy traffic, or large numbers of passing pedestrians, press the
ON/OFF button again within five (5) seconds after arming. The vehicle horn, or
siren will confirm the delete command with a low chirp sound.
NOTE: The deleted pre-warning sensor will automatically return to normal
operation upon disarming the RF-303. The pre-warning sensor delete operation
must be followed each time the RF-303 is armed. This operation deletes only
the pre-warning sensor of the alarm. The factory default setting of this feature is
OFF.
NOTE: If the alarm has been installed to sound the vehicle’s horn
instead of a siren, use of the pre-warn circuit will not be possible.
6. CHANGING THE REMOTE TRANSMITTER BATTERY
The RF-303 remote transmitter
uses one (1) 12 volt miniature
battery, #EL12, #VR22, or Radio
Shack #23-144. It will provide
approximately one year of
operation before replacement is
necessary

To replace the battery, carefully remove the case screw located at the end of the
remote transmitter where the key ring attaches to its case. Use a small blade
Phillips screwdriver. Before removing the battery note the direction of its
terminals. Install the new battery exactly the same, using caution so as not to
bend, or otherwise damage the battery contacts. Replace the case cover and
carefully tighten the screw. Do not over-tighten the screw. Test the transmitter
to be sure it arms and disarms the alarm.
B. LED STATUS INDICATOR OPERATION
1. LED OFF = The RF-303 is disarmed.
2. LED CONSTANT ON = Indicates opens trigger circuit.
3. LED FAST FLASHING = Passive arming timer is counting down.
4. LED FLASHING = The RF-303 is armed.
5. LED FLASHING IN A 2 FLASH/HOLD SEQUENCE = Alarm breach.
NOTE: If the automatic rearm feature was chosen at the time of installation, a
door must be opened after disarming. If a door is not opened, the RF-303 will
automatically rearm in 60 seconds, and the LED will continue to flash. See
Section (F ) AUTOMATIC REARMING for details.
C. AUDIBLE AND VISUAL ALARM STATUS INDICATOR
1. 1 CHIRP (VEHICLE HORN, OR SIREN) WITH 1 LIGHT FLASH
Alarm is armed.
2. 2 CHIRPS (VEHICLE HORN, OR SIREN) WITH 2 LIGHT FLASHES
Alarm is disarmed.
3. 4 CHIRPS (VEHICLE HORN, OR SIREN) WITH 4 LIGHT FLASHES,
& LED FLASHING IN A 2 FLASH/HOLD SEQUENCE
Alarm is disarmed and has been breached in your absence.

D. VALET/OVERRIDE SWITCH
NOTE: Both the VALET and OVERRIDE functions are performed from the
same switch.
1. OVERRIDE FUNCTION
he OVERRIDE FUNCTION may be used if the RF-303 remote is lost or
inoperative. To operate the OVERRIDE FUNCTION, enter the vehicle (alarm
will sound). Switch the ignition to ON. Move the VALET/OVERRIDE switch
to ON, then OFF. The alarm will stop. The RF-303 will be disarmed. Quickly
replace or service the remote transmitter to insure continued vehicle protection.
2. VALET FUNCTION
If PASSIVE (Automatic) arming has been is selected, the RF-303 may be
placed into the VALET (stand-by) mode to allow for vehicle service, washing,
or attendant parking without self-arming after the ignition has been switched off,
and without leaving the RF-303 remote control with unauthorized individuals.
To operate the VALET FUNCTION, turn the vehicle ignition to ON and move
the VALET/OVERRIDE switch to ON.
To return to normal operation, turn the vehicle ignition to ON and move the
VALET/OVERRIDE switch to OFF.
3. KEYLESS ENTRY MODE
In the valet mode, the vehicle doors can be locked and unlocked using the
remote if the remote door lock/unlock system is installed. (*) However, there
will be no chirp confirmation. It is strongly recommended that the driver visually
confirm that the doors are locked or unlocked.

NOTE (*) Your vehicle must be equipped with power door locks. Optional
relays may be required.
E. PASSIVE/MANUAL OPERATION (Optional at time of installation)
Passive/Manual operations can be selectable if an optional toggle switch is
installed. Consult your installing dealer.
1. PASSIVE ARMING & DISARMING
If you choose the PASSIVE (Automatic) arming mode, the RF-303 must be
operated as below.
1. Switch OFF the vehicle ignition, exit vehicle, and be sure all protected
openings are closed.
2. The LED STATUS INDICATOR will begin fast flashing and the passive
arming timer will begin counting down.
3. If you re-open the exit, the LED will stop flashing.
4. Close the exit, and the LED will start flashing again.
5. The RF-303 will count down for 30 seconds. After 30 seconds, the vehicle
horn, or siren will chirp one (1) time, and the parking lights will flash one (1) time
indicating the RF-303 has armed.
NOTE: If the optional power door lock feature is installed, the doors will
automatically lock 10 seconds after the PASSIVE arming cycle is completed.
This feature is available only if the ignition control power door lock system is
selected.
6. To DISARM the RF-303, approach the vehicle and press the ON/OFF
button on the remote transmitter. The vehicle horn, or siren will chirp two (2)
times, the parking lights will flash two (2) times, the doors will unlock, and the
LED will turn off. Enter the vehicle and switch on the ignition, or start the engine.

2. MANUAL ARMING & DISARMING
If you choose the MANUAL (Active) arming mode, follow the steps below.
1. Switch OFF the ignition, exit vehicle, and be sure all protected openings are
closed.
2. Press the ON/OFF button on the remote transmitter.
3. The vehicle horn, or siren will chirp one (1) time, the parking lights will flash
one (1) time, the doors will lock, and the LED will begin flashing. Approximately
five (5) seconds later the RF-303 will be fully armed.
4. To DISARM the RF-303, approach the vehicle and press the ON/OFF
button on the remote transmitter. The vehicle horn, or siren will chirp two (2)
times, the parking lights will flash two (2) times, the doors will unlock, and the
LED will turn off. Enter the vehicle.
F. AUTOMATIC REARMING
The RF-303 is equipped with an automatic rearming circuit that will return the
alarm to a fully armed state if a door is not opened within 60 seconds after
disarming. If desired, this automatic rearming circuit can be eliminated at the time
of installation
G. BREACH WARNING
The RF-303 is equipped with a BREACH WARNINGto tell you, upon
disarming, if the alarm has been triggered in your absence. If an alarm breach
has occurred, the LED STATUS INDICATOR will be flashing in a 2 second

flash/hold sequence. Press the ON/OFF button on the remote transmitter. The
vehicle horn, or siren will chirp four (4) times, and the parking lights will flash four
(4) times. Enter vehicle in the normal manner.
H. IGNITION CONTROL POWER DOOR LOCK SYSTEM
When installed with remote power door lock/unlock, the vehicle’s doors will
automatically lock when the ignition is switched on. The doors will automatically
unlock when the ignition is switched off. To avoid any undesirable lock-out, the
doors will not lock if any door is left open.
This feature is optional at the time of installation. If the ignition control door lock
system is not chosen, the doors will not lock automatically in the passive arming
mode. However, the doors will lock in the manual arming mode and in the
automatic rearming mode.
NOTE: Use of the ignition control power door lock system will not interfere
with any factory installed child door lock safety system.
NOTE: The ignition control door lock system is not designed to operate
vacuum/electric door lock systems as found on certain European vehicles.
I. TRIGGER TEST
After arming the RF-303 in either the passive or manual mode, test the system in
the following manner.
1. Open any door or other protected opening. The vehicle horn, or siren will
immediately begin sounding, and the parking lights will begin flashing.
2. If optional sensors have been installed, arm the RF-303 and test each sensor
according to the directions of the particular sensor.

3. To terminate the trigger test, push the ON/OFF button on the remote
transmitter.
NOTE: If triggered in the armed mode, the RF-303 will sound the vehicle horn,
or siren and flash the parking lights for 60 seconds. It will then stop and
automatically reset, and rearm. If the violation continues, the alarm will sound
and the parking lights will flash for two (2) sixty second cycles.
J. PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE TRANSMITTERS
The RF-303 includes two (2), 2 button mini remote control transmitters which
must be programmed to the alarm before any alarm function is possible. This
action is normally done at the time of installation, however there may be
occurrences where you wish to enter the program mode.
NOTE: Each time the programming mode is entered, all previously programmed
transmitter codes will be automatically deleted and must be reprogrammed. This
is an important security feature. If any transmitter is lost or stolen, enter the
programming mode and reprogram existing transmitters. Transmitters can only
be programmed by entering the programming mode.
NOTE: Any transmitters programmed to the RF-303 as described above will
remain in memory during times when certain vehicle service procedures make it
necessary to disconnect the battery.
To program the RF-303 transmitters, follow the directions as written below, in
their exact order! HAVE ALL TRANSMITTERS READILY AVAILABLE.
1. Flip the VALET/OVERRIDE switch to its “ON” position.
2. Turn the ignition switch to “ON”, then “OFF”, then immediately flip the
VALET/OVERRIDE switch “OFF”, “ON/OFF”, “ON/OFF”. The vehicle
horn, or siren will chirp several times.

3. Turn the ignition switch “ON/OFF”, “ON/OFF”. The vehicle horn, or siren
will chirp again, one (1) time. You are now in the programming mode.
4. Press the ON/OFF button on one of the remote transmitters until the vehicle
horn, or siren responds with a confirming chirp. The first transmitter is now
programmed.
5. Within five (5) seconds, press the ON/OFF button on the second transmitter
until the vehicle horn, or siren responds with a confirming chirp. The second
transmitter is now programmed.
NOTE: If the RF-303 does not receive a second transmitter code to learn
within five (5) seconds, it will automatically close the programming mode and
resume normal alarm functions. If this happens, it will be necessary to repeat
steps 1 through 5 and reprogram all transmitters.
NOTE: The RF-303 can learn up to four transmitter codes. If additional,
optional transmitters are to be programmed, follow sequence 1 through 5 and
continue programming.
L. PROGRAMMING THE REMOTE TRANSMITTERS FOR A
SECOND VEHICLE.

The RF-303 transmitters are capable of controlling separately installed RF-300,
RF-500, or RF-700 series alarm systems in two vehicles.
To code the RF-303 transmitters for two vehicles, follow the diagrams as shown
below. Before multiple vehicle programming can be achieved, it will be
necessary to enter the programming mode for each vehicle’s alarm system.
NOTE: Program each vehicle separately. Do not enter the program modes on
both vehicles at the same time.
1. TWO VEHICLE OPERATION
VEHICLE #1
Enter the programming mode on vehicle #1 and push the ON/OFF button on the
transmitter for vehicle #1. The vehicle horn, or siren will respond with a
confirming chirp. Within five (5) seconds, push the AUX button on one of the
transmitters from vehicle #2. The vehicle horn, or siren will respond with a
confirming chirp. Both transmitters are now programmed to vehicle #1.
VEHICLE #2
Enter the programming mode on vehicle #2 and push the AUX button on the first
transmitter used for vehicle #1. The vehicle horn, or siren will respond with a
confirming chirp. Within five (5) seconds, push the ON/OFF button on the
second transmitter that had been previously programmed on vehicle #1. The
vehicle horn, or siren will respond with a confirming chirp. Both transmitters are
now programmed to
vehicle #2.
NOTE: In the boxes below, the first transmitter is assumed to be the primary
transmitter of vehicle #1, and the second transmitter is assumed to be the primary
transmitter of vehicle #2.

AUTOPAGE ALARM ACCESSORIES
AP4000EX
Vehicle security paging was originated by AutoPage over 18 years ago. The
AP4000EX is our latest version providing a full four watts of output, and a
unique digital format. One AP4000EX pager is capable of monitoring up to
three vehicles. (*) The pager will notify you with a choice of audible, visual, or
vibration alerts. Its memory will also store the last trigger.
(*) Each vehicle must be equipped with an optional AP4000EX transmitter.
AP4000DX
The AP4000DX is a full four watt paging system. The signal is received from a
handsome belt-clip paging receiver indicating your RF-303 has been triggered,
even if you cannot hear the siren.
SIS-3 Glass/Shock Sensor
Our top selling and extremely reliable electronic glass/shock sensor, the SIS-3
can be finely adjusted for each installation, from sports cars to trucks. When
properly adjusted, it virtually eliminates false triggers typically caused by inferior
sensors.
SIS-11 Dual Stage Glass/Shock Sensor (*)

This AutoPage sensor is based on the patented technology of our popular SIS-3
sensor. AutoPage has designed the SIS-11 as an economical alternative without
sacrificing performance. The SIS-11 may be mounted to a hard surface, or
simply wire-tied to an existing wire harness while still allowing full adjustment
capabilities for each installation.
RS-32 Dual Stage Perimeter Protection Sensor (*)
The RS-32 utilizes microwave technology that emits dual protective fields. The
easy and separate adjustment of the exterior and interior fields, allows the RF-
303 to be armed and provide maximum protection in convertible vehicles parked
with the top down, and equally good protection in enclosed vehicles.
(*) If the alarm has been installed to sound the vehicle’s horn
instead of a siren, use of the pre-warn circuit on the above sensors
will not be possible.
SIS-10 Air Movement Sensor
The SIS-10 super low frequency vibration sensor has successfully integrated an
electret electrostatic transducer and low pass filter, creating a new and cost
effective air movement sensor. If installed in a closed vehicle, any movement of
air inside the vehicle which may be caused by opening a door, will trigger the
sensor. Applications of the SIS-10 are limitless. It will be ideal to monitor a
vehicle’s doors, trunk or hatch, an RV, a closed cabin on a vessel, and so on.
The SIS-10 can also replace glass breakage sensors. The advantage of the SIS-
10 is that a single SIS-10 can cover all the doors, rear hatch, windows, and
sunroof, even if there is no pin switch.
AC-68 Power Window Module
The AC-68 power window control module can control the up or down motion
of two windows, or one window and a sunroof. (*)
(*) Vehicle must be equipped with power windows, and/or power operated
sunroof.

A pre-wired relay and socket for starter interrupt and other optional functions of
the RF-303 requiring a relay for operation.
