means of standard 3-pin XLR cab es. The on y difference is that the first device in the chain does not receive
DMX input.
PLEASE NOTE: When S ave mode is activated, the device wi wait for a signa from the Master device. It is
not possib e to simp y se ect an automatic or sound-contro ed mode! To cance this, se ect 'NAST' mode in
the SLND menu, so the device goes to Master mode. Then, a standa one functions can be activated.
SHND: This mode consists of automatic programs, designed for sound-contro ed operation. In sound-
contro ed mode, the device uses the bui t-in microphone that can be activated by means of the SOUN
setting and adjusted in sensitivity. Any time the microphone detects sound, the device wi change movement
and/or co our in a way that syncs perfect y with your ight show. If no sound is detected, the device wi move
s ow y and change co our gradua y unti sound is detected again.
SOUN: This setting shows if the microphone function is activated or not, which you can see in the disp ay as
ON or OFF.
If SOUN mode is disab ed, the device wi execute its programs at a s ow, gradua pace.
SENS: This mode a ows you to determine the sensitivity of the interna microphone. The further the device is
from the speaker, the higher the sensitivity of the microphone needs to be so it can react proper y to the
music. The microphone is bui t to hand e high sound pressure eve s, but the ouder the signa , the higher the
microphone sensitivity eve , the more difficu ty the device wi have detecting the beat of the music.
Experiment with the eve of sensitivity and distance/positioning of the device to find the best resu ts.
LED: If the LED disp ay is not in use, it can be de-activated by turning the LED mode OFF. The red symbo s

DISP: This function determines whether the disp ay is shown norma y or inverted. If the device is
suspended, the disp ay may be harder to read. This function a ows you to rotate it vertica y for better
egibi ity.
PAN/TILT: Inverts the pan and /or ti t va ues independent y so that the motors work in reverse. This function
works in a modes.
TEST: Shou d the device need c eaning or maintenance, this function can be used to test one or more
devices simu taneous y. The device p ays a continuous program whi e the step motors and LEDs are used.
This way you can quick y detect any abnorma ities or defects. The device wi run the program unti stopped
manua y (for examp e when the sound-contro ed mode is activated.)
HOUR: If this device is used professiona y or rented, it shou d be regu ar y maintained and inspected in
between use. The HOUR function shows exact y how ong the device has been in use. This amount
accumu ates over time as ong as the device is being used and cannot be manipu ated by the user.

Operating Modes
The fo owing overview is designed to show the differences between the various operation modes that are
supported by the above-mentioned menu functions.
Sound:
When in Sound-contro ed mode, the device's interna microphone detects the music and reacts to the beat.
The device wi move in sync with the music and provide an automated ight show.
When there is no music for the device to detect or when on y high frequencies are audib e, the device wi
continue its program at a s ower pace, so the ight show wi not stop abrupt y. As soon as the microphone
detects music again, it wi resume the automated program and fo ow the beat.
Slave
In S ave mode, you can daisy-chain mu tip e devices of the same type so they a function a specific way.
This way you can coordinate your ight show by having mu tip e separate devices moving the same way
instead of a different directions, which can be chaotic. Basica y, you can connect an un imited number of
s ave devices to a master device, but a DMX booster is required in between. Genera y speaking, you can
connect up to four armatures together without the need for a DMX booster.
Be aware that when you attempt to connect devices of different types and brands, they may behave
strange y and you may not get the desired effect because certain functions are inked to the wrong channe s.
This is true of DMX ighting of a brands and types.
The ERO Micro Spot can, in fact, be inked with the ALO Micro Scan because these devices use the same
operating system. This enab es you to ink mu tip e moving heads and scanners of this type.
DMX
The DMX mode is the most comprehensive way to maintain u timate contro over a the functions this device
has to offer. It enab es you to determine exact y how many functions you want to contro via the DMX
contro er or DMX software.
This device can be set to various channe modes so the channe ayout, which is shown be ow, corresponds
perfect y with your DMX circ e ayout, as we as with the functions you wi be using.
14CH mode:
CH Function Value

2 Pan Fine Position min-max 000-255

safe y, according to the insta ation and connection requirements.
Make sure the device and connection cab es are out of reach of chi dren, and that if chi dren are present,
they are under adu t supervision at a times. Because this device can be used upright or suspended,
chi dren cou d pu on the cab es, causing the device to fa on top of them. To avoid injury, it is important to
pay c ose attention to the position and/or insta ation of this device.
Uprig t use
If you want to use the ERO Motion Heads 1W in an upright position, ensure that it is p aced on a stab e
surface ike a tab e, DJ booth or T-bar. The ERO Motion Heads 1W is equipped with rubber feet that grip
suitab e surfaces.
Suspended use (brackets)
When you want to suspend the ERO Motion Heads 1W, attach the supp ied mounting bracket to the top of
this device and use the inc uded mounting materia s.
If you want to mount a ha f coup er or a G-hook to the brackets, it is advised to do this before mounting the
brackets to the armature. You can find standard hooks and/or brackets for 35 or 50mm tubes (truss or ight
stand) at your oca dea er.
Hardware for mounting the ERO Motion Heads 1W to the wa , cei ing, or beam is not inc uded. Contact a
specia ist if you're not sure which hardware is required for your situation. A wooden beam and stone wa
require different mounting methods.
Shou d you want to suspend the ERO Motion Heads 1W, you wi need to attach a safety cab e to the
armature. This is not inc uded, but is avai ab e at your oca dea er. The ERO Motion Heads 1W is equipped
with an eye et for hooking safety cab e. Once it's hooked on, you can wrap the cab e around the truss or ight
stand and attach it again by means of the same hook. This ensures the device is secured and prevents it
from fa ing, even if one or both of the brackets shou d come oose.
Ensure that the safety cab e has a oad capacity of 10x the weight of the armature and that the device can
not fa farther than 30 cm. You can wrap the safety cab e around the truss or ight stand severa times to
ensure the fa is as short as possib e. The shorter the fa , the ess chance of damage or injury.
Lig t source
The ERO Motion Heads 1W contains powerfu LED modu es that create an even more powerfu effect thanks
to a specia ens that bund es the beams together. Never ook direct y into the ens at c ose range, as the
human eye can't adjust to the sudden intensity of the beam of ight this device produces. It won't resu t in
permanent damage, but it can cause temporary b ind spots, which may cause disorientation and discomfort.
Cooling
The ERO Motion Heads 1W is coo ed by fans that are insta ed in the head and in the housing. These wi be
activated when the device is turned on. Make sure the fans and vents are not b ocked and regu ar y check
that they are functioning norma y. Be aware that shou d the fans suck in substances ike dust, smoke and
moisture, this may impair their operation and shorten the ife of the device.

Check if a the screws are intact and secured and tighten or rep ace them where needed. Check a meta
parts of the device for any signs of corrosion. If corrosion is found, the device needs to be checked
thorough y.
DMX terminator
In DMX mode, it’s standard practice to p ace a terminator at the end of a DMX circuit. A DMX terminator is an
e ectrica termination consisting of a 120 Ohm resistor, that’s p aced between the second and third pin to
e iminate possib e data ref ections. Data ref ections can cause strange behaviour in DMX-contro ed devices.
DMX-terminators are so d separate y but you may yourse f decide to so der a 120 Ohm resistor between the
second and third pin of a standard ma e XLR connector.
