Wireless monitoring systems for the textile industry
Barco is proud to introduce a new range of its WeaveMaster, KnitMaster and
QualiMaster systems, based on wireless data communication.
Traditionally, production machines are connected with the monitoring system
through cables. This wiring often proves to be a complex exercise for a plant
engineer and makes it dif cult to move or recon gure production machines.
Furthermore, cabling often represents a considerable part of the budget for a
monitoring system.
Thanks to the Barco designed wireless data collection terminals, bi-directional
communication between the machines and the central system is now possible
without the need of cabling.

Production machines and inspection frames are equipped
with a Barco designed wireless data collection terminal or
interface board. A complete range of data units is available
for the connection of preparation machines, machines with
and without VDI interface and inspection frames.
Up to 32 wireless data collection devices can be connected
to a WDL-Server*, which in turn is connected to the Windows
based server by means of Ethernet. Multiple WDL-Servers can
be added to extend the number of machines.
Machines with Ethernet connection can be integrated by
means of a wireless Ethernet adaptor using the standard
WiFi 802.11b protocol.
Wireless access to the information stored in the system’s
database is available using standard wireless handheld
devices (PDA). As such, supervisors and plant managers can
be constantly updated on ef ciencies, problem looms, warp
and style changes...
