Introduction
Congratulations and thank you for choosing AwoX
SafeLIGHT. This product contains both a smoke
sensor* that detects the presence of smoke to alert
you in case of danger, and a Bluetooth-enabled LED
light bulb that you can control from your smartphone
or tablet. Stay safe while filling your space with a
fresh rainbow of colors!
NOTE: The sensor in this product is not
currently compliant with the NF EN 14604
standard required in the European
Community as of March 8, 2015.

Preparation for use
1. Press the test button to make sure the sensor
is operating correctly. The unit will emit a loud
beep to confirm. The LED blinks when the
sensor is activated.
2. Hold the lower part and turn the upper part
counter-clockwise to open the unit.
3. Insert light bulb into socket and twist gently
into place.
4. Replace upper and lower parts and turn to
close the unit.

Placement
SafeLIGHT should be installed on the ceiling inside
each bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on
every level of your home, including the basement.
On levels without bedrooms, install alarms in the

living room (or den or family room) or near the
stairway to the upper level, or both.

Mounting
Your product includes two types of ceiling mounts.
The provided mounting ring may either be fixed to
the ceiling using screws, or inserted through a
properly sized hole (about 74 mm diameter) in a
suspended ceiling panel.
1. Attach the ceiling mount as appropriate.
2. Have the electrical wiring connected by a qualified
professional.
3. Insert the SafeLIGHT unit into the base and twist
to lock.

To control your AwoX SafeLIGHT using your Apple
or Google Android smartphone, start by downloading
the free AwoX SmartCONTROL™app for your
device:
Apple (following devices or newer): iPhone 4S,
iPad (3rd gen.), iPod Touch (5th gen.), iPad Mini –
download and install AwoX Smart CONTROL™
software from the App Store.
Google Android devices equipped with Bluetooth
(3.0 or higher) –download and install AwoX
SmartCONTROL™software from the Google Play
Store.

Discover and control your AwoX light bulbs
1. Install one or more AwoX SafeLIGHT units with
SmartLIGHT bulbs and turn power on with the light
switch.
2. Activate Bluetooth on your smartphone (in
Settings) launch AwoX SmartCONTROL 
Tap Auto Link to scan for bulbs.
In the SmartCONTROL Home screen, lights within
wireless range are displayed as icons. Tap All
ON/OFF to turn all bulbs on and off at once and use
sliders to control lighting styles.

Troubleshooting
If SafeLIGHT does not work correctly:
Check to make sure that Bluetooth is activated
on your mobile device to control the color LED.
Do not use any kind of dimmer switch other than
that provided by the software controller.

Préparation
1. Appuyez sur le bouton de test : si le capteur
fonctionne correctement, il doit émettre un bip
puissant. Une fois le capteur activé, un voyant
lumineux clignote.
2. Tout en tenant la partie inférieure du capteur,
ouvrez la partie supérieure en la tournant dans le
sens inverse des aiguilles d'une montre.
3. Insérez l'ampoule dans la douille et tournez-la
délicatement.
4. Replacez la partie supérieure du capteur sur la
partie inférieure et tournez-la de manière à la
refermer.
