PREFACE
Thank you for choosing the AX1 Security and Home Automation system. High quality, large
number of funcitons and yet simple operation are main advantages of the system. Hoping that
you will be fully satisfied with this choice, we ensure you with our professional assistance
and information on our proudcts.
This manual will explain to you on how to operate your AX1 security and home automation
system. This system is made up of a control panel, keypads, IO expander module (optional),
telephone voice module (optional), various sensors and detectors. An enclosure will contain
the control panel, which includes the system electronics and stanby battery.
TESTING
It is advisable to perform periodical test of the alarm system – check every single detector’s
ability to detect zone violation by opening the protected windows, doors etc. It is also
advisable to check sirens and telephone voice messaging system. Please refer to testing
procedures section in this manual. If your system does not function properly, please contact
your system installer for services.
LIMITATIONS
Even though AX1 is an advanced security system, it does not 100% guarantee protections
against burglary, fire or other losses. Any alarm system whether commercial or residential is
subject to compromise or failure-to-warn for a variety of reasons. These include:
Intruders may gain access through unprotected openings or have the technical
sophistication to bypass an alarm sensor or disconnect an alarm warning device.
Intrusion detectors, smoke detectors and many sensing devices will not operate
without power. Devices powered by AC will not work if there is no AC power supply
for any reason and their back up batteries are missing, dead or improperly installed.
Alarm warning devices such as sirens or bells may not alert people or wake up sleeper
if they are located on the other side of closed or partly closed door.
Telephone lines needed to transmit alarm from the premise to a central monitoring
station may be out or temporarily out of service. Telephone station lines are subjected
to compromise by sophisticated method of attack.
Smoke detector used in conjunction with the alarm system may not sense fires that
start where smoke cannot reach the detector such as wall, roof or the other side of the
door. Smoke detector also may not sense a fire on another level of residence or
carelessness and safety hazards like smoking in the bed, violent explosions, escaping
gas, improper storage of flammable material, overloaded electrical circuits, and
children playing with matches.
The most common cause of an alarm system not functioning properly when an
intrusion or fire occurs is inadequate maintenance. Therefore, your system should be
tested weekly to ensure all sensors are working properly.
Installing an alarm system may make you eligible for lower insurance rates but an
alarm system is not substitute for insurance. Homeowners, property owners and
renters should continue to insure their lives and properties.

Chapter 1: System Operation
Auto Home Arming
Recommend to Use: When going to leave the premises.
1. Ensure all the protected premises are closed prior to activate auto home arming before
leaving.
2. Enter a valid [USER PIN] and follow by [#]. If fast key is enabled, user can activate
this arming mode by pressing [
] and hold for 2s.
3. The “
” indicator will flash with exit delay count down number showing on the
keypad display screen. Buzzer will beep on and off indicating the EXIT delay count
down in progress.
4. Leave the premises only via the DELAY zone.
5. If the DELAY Zone is remained intact after the EXIT delay [where the user is
presume still at home], system will automatically swap the Auto Home Arming to
Day Arming, with interior zone bypass.
6. User will be given an ENTRY delay time to disarm the system when enter the
premises via DELAY zone.
Day Arming
Recommend to Use: When user is at the premises.
1. Ensure all the protected premises are closed prior to activate Day arming mode.
2. User can activate this arming mode by just pressing [ ] and hold for 2s. If fast key is
disabled, enter a valid [USER PIN] and follow by [ ] and hold for 2s.
3. System will be armed instantly with Interior zone bypassed.
4. The “ ” indicator will be shown on the keypad display screen once system is
armed in Day Arming mode.
5. User will be given an ENTRY delay time to disarm the system when enter the
premises via DELAY zone.

Night Arming
Recommend to Use: When all family members back to home and ready to sleep.
1. Ensure all the protected premises are closed prior to activate Night arming mode.
2. User can activate this arming mode by just pressing [ ] and hold for 2s. If fast key is
disabled, enter a valid [USER PIN] and follow by [ ] and hold for 2s.
3. System will be armed instantly with Interior zone bypassed.
4. The “ ” indicator will be shown on the keypad display screen once system is armed
in Night Arming mode.
5. There is NO ENTRY delay in Night arming mode. Any violation on Delay Zone will
trigger the alarm instantly.
Force Arming
Recommend to Use: When going to leave the premises for short while with some of the
zone openned
1. If fast key is enabled, user can activate this arming mode by just pressing [ ] and
hold for 2s. If fast key is disabled, enter a valid [USER PIN] and follow by [ ] and
hold for 2s.
2. System will be armed instantly with certain violated zones to by bypassed
automatically. The violated zone will be under protection again once the zone resume
normal.
3. The “ ” indicator will be shown on the keypad display screen once system is armed
in Night Arming mode.
4. User will be given an ENTRY delay time to disarm the system when enter the
premises via DELAY zone.

Remote Control Arming
1. This arming mode can be activated via remote control unit or keyswitch arming.
(provided remote control/ key switch is installed to the system)
2. Press the remote control button or twist and release the key switch.
3. The system will be armed in Auto Home Arming mode. (Please refer to Auto Home
Arming description at page 8). Leave the permises via Delay Zone.
4. The “ARMED” indicator will be shown on the keypad display screen once system is
armed via remote control or keyswitch.
5. The Siren or Bell indicator will ON once to confirm the arming. (User may choose for
Siren indicator or Bell indicator. Please refer to Installer programming sheet.)
Timer Arming
1. The system can be programmed to automatically ARM by itself at the specific time.
2. The system will be armed in FORCE arming mode when the system timer reaches the
preset ARM TIMER time.
3. The “ARMED” indicator will be shown on the keypad display screen once system is
armed by timer.
4. Please refer to User Programming section – ARM TIMER at page 25.
Telehphone Remote Arming
1. AX1 system can be remotely ARM from outside the house through any telephone or
handphone.
2. The system will be armed in FORCE arming mode when the user enter the instruction
through telephone or handphone.
3. The “ARMED” indicator will be shown on the keypad display screen once system is
armed via telephone or handphone.
4. For details, please refer to Telephone Control Flow at page 5 or 6.

Disarming
When to use: To disarm the system when enter the ARMED premises through Delay
zone with ENTRY delay or to stop the alarm.
1. To disarm the system, enter a valid [User PIN] followed by [#] before ENTRY delay
expired.
2. If no valid user code has been entered by the end of the ENTRY delay count down,
ALARM will be triggered.
3. Buzzer acceptance tone will be played if the system is successfully disarmed and the
“ARMED” indicator will extinguish.
4. If the ALARM is triggered, user can stop the BELL and SIREN by disarming the
system.
5. The violated ZONE indictor will continue flashing after system disarms till user has
cleared the alarm memory. [refer to page 14]
Remote Control Disarming
1. This system can be disarmed by pressing the remote control unit or twist and release
the keyswitch. (provided Remote control/ key switch is installed to the system)
2. The “ARMED” indicator will extinguish and the Siren or Bell indicator will ON twice
to confirm the arming. (User may choose for Siren indicator or Bell indicator. Please
refer to Installer programming sheet.)
3. If the “ARMED” indicator remains illuminated, press the remote control button or
twist and release the key switch again.
Timer Disarming
1. The system can be programmed to automatically DISARM by itself at the specific
time.
2. The “ARMED” indicator will extinguish once system is disarmed by timer.

Telepone Remote Disarmimg
1. AX1 system can be remotely DISARM from outside the house through any telephone
or handphone.
2. The “ARMED” indicator will extinguish once system is disarmed by telephone or
handphone.
3. For detail, please refer to Telephone Control Flow at page 5 or 6.
Automation Control (Individual Control)
1. Press and hold for 2 seconds.
2. The keypad display screen show HOME with status of output 1-8.
3. Zone indicators 1 to 8 will turn ON if the respective outputs are ON.
4. Zone indicators 1 to 8 will turn OFF if the respective outputs are OFF.
5. Enter the desired output number to ON/OFF that particular atuotmation. Keypad
buzzer will beep twice once the instruction is accepted. The respective output will
turn ON/OFF and the latest output status will show on keypad screen.
6. Press [BACK] key to exit.
Automation Control (ON All)
1. Press and hold for 2 seconds.
2. The keypad display screen show HOME with output 1-8 status.
3. Enter [0] and follow by [#] to confirm the instruction. Output 1 to 8 will turn ON one
by one and and keypad display screen will show the latest output status.
4. Press [BACK] key to exit.

Automation Control (Off All)
1. Press and hold for 2 seconds.
2. The keypad display screen show HOME with status of output 1-8.
3. Enter [0] then [ ] to scroll to page ALL OFF, followed by [#] to confirm the instruction.
Output 1 to 8 will turn OFF and keypad display screen will show the latest output
status.
4. Press [BACK] key to exit.
Timer Automation Control
1. The system can be programmed to ON or OFF automation point by itself at the
specific time.
2. Please refer to User Programming section – PROGRAM AUTO ON and PROGRAM
AUTO OFF at page 23.

Clear Alarm Memory
1. The keypad display screen will show the most recent alarm that triggered with one or
more ZONE indicators slow flash.
2. The Strobe lights will turn OFF when the user enter CLEAR ALARM MEMORY
mode.
Zone Chime
1. Zone chime allows user to monitor the zones while the system is disarmed. The
keypad buzzer indicator will beep once when there is zone violation, where the
SIREN will not turn ON.
2. Keypad buzzer acceptance tone will sound when user press [7] and hold for 2s.
3. Indicator “ ” will illuminate if the zone chime is enabled, or the indicator will
extinguish if zone chime is disabled.
View Trouble
1. The system will monitor a number of possible trouble conditions. If any of the
conditions occur, the “TROUBLE” indicator will appear on keypad display.
2. The “TROUBLE” indicator will be illuminated until the trouble has been resolved.
3. Press and hold key [8] for 2s to view the trouble list.
4. The “TROUBLE” indicator will slow flash and keypad buzzer will sound 2 beeps.
5. One or more ZONE indicators will turn ON to indicate which trouble has occurred.
6. To view the trouble description, just press the key number corresponding to the zone
with indicators ON. The trouble description will illuminate on keypad display screen.

Bypass / Un -bypass Zone
1. To bypass zone, the system must in normal mode.
2. Press and hold key [9] for 2 seconds.
3. The “ ” indicator will illuminate at left bottom and keypad buzzer will beep twice.
ZONE indicators 1 to 8 will turn ON if the respective zone is already bypassed.
ZONE indicators 1 to 8 will turn OFF if the respective zone is un-bypass.
4. Press the zone number that needs to be bypassed/un-bypass. Keypad buzzer will
beeps twice upon acceptance. Repeat this step to bypass/un-bypass other zones.
5. Press [BACK] key to exit.
6. The bypassed zone slow slow flash to indicate that the zone is bypassed now.
7. All bypassed zone will automatically resume normal (unbypassed) when the system is
disarmed. User must re-excute the bypass process before next arming.

Emergency Situation
(A) Fire Alarm
(B) Emergency Alarm
(C) Panic Alarm
1. These softzone keys will trigger the Fire, Emergency or Panic alarm respectively.
2. The Siren will sound and the reporting will be sent to user or central monitoring
station.
3. Enter a valid User PIN and followed by [#] key to stop the siren.
4. The softzone key can be deactivated to prevent mis-used. [Refer to installer
programming sheet]
(D) DURESS Code
1. In the event of where the user is forced by the intruder or robber to disarm the alarm
system, user can disarm the alarm system by using 4 digits Duress Code.
2. By pressing Duress Code, system will be disarmed. However, a silent signal will be
sent to any designated telephone number or central monitoring station (CMS) to call
for help. (* Provided the system is connected to CMS).
3. The siren and strobe will not be activated.
4. It is advisable to choose a code that can be easily remembered. To edit the duress
code, please refer to page 22.

System Test Mode
(A) Walk Test
2. Press [TEST] key, then press [ ] to scroll to WALK Test and followed by [#] key to enter
the mode.
3. Each time zone faulted, siren will sound for 2s and the corresponding zone light will
fast flash with keypad buzzer beeping.
4. To exit walk test, press [BACK] key.
(B) Bell Test
1. Bell test allow on-site testing for siren & bell functionality.
2. Siren and bell will sound for 3 seconds.
3. If siren or bell does not sound, consult your system installer.
