Operation
1. Drillsetup:
oEnsurethathammeractionisnotselectedonthedrill.
oSwitchthevariablespeedcontroltolow,ifavailable.
oSelect a low torque setting, if available, this can be increased later if required.
Torquesettingswillvaryinintensitydependantonthedrill.
2. Fitthe hexagonalshaftintothechuckof the drillandthentighten.
3. Slide the boot onto the metal fingers, large end
first. Settle the boot as far as possible onto the
fingers ensuring that theyprotrude from the small
endofthe boot.
Note: Tofit a boot to an inner joint, turn the boot
inside out before sliding it onto the Duralec
®
fingers.
4. HoldDuralec
®
anddrillfirmly and operate thedrill
inanANTICLOCKWISE(reverse) direction.
Theremaybea slighttorquereaction as the drillstarts.
If theclutch operates too earlyincreasethetorquesettinggradually.
5. Letthe fingers openenoughtopass overthejoint. Keephandsclearof movingparts.
6. WiththefingersopenpushtheDuralec
®
over theCVjoint.
DonotforcethedrilloncetheDuralec
®
fingersarefullyopen.
ReversethedrilltoaCLOCKWISE(forwards) direction and close thearms.
7. SlidethebootontothedriveshaftandwithdrawtheDuralec
®
,leavingtheboot behind.
8. Detach the drill and store the Duralec
®
and drill safely. It is advisable to recharge the
battery.
9. Completethebootinstallationinthenormalway.
