H.264can,withoutcomromisingimagequality,reducethesizeofadigitalvideolebymorethan80%comaredwiththeMotion
JPEGformatandasmuchas50%morethanwiththeMPEG-4standard.Thismeansthatmuchlessnetworkbandwidthandstorage
sacearerequiredforavideole.Orseenanotherway,muchhighervideoqualitycanbeachievedforagivenbitrate.

ThebitratecanbesetasVariableBitRate(VBR)orConstantBitRate(CBR).VBRadjuststhebitrateaccordingtotheimage
comlexity,usingumorebandwidthforincreasedactivityintheimage,andlessforlowerimageactivity.CBRallowsyoutoseta
