How to use PIN code override for
emergency disarm
NOTE: If the AVS S5/S4 alarm is armed the siren will sound
when you open the door. You can use the siren key to turn the
siren off before starting emergency disarm so it does not make
a noise. (This does not turn “off” the alarm, it only silences
the siren.)
This procedure will override the system whether it is armed or
auto-immobilised.
1. Open the driver’s door and leave it open.
2. Turn the ignition on and then off an equal number of times to the
first PIN code digit.
3. Wait for two seconds (the indicators will flash once in auto-immob-
lise mode).
4. Now turn the ignition on then off an equal number of times to the
second PIN code digit.
5. The system will now disarm. You must start the car within 38
seconds or the system will automatically rearm.
NOTE: If you turn the ignition off for more than 38 seconds you
will have to repeat emergency disarm every time you wish to
start the car.
Data battery back-up siren
• IncludedwiththeAVSS5/S4andcanbettedtotheAVSS3
for an additional charge.
• Hasits’ownbatteryandchargingsystemsoitwillcontinueto
sound if power is cut to it from the car.
• Communicateswiththealarmmoduleviaanindependent
data line to make it more difficult for a would be thief to
disable it.
IMPORTANT. PLEASE READ.
Emergency disarm allows you to override the system if the remotes
are lost or broken (or the remote batteries are flat) so you can start
the car.
This is done using a 2-digit PIN code that you choose (there are
63,000 possible combinations) being entered via the ignition key.
Once you have chosen your PIN code record it on the PIN code card
with this manual and carry it with you. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORD
of your PIN code. Without it there is no way to override the system.
Please familiarise yourself on how to use PIN code override so you
are able to carry out emergency disarm.
Emergency disarm/PIN code override

SIREN KEYS
The siren is supplied with two keys that fit the switch on the top of
the siren
NOTE: The siren key is unique to your alarm. Make sure the
number is recorded on the card supplied with this manual.
TURNING THE SIREN OFF / ON
You may need to turn the siren off:
1. To disconnect the car battery (the siren will
sound if it loses power from the battery).
Remember to turn the siren back on after the
battery is reconnected.
2. If the alarm is armed (AVS S5/S4) and you need
to use emergency disarm.
NOTE: If you turn the siren off remember to turn it back on!
SIREN BATTERY
The siren battery charges off your car’s battery automatically. If the
car battery goes flat the siren will begin to sound. In this instance turn
off the siren with your key and recharge the car’s battery. Once this is
done remember to turn the siren back on.
If the siren battery is flat it will re-charge itself automatically from the
vehicle’s power source after approximately one hour.

available on all vehicles. Features are subject to change.
Please check with your AVS installer. Optional accessories
such as sensors and sirens will incur an additional charge.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the remote range getting shorter?
The remote batteries are going flat. Replacement batteries are available
from your AVS dealer or electrical retailer (part CR2025 x 2 per remote).
I have lost/damaged my remote. How do I start the car?
You can use PIN code override for emergency disarm. Follow the
instructions in this manual or on the PIN code card.
My alarm chirps for a few seconds when I arm it instead of the
usual one chirp?
A door, bonnet or boot is open. Disarm the system, correct the problem
and start again.
I disarmed the system a few minutes ago but now it is
armed again?
The auto re-arm and re-lock feature has been turned on. It can be
turned off by your AVS installer.
The system disarms and the dash lights are working but the car
won’t start? There is a clicking sound when I try to turn on the car but
it won’t start?
It is likely the car battery is flat. The system draws such a small amount
of power it can be armed and disarmed (just like you can still see the
dash lights) but the car does not have enough power to start. You will
need to replace or recharge the car battery.
NOTE:Ifjump-startingthecarpleaseuseprotectedjumperleadsas
failure to do so can do irreparable damage to the alarm system (and
your car’s computer system) and will void your car alarm warranty.
I’m worried the alarm will drain the car battery?
The system has been designed to draw as small an amount of current
from your car battery as possible. As long as the car’s battery is in good
condition the system should not adversely affect most car’s batteries if
left unattended for up to about three weeks.
Ultrasonic sensor
Measures air pressure and movement within the car
and will trigger if the pressure changes. Gives superior
protection for the interior of the vehicle.
Microwave sensor
Ideal for convertibles it detects body mass, such as a
person, entering the vehicle.
Digital tilt sensor
Essential protection for mag wheels. Will trigger if the
car is tilted in any direction from 1 degree.
Screamer siren
An extremely high-pitched screamer siren installed in
the cabin of the car.
