WARRANTY STATEMENT
1 Warranty
(a) Hardware: Barco warrant that upon delivery hereunder the Product hall (i) conform to it pecifi-
cation in effect at the date of delivery and (ii) be free from defect in material and workman hip
(the "Warrantie ").
(b) Software: Barco warrant that oftware written by Barco hall perform ub tantially in accordance
with the pecification in effect at the date of delivery. Software i inherently u ceptible to bug
and error . Barco make no warrantie with re pect to the oftware which i provided to Buyer on
an "a -i " ba i and doe no warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Product .
2 The Warranty Period
(a) Hardware: 24 month commencing on the date of delivery.
(b) Software: 24 month commencing on the date of delivery.
3 Condition precedent for Warrantie to apply
The Warrantie hall apply only to the extent the Product or any part thereof have
(i) been tran ported and tored at all time in the original packaging in the condition a pecified by
Barco ( uch a covered and ecure location, minimum temperature, maximum humidity, …) or, in
ab ence thereof, at lea t in condition con i tent with generally accepted practice for thi type of
product ;
(ii) been handled at all time in accordance with Barco' in truction or, in ab ence thereof, at lea t
with the care and caution con i tent with generally accepted practice for thi type of product ;
(iii) been in talled trictly in accordance with the in truction and direction given by Barco (if and to
the extent the Product have not been in talled by Barco or it authorized ubcontractor );
(iv) not been ubject to not any unauthorized acce , alteration, modification or repair or attempt
thereto;
(v) been at all time "normally u ed" for the intended purpo e and operated in trict accordance with
the operating in truction et forth in the operating manual of the Product in que tion and hall not
have been otherwi e mi u ed, abu ed, damaged. For the purpo e hereof, "normally u ed" hall
mean a regular, ordinary and routine u age of the Product in que tion a intended and/or recom-
mended by Barco;
(vi) been maintained at all time in accordance with Barco' in truction or, in ab ence thereof, at lea t
with interval and in a manner con i tent with generally accepted practice for thi type of prod-
uct ;
(vii) not been connected to or u ed in combination with other equipment, product or y tem (hardware
and/or oftware), which are not compatible with the pecification of the Product in que tion.
4 In no event hall Barco be liable, whether during or after the expiration of the Warranty Period for any
defect , failure , lo of or damage to the Product or any part thereof which are cau ed by or re ulting
from (i) wear and tear or (ii) any force majeure event, or (iii) Buyer’ u e or operation of the Product prior
to the performance of Barco’ acceptance te t( ) for the Product in que tion, or (iv) any action or negli-
gence on the part of Buyer or any third party (including without limitation Buyer' employee , cu tomer ,
agent , carrier and contractor ). In uch ca e the repair or replacement of the Product or any part thereof
hall be at Buyer' ole option and co t. Any Product or any part thereof which i entirely manufactured by
third partie , i ubject to the original manufacturer' warranty and no eparate warranty i given in re-
pect thereof by Barco.
In no event hall Barco be liable, whether during or after the expiration of the Warranty Period for any
image retention ( hadow , dark line and other image artifact ) phenomena on Product re ulting from
prolonged continuou u e of the Product a the e phenomena are immanent to LCD technology and any
LCD di play can how the e image retention ( hadow , dark line and other image artifact ) phenomena.
5 Claim for repair or replacement under Warrantie

Any claim under the Warrantie mu t be notified to Barco in writing within 8 day from the date the de-
fect or failure ha been di covered or noticed the fir t time.
6 Remedie under the Warrantie
(a) Hardware: If during the Warranty Period a Product or any part thereof, fail to meet any of the
Warrantie then, upon Buyer' reque t, Barco hall, at it ole option and co t, promptly and within
20 working day , either: (i) repair or correct the Product or part in que tion; or (ii) replace the
Product or upply part( ) or component( ). A replacement part hall be at lea t functionally
equivalent to the original part. The replaced Product, part and/or component hall become the
property of Barco and hall, at Barco' reque t, be returned by Buyer to Barco at Barco' co t.
(b) Software: Barco' ole obligation hall be to rectify ub tantial malfunction of the oftware (to the
extent technically rea onably po ible) by amending the oftware or upplying an alternative
ver ion of the oftware.
(c) The repair or replacement under the Warrantie cover the co t of material and labor.
7 Return of defective Product or part to Barco and back to Buyer
In no event hall Buyer return a defective Product or part thereof to Barco without Barco' prior written
approval.
Prior to returning any defective Product or part thereof to Barco, Barco hall, in common con ent with
Buyer, determine whether the repair or replacement of the defective Product hall be carried out at either
the location where the Product i in talled or at Barco' facility.
In the event the return to Barco of the defective Product i authorized by Barco, Barco hall i ue to Buyer
a RAN (Return Authorization Number).
The one-way co t of packing, tran port and in urance related to hipping the alleged defective Product or
part to Barco for repair or replacement hall be borne by Buyer. The one-way co t of packing, tran port
and in urance related to hipping of the repaired or replacement Product or part to Buyer hall be borne
by Barco.
The travel time and the travel and living expen e of a ervice engineer of Barco to the location where the
alleged defective Product i in talled, hall be charged to and paid by Buyer in accordance with Barco'
current rate and procedure .
8 The remedie pecified herein hall con titute Buyer' ole and exclu ive remedy and Barco' ole and
exclu ive liability for Barco’ breach of the Warrantie hereunder.
9 BARCO MAKES NOR INTENDS TO MAKE ANY OTHER WARRANTIES OR REPRESENTATIONS, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED,
AND IT EXPRESSLY EXCLUDES AND DISCLAIMS ANY AND ALL WARRANTIES WHICH MAY BE IMPLIED OR OTHER-
WISE CREATED BY OPERATION OF LAW INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF UNIN-
TERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE USE OR OPERATION, AND MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR
PURPOSE.
10 After expiration of the Warranty Period, Barco and Buyer hall, at Buyer' reque t, negotiate in good faith
the cope and mutually acceptable term and condition of after ale ervice to be provided by Supplier.

1Preliminary Remarks
Thi manual de cribe unpacking, in tallation, cabling and controlling of the monitor of Barco' LC erie .
The monitor of Barco' LC erie are ba ed on Super MVA TFT LCD technology and feature bright and wide im-
age with clear contra t.
The LCD panel have 1920x1080 pixel (HD re olution) to allow extreme fine picture at 16.7 million color .
The monitor provide a et of interface to connect any analog video and analog and digital RGB data .
All etting can ea ily be acce ed and modified by mean of the Infrared remote control unit and the OnScre-
enDi play.
RS232 remote control i al o po ible.
The monitor are available with a creen diagonal of 42" and 47".

1.3 Safety information
Thi ection de cribe afety precaution which mu t be ob erved when in talling a product from Barco.
Safety standards
The afety tandard of information technology equipment impo e important requirement on the u e of afety
critical component , material and i olation, in order to protect the u er or operator again t the ri k of electric
hock and energy hazard, and having acce to live part .
Safety tandard al o impo e limit to the internal and external temperature ri e , radiation level , mechanical
tability and trength, enclo ure con truction and protection again t ri k of fire.
Simulated ingle fault condition te ting en ure the afety of the equipment to the u e even when the equip-
ment’ normal operation fail .
General safety instructions
•All the afety and operating in truction hould be read before u ing thi unit.
•The operating in truction manual hould be retained for future reference.
•All warning on the device and in the documentation manual hould be adhered to.
•All in truction for operating and u e of thi equipment mu t be followed preci ely.
•All local in tallation code hould be adhered to.
Installation and preliminary adjustments should be performed by qualified Barco
personnel or authorized Barco service dealers.
1.3.1 Safety on installation
Check the power ratin on your outlet before connectin the devices to the wall outlet or
to a power strip. Contact your facilities mana er or a qualified electrician if you are not
sure what type of power is supplied to your buildin .
The devices are desi ned to operate with sin le-phase power systems havin a
rounded neutral conductor. To reduce the risk of electrical shock, do not plu into any
other type of power system.
A. Main lead (AC Power cord) with CEE 7 plug:
The color of the main lead are colored in accordance with the following code:
Green-and-yellow: Earth ( afety earth)
Blue: Neutral
Brown: Line (live)

B. Power cord with NEMA 15-5 plug:
The wire of the power cord are colored in accordance with the following code:
Green or green/yellow: Ground
White or blue: Neutral
Blackor brown: Line (live)
•Do not allow anything to re t on the power cord. Do not locate thi product where per on will walk on the
cord.
•To di connect the cord, pull it out by the plug. Never pull the cord it elf.
•If an exten ion cord i u ed with thi product, make ure that the total of the ampere rating on the product
plugged into the exten ion cord doe not exceed the exten ion cord ampere rating. Al o make ure that the
total of all product plugged into the wall outlet doe not exceed 15 ampere .
•Never pu h object of any kind into thi product through cabinet lot a they may touch dangerou voltage
point or hort out part that could re ult in a ri k of fire or electrical hock.
•Never pill liquid of any kind on the product. Should any liquid or olid object fall into the cabinet, unplug the
et and have it checked by qualified ervice per onnel before re uming operation .
•Lightning - For added protection for thi video product during a lightning torm, or when it i left unattended
and unu ed for long period of time, unplug it from the wall outlet. Thi will prevent damage to the monitor
due to lightning and AC power-line urge .
Warning: Do not place flammable or combu tible material near the monitor!
Transportation
•Any tran portation of the unopened unit in it packaging hould be done by two per on .
•In tran portation or torage of product in original packing, NEVER tack more than the number tated on the
carton box. Thi warning i al o indicated on the ide of the card box.
•For tran portation or torage, ob erve the warning and in truction on the ide of the card box.
Nearby equipment
If air conditioning duct or lamp , etc. are located near the in tallation ite, the attendant du t, extreme tem-
perature , humidity, and conden ation may become ource of trouble. Plea e take ufficient tep to avoid thi .
Safety locations
Do not in tall the unit where it may be ea ily touched or leaned again t. Avoid location ubject to high vibra-
tion or evere impact . Do not in tall the unit where it i expo ed to humidity, oil, moke or exce ive du t.
Mechanical stress.
Plea e be careful not to apply trong mechanical tre ( hock, drop) to the LCD module. Such tre may cau e
break of creen gla and lamp or may be the cau e for failure.
Pressure to screen surface.
Plea e be careful not to apply trong pre ure to the creen urface. Such pre ure may cau e cratche at the
urface or may be the cau e of failure.

Protection a ainst scratch.
Plea e be careful not to hit, pre or rub the creen urface with hard material like tool . In addition, plea e do
not put heavy or hard material on the creen urface, and do not tack monitor . Polarizer at the front urface
can be ea ily cratched.
Temperature dependence of the display.
Re pon e peed (optical re pon e) of the LCD di play i dependent on temperature. Under low temperature,
re pon e peed i lower. Al o brightne and chromaticity change lightly depend on temperature.
Ima e retention
Di playing the ame pattern for a long time may cau e image ticking, vertical dark line or other form of image
artifact . Thi i a common phenomenon of all LCD di play . It di appear after ome time if the pattern i
changed, or the monitor i witched off. However, image retention i not ubject of warranty.

Li htnin conditions
Con ider exi ting lightning and unlight angle when creating the in tallation layout. Extremely bright lightning
can reduce the vi ibility and the quality of the di played image.

Barco product are de igned and manufactured to meet the mo t tringent afety regulation . Expo ing flamma-
ble or combu tible material into clo e proximity of thi device could re ult in the pontaneou ignition of that
material, re ulting in a fire. For thi rea on, it i ab olutely nece ary to leave an "exclu ion zone" around all
external urface of the monitor whereby no flammable or combu tible material are pre ent. The exclu ion zone
mu t be not le than 10 cm (4"). Do not cover the monitor with any material while it i in operation.
Keep flammable and combu tible material away from the monitor at all time . Mount the monitor in a well

Protection

The LCD module disassembled or modified by customer is out of warranty.
Plea e be careful in handling of di play with broken gla . When the di play gla break , plea e pay attention
not to injure your finger . The di play urface ha the pla tic film attached, which prevent di per ion of gla
piece ; however touching broken edge will injure your finger . Al o the lamp (Cold Cathode Fluore cent Lamp) i
made of gla , therefore plea e pay attention in the ame way.
Plea e do not touch the fluid flown out of broken di play gla . If the fluid hould tick to hand or clothe , wipe
off with oap or alcohol immediately and then wa h it with water.
If the fluid should et in your eyes, wash your eyes immediately with pure water for more
than 15 minutes and then consult the doctor.
