A high-impact, wide dispersion and long-throw cabinet with the ability to fill
many venues without the need for a subwoofer. In Satellite Mode, when the
DV12 is paired with a BASSBOSS sub, its abundant power is used to provide even
higher output levels in the mid and high ranges.
Ultra-wide 120 degree horizontal dispersion covers wide audience areas
easily. Its line-array wave-guide provides tight vertical pattern control resulting
in improved clarity at greater distances. This design also provides more even
sound level over those distances than conventional horns.
The DV12 has the BASSBOSS Invertible Array feature which provides for
coherent summing of two arrayed boxes. This allows the system’s output to be
scaled up significantly without compromising sound quality or coverage. The two
line array wave guides couple to provide coverage for much larger audiences
with only 2 boxes per side.
The DV12 is a 2-way active, powered, processed, full-range, direct radiating
loudspeaker. The cabinet is shaped to counteract standing wave reflections
as well as provide the ideal down-angle orientation for optimum audience
coverage.
The cabinet shape and driver orientation allow for “Invertible Arraying”,
providing seamless, high-frequency summing of two boxes. A very large port
maximizes low frequency performance, particularly at high output.
The handles are incorporated in the back of the cabinet and extend past the
amplifier to protect it in transit. The cabinets are constructed from 15mm Baltic
Birch plywood, assembled using dado joints, screws and advanced composite
adhesives. Stainless steel bolts are used to secure the drivers, amplifer and pole
sockets.
With handles designed for ergonomic and balanced transport, it is very easy to
manage. The cabinet is compact, only 24.5” High, 14” Wide, 18.5” deep, weighs
just 61 pounds and is made entirely of Baltic Birch in the USA.
The cabinet is finished in an extremely rugged, black polyurethane coating.
The woofer is protected by a black powdercoated, perforated steel grill.
The amplifier consists of 2 channels with a total of 3,000W. The amplifier
features extremely high dynamic power capacity, with 150 Volts peak output per
channel, along with high damping of >10000:1 Efficient, PFC power supply and
class D output topology.
The DV12 provides high output and uniform energy dispersion over a very
wide and deep sound field. The cabinets are vertically arrayable in pairs, with
the pairs offering coherent high-frequency summing for extended projection
(aka throw), a tightened vertical dispersion pattern and no loss of horizontal
dispersion or the “comb filtering” associated with conventional side-by-side
arraying.
The DV series is ideal for DJs and sound system providers who need the ability
to scale between two smaller systems and one larger system. The seamless
coupling feature of the DV12s makes them much more versatile than any
other choice on the market because they offer the extremely wide 120-degree
horizontal coverage whether using one or two per side AND the choice of tighter,
the same, or expanded vertical coverage when using two per side. When you
expand to own more than one pair of DV12s, you can use them in multiple
rooms, on separate gigs, or seamlessly coupled to serve much larger rooms.
The vented cabinet features a 12” woofer with a 1.4” throat compression
driver on a 120 degree by 20 degree isophasic wave guide. Ultra-wide
horizontal coverage of 120 degrees helps to provide consistent, intelligible
coverage to audience areas that are to the far left and right, outside the coverage
of ordinary portable loudspeakers.
This extremely wide coverage is made possible through the use of a line-
array waveguide. Along with the vertical alignment of the drivers, this helps to
constrain vertical coverage to a nominal 20 degrees. The tight vertical pattern
provides more consistent coverage over greater distances and minimizes ceiling
and floor reflections, enhancing intelligibility.

SAFETY INFORMATION
Important information regarding safety and the use of your loudspeakers:
Never stand in the immediate vicinity of loudspeakers driven at a high level. Professional loudspeaker systems are capable of causing a
sound pressure level detrimental to human health. Seemingly non-critical sound levels (from approx. 95 dB SPL) can cause hearing damage
if people are exposed to it over a long period. To prevent potentially dangerous exposure to high levels of acoustic pressure, anyone who
is exposed to these levels should use adequate protection devices.
When a transducer capable of producing high sound levels is being used, it is therefore necessary to wear ear plugs or protective earphones.
See the manual technical specifications to know the maximum sound pressure level.
In order to prevent accidents when setting up the loudspeakers or loudspeaker stands, make sure they are standing on a firm surface.
Ensure that all additional hardware, fixings and fasteners used for installation or mobile deployment are of an appropriate size and load
safety factor.
Pay attention to the manufacturers’ instructions and to the relevant safety guidelines.
Regularly check the loudspeaker housings and accessories for visible signs of wear and tear, and replace them when necessary.
Regularly check all load bearing bolts in the mounting devices.
Caution: Loudspeakers produce a static magnetic field even if they are not connected or are not in use. Therefore make sure when erecting
and transporting loudspeakers that they are nowhere near equipment and objects which may be impaired or damaged by an external
magnetic field. A distance of 3 feet (1m) should be maintained between loudspeakers and sensitive equipment such as CRT monitors or
magnetic storage media.
Never attempt to carry out any operations, modifications or repairs that are not expressly described in this manual.
Contact your dealer or BASSBOSS support if the product is not functioning properly.
BASSBOSS strongly recommends this product be installed by a qualified, professional installer who can ensure correct installation and
certify that is is installed in compliance with the regulations in force.
The entire audio system must comply with the current local standards and regulations regarding electrical systems.
IMPORTANT NOTES
To prevent the occurrence of noise on signal cables, use shielded cables only. Avoid routing signal cables close to equipment that produces
high-intensity electromagnetic fields such as transformers, power cables and loudspeaker wires. Do not coil excess power cable. Do not coil
or wrap power cables and signal cables together.

Page 7
SET UP INSTRUCTIONS
1. Place loudspeaker in the desired location. Ensure that it is secure and stable.
2. Rotate the input attenuator knob counterclockwise to the lowest setting.
3. Connect signal via the XLR input jack.
4. Connect the amplifier module’s power supply cord using the blue PowerCON connectors. To insert, align the indexing tabs on the PowerCON
connector, insert it into the socket and rotate clockwise until the latch catches.
5. Connect the electrical plug to a power source.
6. Select the desired preset via the PGM SEL button.
7. Rotate the input attenuator clockwise to achieve the desired sound level.
The DV12 compact full-range loudspeaker’s DSP is supplied with 4 presets. All four presets contain limiter settings to ensure safe operation of
the unit. The presets are accessed in sequence via the preset select button on the rear of the unit. A green LED indicates the active preset. The level knob
provides a range of control from OFF to +12dB within each preset.
Preset Functions:
Preset 1: Standalone Full-Range Operation. 45Hz high-pass filter with bass boost EQ and conservative limiting. Recommended for use when no sub is available.
Preset 2: Intermediate Stand-Alone setting, 60Hz high-pass with slight bass boost and limiting. Recommended for use with a single sub or when
subwoofers are separated from DV12s.
Preset 3: Intermediate High-output setting. 80Hz high-pass with limiting and no LF EQ. Recommended for use when subwoofers are co-located with DV12s.
Preset 4: Maximum Output Setting, 100Hz highpass, minimal limiting and no LF EQ. Recommended for use when outdoors and/or when multiple or larger
subwoofers are present.
Presets 2, 3 and 4 allow the DV12s to be combined with various subwoofer configurations and allow the sound to be tailored to different environments. It
is recommended to listen to the presets and choose the one that works best in each environment.
System Setup Addendum:
When connecting multiple loudspeakers in a system, signal can be passed through from one powered loudspeaker to another using balanced, shielded XLR
cables. No processing is applied to the signal as it passes through from the input to the output connectors in each loudspeaker. Signal can be routed in
any sequence because each loudspeaker receives a full-range signal and applies the necessary processing in order to operate as part of the overall system.
It is recommended to run signal to the nearest box first and patch to the next nearest box in sequence.
DV12 Arrayed Pairs:
The DV12s can be arrayed in pairs, with the second cabinet inverted above the first. Optional hardware is required to attach the two boxes together. The
hardware also allows for adjustment of the total vertical coverage of the array. The DV12 is also equipped with a power pass-through facility that allows
multiple boxes to be connected on a single power source. An optional PowerCON jumper cable is available for this purpose. Using the signal and power
pass-through connectors allows the minimum number of cables to be run to the array. NOTE: Arrayed pairs must be set on the same preset number to
achieve maximum performance.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If after following the above instructions for setup you have no output from the loudspeakers, please check the following:
Verify that the green power (PWR) LED is on. If not, check the following:
1. Is the power cord plugged into a live outlet?
2. Is the Neutrik PowerCON connector rotated into the locked position?
If the power LED is on, check the following:
Is the green “signal present” LED (SIG) illuminating? If not:
1. Is the signal cable connected to the input?
2. Is the signal cable connected to an operating output at the other end?
3. Is the signal flowing to the input? Check the integrity of the cable.
