Therearedifferentexposuremodeoptionsinthecamerathatadjustsaperture,shutterspeed,andgaintoimproveimagequaityfor
specicsurveiancescenes.GotoSettings>Image>Exposureandseectbetweenthefoowingexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,seectAutomaticexposure.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiaighting,forexampeuorescentighting,seectFlickerfree.
Seectthesamefrequencyasthepowerinefrequency.
•Forenvironmentswithcertainarticiaightandbrightight,forexampeoutdoorswithuorescentightingatnightand
sunduringdaytime,seectFlickerreduced.

BenetfromIRlightinlow-lightconditionssingnightmode
Yourcamerausesvisibeighttodeivercoorimagesduringtheday.Astheavaiabeightdiminishes,youcansetthecamerato
automaticayshifttonightmode,inwhichthecamerausesbothvisibeightandnear-infraredighttodeiverback-and-white
images.Sincethecamerausesmoreoftheavaiabeightitcandeiverbrighter,moredetaied,images.
1.GotoSettings>Image>Dayandnight,andmakesurethattheIRcutlterissettoAuto.
2.Todetermineatwhatighteveyouwantthecameratoshifttonightmode,movetheThresholdsidertowardBright
orDark.
3.EnabeAllowIRilluminationandSynchronizeIRilluminationtousethecamera’sIRightwhennightmodeisactivated.

Ifyousettheshifttonightmodetooccurwhenit’sbrighter,theimageremainssharperastherewibeessow-ight
noise.Ifyousettheshifttooccurwhenit’sdarker,theimagecoorsaremaintainedforonger,buttherewibemore

Toreducenoiseinow-ightconditions,youcanadjustoneormoreofthefoowingsettings:
•Adjustthetrade-offbetweennoiseandmotionbur.GotoSettings>Image>ExposureandmovetheBlurnoise
tradeoffsidertowardLownoise.
•Settheexposuremodetoautomatic.

asmaerresoutionthanthemaximumresoution,theangeofviewisreduced.Thecapturemodeasoaffectsightsensitivity.A
capturemodewithahighmaximumframeratehasreducedightsensitivityandviceversa.

Aviewareaisacroppedpartofthefuview.Youcanstreamandstoreviewareasinsteadofthefuviewtominimizebandwidth
andstorageneeds.IfyouenabePTZforaviewarea,youcanpan,titandzoomwithinit.Byusingviewareasyoucanremoveparts
ofthefuview,forexampe,thesky.
Whenyousetupaviewarea,werecommendyoutosetthevideostreamresoutiontothesamesizeasorsmaerthantheviewarea
size.Ifyousetthevideostreamresoutionargerthantheviewareasizeitimpiesdigitayscaedupvideoaftersensorcapture,
whichrequiresmorebandwidthwithoutaddingimageinformation.

Theremotefocusandzoomfunctionaityaowsyoutomakefocusandzoomadjustmentstoyourcamerafromacomputer.Itisa
convenientwaytoensurethatthescene’sfocus,viewingangeandresoutionareoptimizedwithouthavingtovisitthecamera’s

Decidewhichcompressionmethodtousebasedonyourviewingrequirements,andonthepropertiesofyournetwork.The
avaiabeoptionsare:

ToensuresupportfortheOpusaudiocodec,theMotionJPEGstreamisawayssentoverRTP.
MotionJPEG,orMJPEG,isadigitavideosequencethatismadeupofaseriesofindividuaJPEGimages.Theseimagesarethen
dispayedandupdatedataratesufcienttocreateastreamthatshowsconstantyupdatedmotion.Fortheviewertoperceivemotion
videotheratemustbeateast16imageframespersecond.Fumotionvideoisperceivedat30(NTSC)or25(PAL)framespersecond.
TheMotionJPEGstreamusesconsiderabeamountsofbandwidth,butprovidesexceentimagequaityandaccesstoeveryimage
containedinthestream.

storagerequiredtostorethevideostreamforaspeciedamountoftime(retentiontime)whenimagequaityisadjustedtomeetthe
