Setting up the unit
To activate the unit, connect the appropriate included power cable to the unit and to a suitable 230V, 50Hz
power outlet.
During start-up, the device needs to calibrate. This may take up to one minute. During start-up the display
reads 'AYRA' and the fixture cannot be used. Do not try to enter the menu during start-up. hen the start-up
is complete, the last used mode will be shown and the settings and values can be changed. For a new
product, this is usually the DMX mode with the value set to 001. If no DMX signal is present, the device will
turn to an auto or music mode.
Through the menu and the buttons below the display, you are able to adjust settings and read data from the
fixture.
Use the display and the menu buttons on the bottom to set preferences, change settings and scroll through
the menu. “Enter” is used to save a certain setting or preset; press “Menu” for at least 2 seconds to return to
the main menu.
The table below shows an explanation for every feature and value.

ADDR: DMX address setting, used to determine the DMX starting channel. From this channel on, the fixture
will respond to values corresponding with the number of channels that the fixture is occupying. (For example,
when you set the starting address to value 003, the fixture will respond to channels 3, 4, 5 etc.)
CHND: The channel mode of the fixture makes it possible to use the correct channel mode setting for every
application. For simple and basic setups, users may prefer to use the 1 CH mode. For advanced setups,
users may prefer to choose the 51CH mode to be able to control the colour of every pixel and function.
SLND: Select the right master or slave operation for the fixture. The usual mode is the master mode. If you
select Slave mode 1, the device will mimic the actions of the first. If you set the slave mode to 2 or further,
complete matrix show designs can take place (when also setting the correct SHND mode).
To use the master-slave mode, connect two fixtures together with standard 3P XLR male – 3P XLR female
cable (not included). Connect the DMX output of the master to the DMX input of the slave function.
Regardless of the mode selected on the master fixture, the slave will mimic the actions.
NOTE: Please note that it is not possible to switch to any working mode if the Slave mode is active on your
fixture!
All information and illustrations shown in this user manual are subject to change without further notice.
User manual version: 1.0 Creation date + author initials: 13-05-2015 RV Revision date + author initials:

SHND: Select the correct Show mode if you are going to use the master/slave mode with multiple fixtures,
where each fixture needs to receive the right signal. The Show modes are optimized for 2, 4 or even 16
fixtures, which will work together seamlessly if mounted in the right order. (Explained further on in this user
manual)
SOUN: The sound state shows if the built-in microphone of the unit is active or not. It can be enabled or
disabled in the menu with the ON/OFF selection.
SENE: The sensitivity of the built-in microphone is adjustable, in order to optimise the built-in sound-
controlled mode. For example, when your music source (speakers) is placed far away, it is possible to
increase the sensitivity to make sure that the fixture responds to the sound accurately. The sensitivity can be
adjusted from 0 to 100, where 100 is the most sensitive.
BLND: LED display on/off. hen using this device in a club or theatre, the environment is mostly dark.
Therefore, it is possible to shut off the LED menu display light when it is not in use. The default setting is ON,
which means that the LED display remains on all the time. hen turned off, the display will turn off when not
used for around 1 minute.
DISP: Display flip function. hen you invert the display status, the status of the buttons will also change.
From the correct reading position, Menu is always left and Enter is always right. This may be practical if you
install the device hanging near a wall and can not read the status easily.
TEST: hen this mode is selected, the unit will test each LED colour of all pixels. This process continues
until the process is disabled through the menu.
HOUR: Service intervals are primarily used by companies who rent products for all kinds of purposes and
users who use the fixtures frequently. So after a particular number of hours, the fixture is brought in for
service, to check if all components are in good shape and to fix any problems. This function displays the
number of hours that the product has been used.
VER: Displays the firmware version that is installed on the PCB. Users can not upload new firmware to this
fixture.
REST: Resets the fixture without requiring you to remove the power cables or switch the product off.

Operating modes
The IntenZ CB600 offers various operating modes, each with its own advantages. For simple events there
are stand-alone modes, and for advanced situations it's possible to create synchronised light shows. You can
also control every feature of the CB600 via DMX in various channel modes. A short description for each mode
can be found below:
Auto:
Automatic light show with pre-programmed internal shows on a user defined speed. The speed of the internal
programs can be adjusted from 1 to 9.
Sound:
Automatic light show with one of the pre-programmed internal shows in sync with the music, thanks to an
internal microphone that picks up the beat of the music and changes a step every time a beat is detected.
Use the Sens mode to change the sensitivity of the internal microphone so it will respond optimally to the beat
of the music. In this mode, any set function in the Auto mode is overruled, and the fixture will change effects
in sync with the beat of the music. Please ensure that the sound controlled mode is set to 'on', otherwise the
built-in microhpone is inactive and the unit will not respond to music.
Slave:
In master/slave mode, it is possible to link several IntenZ CB600 fixtures together, to create synchronised
light shows in the automatic or sound controlled mode. The first fixture in the chain must be set in the Auto or
Music mode, and the other fixtures must be set to Slave, so they will mimic the behaviour of the first fixture.
The master/slave function requires 3p or 5p XLR male – XLR female cables (not included). Connect the DMX
out of the master fixture to the DMX input of the second fixtures, and so forth.
In addition to this, the CB600 has a special feature, which makes it possible to create larger matrix designs in
stand alone mode. Thanks to the slave adressing (SL2 – SL16), users are able to give every CB600 panel
used in the matrix a Slave ID. Based on this, the internal light show of the master sends signals to the slave.
One 4x4 (16 fixtures!) matrix of CB600 fixtures is instantly transformed in a low resolution video wall!
The master fixture must be set to SLSH, while the others are set to slave in a very particular order to ensure
perfect display of the several built-in effects.
The built-in effects of these modes are also suitable for use with only 2 or 4 panels. The images below
describe the position of every panel and the assignment of master/slave, as well as the master mode required
to achieve the desired effect.

DMX:
The IntenZ CB600 can be connected to a DMX controller with standard 3p and 5p XLR male – XLR female
cable. In DMX mode, a DMX terminator must be connected to the last fixture at the end of the DMX chain to
prevent reflections in the DMX signal, which could cause flickering and unwanted behaviour from your
intelligent fixtures.
A DMX terminator is an XLR connector with a 120-ohm resistor placed between pin 2 and 3 as a bridge.
NOTE: The IntenZ CB600 can be switched between various channel modes. For simple applications where a
minimum amount of control is required, the 1CH mode is perfect. Users who wish to have ultimate control
over all pixels and functions can use the 51CH mode.

Installation and onne tion requirements
The IntenZ CB600 is a versatile product and can be used in many ways. To use this device as intended and
to be sure that the product is used in a safe way, the following requirements must be met during the setup,
installation and connection of the device.
Standing installation
The IntenZ CB600 can not directly be installed on a platform without proper mounting gear. Usually, lots of
light effects have built in rubber feet so they can also be installed on a DJ booth. However, the CB600 has
large heatsinks on the rear of the unit. If the device would be installed standing, it would fall over. If a
standing position is desired, the U-bracket must be installed and bolted to the surface it is mounted on. The
surface must be a solid material like a wooden beam or concrete, in order to keep the CB600 in place. For
fixed installations this is mostly possible.
Hanging installation
The CB600 can be installed in several ways. Included hanging brackets are included in delivery, which can
be mounted on top of the unit, next to the coupling hardware. This way, hooks such as G-clamps, trigger
clamps or half couplers can be installed.
It is also possible to use the U-shaped bracket, which is mounted on the side of the device. This bracket
makes precise aiming of this fixture possible, for example when used as a blinder effect in a club or on a
festival.
The CB600 can not directly be suspended from a ceiling, wall or beam as its weight is too large. It is however
possible to mount multiple CB600 fixtures to a truss system capable of holding the weight of the CB600 load.
The CB600 are equipped with hardware which makes coupling of multiple CB600 fixtures possible, thus
creating a wall of LED-pixels. For this application, the included tool is used. The panels are positioned next to
each other and with the tool, the hook from one panel attaches to the panel hooks next to it. Please pay
close attention to the positioning of each attached panel, as the devices must all be positioned in the same
direction to achieve optimal effects.
Please note that every suspended installed CB600 needs to be secured to its main structure with safety
cables. The provided safety eyebolts of the CB600 can be used for this and are positioned in the top corners
of the rear panel.
hen the units are used in a matrix setup, every fixture needs to be secured separately to ensure safety. If
any of the primary mounting hardware fails, the unit can not fall. Each unit should not be able to fall more
than 30 cm and the used safety cable must be able to hold at least 10x the weight of the load it protects.
No more than 4 units may be installed vertically below each other. hen doing so, the smaller U-shaped
brackets must be installed on top of the upper unit. Trigger couplers or likewise clamps, capable of holding at
least 10x the weight of the unit, can be used to mount the matrix to a truss system.
The fixtures can be coupled as shown on the next page.

Transport and storage
The IntenZ CB600 can be transported directly after shut-down. As the light sources of the fixture do not need
time to cool down, the device can be stored and transported instantly.
During transport, the device must be securely protected to ensure it stays reliable and in optimal shape.
Always use the original box and packaging material to transport the unit, or a fitting flight case or flight bag if
the device is transported frequently during mobile use.
Power input and output
The IntenZ CB600 is provided with an extra power output. This makes daisy chaining of several lighting
effects possible.
The output of the CB600 can handle a maximum power of 3450 . This equals around 15A based on a 230V
AC, 50 Hz connection. A maximum of 15 CB600 may be connected in daisy chain on the main CB600.
This also means that one matrix consisting of 16 CB600 fixtures can run on a single power cable. Please
note that a clean 16A power group is also required in order for the matrix to work properly. As for
entertainment purposes not all power is required at the same time (because the panels are either used for
blinding applications or visual effects) it may be better to spread the load of 16 panels over two 16A groups,
to ensure that power peaks do not have negative influence on your electrical system (for example voltage
drops).
Please be aware that no equipment with a power consumption larger than 3450 is connected to the output.
If you want to connect more than 15 CB600 fixtures or larger equipment to one CB600's output, the
connection to a power outlet and/or 16A group must be renewed.

Please note that the Powercon connectors are not 'hot-swappable'. This means that the connectors may not
be pulled out of the chassis if the cable is still connected to a power output socket.
The IntenZ CB600 is equipped with a fuse for its own components. The power input of the device is directly
linked to the power output of the device.
XLR input and output
The IntenZ CB600 is equipped with 3-pin and 5-pin XLR chassis connectors. The DMX input is usually
connected with a XLR cable that has a locking mechanism so it can not be pulled from the chassis easily.
Usually the locking part has to be pressed and held to unlock the mechanism. hen doing this, the
connector can be removed from its socket.
Fans and ooling
The IntenZ CB600 is a modern product and features temperature controlled fans. This means that the four
fans of the unit will only activate if the temperature of the LED PCB becomes too high. In practice, the fans
will only turn on if the device is used on full output for a longer period of time. This makes the CB600
interesting for applications where background noise needs to be prevented as much as possible.
