drop-downlist.ToaddBonjourasabrowserbookmark,gotoSafari>Preferences.
IfyoudonotknowtheIPaddress,useAXISIPUtilitytolocatetheproductonthenetwork.Forinformationabout

Axisdeicessendtheinitiallysetpasswordincleartextoerthenetwork.Toprotectyourdeice,setupasecureand
encryptedHTTPSconnectionandthenchangethepassword.
Thedeicepasswordistheprimaryprotectionforthedataandserices.Axisdeicesdonotimposeapasswordpolicyastheymaybe
usedinarioustypesofinstallations.Toprotectyourdatawerecommendthatyou:
•Changethedefaultpasswordthatcomeswiththedeices.
•Useapasswordwithatleast8characters,preferablycreatedbyapasswordgenerator.
•Don’texposethepassword.
•Changepasswordatarecurringinteral,atleastonceayear.

Thespeeddryfunctionhelpstoproidesharpimagesinrainyweather.Itcanalsosimplifydomecleaning,allowingformore
efcientmethodssuchashighpressurecleaning.Withthespeeddryfunctionactiated,thedomeibratesathighspeed.It
breaksthesurfacetensionofthewaterandremoesthedrips.

ofsolidcolorandareappliedontheideostream.
Priacymasksarepresentonallsnapshots,recordedideo,andrequestedstreams.TheycannotbebypassedthroughtheVAPIX®
applicationprogramminginterface(API).

•Increaseshutterspeedandgain.GotoSettings>Image>ExposureandsetMaxshuttertoaloweralue,andMaxgain
toahigheralue.

•Increasethelightleelinthescene.
•Mountthecamerasothatobjectsmoetowarditorawayfromitratherthansideways.
HowtobenetfromIRlightinlow-lightconditionssingnightmode
Yourcamerausesisiblelighttodeliercolorimagesduringtheday.Aslightdiminishes,youcansetthecameratoautomatically
shifttonightmode.Innightmodethecamerausesbothisiblelightandnear-infraredlighttodelierblack-and-whiteimages.
Sincethecamerausesmoreoftheaailablelightitcandelierbrighter,moredetailed,images.
1.GotoSettings>Image>Dayandnight,andmakesurethattheIRcutlterissettoAuto.
Howtoselectexposremode
Therearedifferentexposuremodeoptionsinthecamerathatadjustsaperture,shutterspeed,andgaintoimproeimagequalityfor
specicsureillancescenes.GotoSettings>Image>Exposureandselectbetweenthefollowingexposuremodes:
•Formostusecases,selectAutomaticexposure.
•Ifyouneedfullcontrolofallparameters,mostlyusefulforsceneswithlittlechangeinlighting,selectManual.
Howtomaximizedetailsinanimage
Important
Ifyoumaximizedetailsinanimage,bitrateincreasesandmightleadtoreducedframerate.
•Makesuretoselectcapturemodethathasthehighestresolution.
•Setcompressionaslowaspossible.
•SelectMJPEGstreaming.
•TurnofftheZipstreamfunctionality.
HowtostabilizeashakyimagewithElectronicImageStabilization(EIS)
EIScanbeusedinenironmentswheretheproductismountedinanexposedlocationandsubjecttoibrations,forexample,wind
orpassingtrafc.TurnonEIStogetasmootherandsteadierimagewithoutblur.

Tobetterrecognizethelicenseplateofacarpassingbythecamera,youcanapplyandadjustanumberofthings.
Oneoptionistousethepixelcounterinyourcameratosettheoptimalpixelresolution:
1.GotoSettings>System>Orientationandclick.
2.Adjustthesizeandplacementoftherectangleinthecamera’slieiewaroundtheareaofinterest,forexample
wherethelicenseplatesofpassingcarsareexpectedtoappear.Youcanthenseethenumberofpixelsrepresentedby
thesidesoftherectangle.

Youcanuseanobjectofaknownsizeintheiewasareferencetodecidehowmuchresolutionisneededforrecognition.

orduringproductinstallationandconguration.

1.GotoSettings>Apps>AXISVideoMotionDetection.
2.Starttheapplicationifitisnotalreadyrunning.
3.Makesureyouhaesetuptheapplicationaccordingtoyourneeds.
Addtheoerlaytext:

5.Enter#Dinthetexteld.
6.Choosealignment,textsizeandappearance.

Itmaybeusefultoretriee,forinstancefromarecordedideo,thepanortiltpositionindegreesinwhichaneenthastakenplace.
Thiscanbeobtainedbyincludingthepositionintheimageasatextoerlay,usingaso-calledmodier.
1.GotoSettings>Overlay.
2.Inthetexteld,enter#xtoshowthepanposition.
Enter#ytoshowthetiltposition.
3.Choosealignment,textsizeandappearance.
4.Includethetextoerlay.
5.Thecurrentpanandtiltpositionsshowupinthelieiewimageandintherecording.
