Selectexposuremoe
Toimproveimagequalitforspecicsurveillancescenes,useexposuremodes.Exposuremodesletsoucontrolaperture,shutter
speed,andgain.GotoVideo>Image>Exposureandselectbetweenthefollowingexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallighting,forexampleuorescentlighting,selectFlicker-free.
Selectthesamefrequencasthepowerlinefrequenc.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiallightandbrightlight,forexampleoutdoorswithuorescentlightingatnightand
sunduringdatime,selectFlicker-reduced.
Selectthesamefrequencasthepowerlinefrequenc.
•Tolockthecurrentexposuresettings,selectHoldcurrent.

Yourcamerausesvisiblelighttodelivercolorimagesduringtheda.Astheavailablelightdiminishes,oucansetthecamerato
automaticallshifttonightmode,inwhichthecamerausesbothvisiblelightandnear-infraredlighttodeliverblack-and-white
images.Sincethecamerausesmoreoftheavailablelight,itcandeliverbrighter,moredetailedimages.
1.GotoVideo>Image>Day-nightmode,andmakesurethattheIR-cutlterissettoAuto.
2.Tosetthelightlevelatwhichthecamerawillshifttonightmode,movetheThresholdslidertowardBrightorDark.
3.Tousethecamera’sIRlightwhennightmodeisactivated,turnonAllowIRilluminationandynchronizeIRillumination.
Reucenoiseinlow-lightconitions
Toreducenoiseinlow-lightconditions,oucanadjustoneormoreofthefollowingsettings:
•Adjustthetrade-offbetweennoiseandmotionblur.GotoImage>ExposureandmovetheBlur-noisetrade-off
slidertowardLownoise.
•Settheexposuremodetoautomatic.

Ahighmaxshuttervaluecanresultinmotionblur.
•Toslowdowntheshutterspeed,setmaxshuttertothehighestpossiblevalue.
•Reducesharpnessintheimage.

•Increasethelightlevelinthescene.
•Mountthecamerasothatobjectsmovetowarditorawafromitratherthansidewas.

Ifoumaximizethedetailsinanimage,thebitratewillprobablincreaseandoumightgetareducedframerate.
•Makesuretoselectthecapturemodethathasthehighestresolution.
•GotoVideo>tream>Generalandsetthecompressionaslowaspossible.
•Belowtheliveviewimage,clickandinVideoformat,selectMJPEG.
•GotoH.264andH.265encodingandturnoffZipstreamfunctionalit.

Dnamicrangeisthedifferenceinlightlevelsinanimage.Insomecasesthedifferencebetweenthedarkestandthebrightest
areascanbesignicant.Theresultisoftenanimagewhereeitherthedarkorthebrightareasarevisible.Widednamicrange
(WDR)makesbothdarkandbrightareasoftheimagevisible.
