INFORMATION
Please read this before installing &
using
Any installation work must be carried
out by a qualified electrician or
competent person.
•The hood must be installed in
accordance with the installation
instructions and all measurements
followed.
•If the cooker hood is installed for use
above a gas appliance then the
provision for ventilation must be in
accordance with the Gas Safety Codes
of Practice BS.6172, BS.5440 &
BS.6891 (Natural Gas) and BS.5482
(LP Gas) 1994, the Gas Safety
(Installation & Use) Regulations, the
Building Regulations issued by the
Department of the Environment, the
Building Standards (Scotland)
(Consolidated) Regulations issued by
the Scottish Development Dptmt.
•It is dangerous to alter the
specifications or to modify this product
in any way. Do not tamper with it or
attempt to alter it in the attempt to
customise it further.
•When installing the hood, ensure that
the following recommended distances
are being observed between the
cooker top and the bottom of the
cooker hood:
Electric cookers: 700 mm
Gas cookers: 700 mm
Coal/ oil cookers: 800 mm
Note - Do Not set your cooker hood less
than 700 mm above your cooker
•When installed between adjoining wall
cabinets, the cabinets must not
overhang the hob.
•The edges of the cooker hood are
sharp – be mindful of this as you
handle your appliance, especially
during installation and cleaning. DO
NOT CLEAN IN BEHIND THE
GREASE FILTERS!
•If the room where the cooker hood is to
be used contains a fuel burning
appliance such as a central heating
boiler then its flue must be of the
sealed or balanced flue type.
•If other types of flue or appliances are
fitted, ensure that there is an adequate
supply of air in the room.
•When the hood is being used in its
extractor function, ensure that the
ducting is fire retardant and that there
are no bends sharper than 90 degrees
as this will reduce the efficiency of the
hood.
•Ensure the ducting for the extractor
function has the same diameter as the
outlet hole all the way through.
•Keep young children from using,
playing with or tampering with the
cooker hood. Older children and infirm
persons should be supervised if they
are using the cooker hood.
•Your cooker hood is for domestic use
only.
•Please dispose of the packing material
carefully – children are especially
vulnerable to it.
•Dirty oil is an even greater fire risk.
•Always put lids on pots and pans when
cooking on a gas cooker.
•The manufacturer refuses to accept
any responsibility for damages arising
to the hood or its catching on fire from
failure to observe fire safety advice in

these instructions.
•Remember that when in extraction
mode, your cooker hood is removing
air from your room. Ensure that proper
ventilation measures are being
observed. Note that it removes odours
from your room, not steam.
•Warning - Always ensure that the
cooker hood has been disconnected
from the power supply before carrying
out any work on the hood, including
replacing light bulbs.
•Do not connect the ducting system
of this appliance to any existing
ventilation system which is being
used for any other purpose.
•Do not install above a cooker with a
high level grill.
•Never leave frying pans unattended
during use as overheated fats and
oils might catch fire.
•Do not leave naked flames under
the cooker hood.
•Do not attempt to use the cooker
hood if it is damaged in any way.
Never attempt to use it without the
grease filters fitted or if the filters
are excessively greasy!
•Never flambé cook under this
cooker hood.

The cooker hood is used in the electric
network 220/240 V, 50 Hz.
CHARACTERISTICS
1. The cooker hood is made of top quality
materials. Its shape is rounded and
aerodynamic.
2. The device is provided with an efficient,
nearly silent electric motor; a centrifugal
ventilator characteristic with strong
suction power and low noise level; and
an easy-to-clean grease filter.
3. By use of an insulated control panel
powered from low voltage source 12
V DC, the lights are safer.
4. The special construction of the air
tunnel and the shape of oil catcher
allow catching any free dirt in a
second.
INSTALLATION
1. Before the installation, make sure
that the room is clean - avoid suction
wooden chips or dust.
2. The device must not share the same
ventilation pipe with other devices
e.g. gas oven, heating oven or hot
air oven.
3. The angle of the bend of the
ventilation pipe should not be less
than 120º; you must direct the pipe
horizontally, or, alternatively, the
pipe should go up from the initial
point and should be led to an outer
wall.
4. After the installation, make sure that
the cooker hood is placed
horizontally – avoid collecting the
grease at one end.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR
INSTALLATION
Remember that before you start any
installation activity, you have to decide

whether you want to use it as a suction
ventilator. See page 18 for the explanation
about the differences.
•The cooker hood must not be installed
above the cookers with radiant plate.
•It is recommended to install the device
in cooperation with another person.
Note
Your cooker hood Baumatic should be
installed on the wall only. DO NOT
INSTALL IT lower than 700 mm (70 cm)
above the cooking surface.
1. Remove metal grease filter (see Fig. 1).
2. Set the cooker hood against the wall
and mark the position of auxiliary holes
(you need to bore them, see the
illustration below). The auxiliary holes
are shown in Fig. 2 (over the page),
marked “D“, along with the anchoring
holes marked “E“(Fig. 2 (over the
page). If your type of the cooker hood
is provided with a suspension eye, use
the eye as the guide for marking the
holes to be bored.
3. Bore the holes in the wall at the
positions marked before; use the
drilling tool size 6 mm (see Fig. 3).
4. Insert dowel pins in the holes and half-
screw the auxiliary bolts in (see Fig. 4).
5. Hang the cooker hood on the bolts
(see Fig. 5) and fix it on the wall –
tighten the auxiliary and anchoring
bolts well-tight (over the page, at the
top).
6. (ONLY FOR THE SUCTION
FUNCTION ) Install the connecting
attachment on the upper part of the
cooker hood (see Fig. 6).
After that, connect the discharge pipe
(see below). Remember that the pipe
must comply with the specifications as
listed in the Notes about the suction
mode / air cleaning (recirculation).

Installation of the pipe
After the installation of the cooker hood,
you can continue with the pipe.
1. Take the two covers “A“ and “B“:
2. Place the bottom part of the cover “A“
onto the top of the cooker hood: take care
of
proper position of the cover catch points,
marked “X“, see Fig. 7, against the rear
part of the cooker hood.
3. Install the cover “A“ onto the cooker hood:
use the two bolts “K“(supplied in the
accessories bag (Fig. 7).
4. Lift the movable part “B“ up to the ceiling
- check the perpendicular position
against the cooker hood.

5. Mark the side position of the moving
cover "B" and let it go back down (see
Fig. 8).
6. Now, take the fixing holder “G“ (Fig. 7-
previous page), centre it (follow the
marks), while the holder is still touching
the ceiling, and mark the anchoring
holes ("H").
7. Bore the holes in the wall at the
positions marked; use the drilling tool
size 6 mm (see Fig. 9).
8. Insert dowel pins in the holes, holder “G”
(Fig. 7, previous page), place them
properly, and tighten with the bolts
(included in the supply).
9. Lift the cover “B“ up to the ceiling and fix
it to the holder “G“: insert the bolts in the
holes “M” (Fig. 7 on previous page).
Installation of the glass (Fig. 11)
•Remove metal grease filters from the
cooker hood
•Loosen both anchoring bolts “F“
•Place the glass “Q“ on the upper
surface of the cooker hood and push it
towards the wall.
•Once, more, tighten the bolts “F“ in the
hole, and fix them to the unit.
•Make sure that the anchoring corner is
fixed properly and well tightened.
•Reinstall the ventilation pipe with the
connecting attachment “N“.
•WARNING! DO NOT TIGHTEN THE
BOLTS TOO MUCH OR YOU
DAMAGE / DEFORM THE SHAPE OF
THE UNIT.
Suction function
Make sure you have installed the
connecting attachment (“N“) on the upper
part of the cooker hood by means of two
bolts (Fig. 1 right). By means of a pipe,
diameter 125 mm, connect the attachment
(N) on the upper part of the cooker hood
(see Fig. 12) with the pipe intended for
removal of kitchen vapour, section at least
150 cm2.
Note
If you do not have any pipe able to remove
the vapour, and the cooker hood is to be
installed on an outer wall of the building:
make a hole in the wall, large enough for
installation of a ventilator and a rainproof
ventilation grid, section at least 150 cm2.
Connect it to the output attachment by
means of a pipe.
Note
For the suction function, you need to
connect the 125 mm pipe to the point "N“,
see Fig. 1 above. The pipe is not included
in the supply of the cooker hood.
The function of air cleaner (recirculation)
The cooker hood may be adjusted to serve
as an air cleaner in case that you cannot
install the external pipe for the air exhaust.
If this is the case, the air is recycled
through the airing hole. If you use the unit
as the air cleaner, you have to install two
filters with active carbon in order to absorb
kitchen vapour.

Safety warning
•Never allow children to operate the
device.
•The cooker hood is intended only for
households: it is not designed or
intended for barbecue, fast food shops,
or other commercial use.
•Always ask a qualified technician to
install the device.
•You should clean the cooker hood and
its filter grid regularly – to maintain its
proper operation.
•Before you start any cleaning, switch
the main switch off and disconnect
from the power.
•At cleaning the cooker hood, follow the
instructions in this manual. Prevent
burning the cooker hood.
•If you detect any failure of defect,
contact the service centre.
HOW TO ADJUST SPEED
Electronic button
1. Switch the air input on. You will hear
an audio signal- five beeps. The
sound is just a signal to say that the
device is connected to the power.
2. Press the "Low” button. The indicator 1
is lit, one beep is generated, and the
motor will run at low speed. Press the
button again. The motor is stopped.
3. Press the button “Mid”. The indicator 2
is lit, the audio system generates one
beep, and the motor is running at
medium speed. Press the button
again. The motor is stopped.
4. Press the "High” button. The indicator
3 is lit, one beep is generated, and the
motor will run at high speed. Press the
button again. The motor is stopped.
5. Press the button “Light”. The indicator
4 is lit, and the two bulbs of the cooker
hood start shining. If you press the
button again, the lights are switched
off. Any press of the button is
accompanied with one audio signal.
Buttons
1. Press the button “Stop”. The motor is
stopped then.
2. Press the button “Low”. One beep is
generated, and the motor is running at
low speed.
3. Press the button “Mid”. One beep is
generated, and the motor is running at
medium speed.
4. Press the button “Low”. One beep is
generated, and the motor is running at
low speed.
5. Press the button “Light”: both lights
start shining. Press the button again.
The lights are switched off then.
Movable control element
a) Plug the device in the socket.
b) Move the control element  in the
position “I”. The bulb is lit. Then, shift

in the position “0”: the bulb is switched
off.
c) Shift the control  in the positions “I, II,
III“. The motor is running at “low,
medium, or high“ speed. If you get the
control element in the position "0“, you
switch the motor off.
Touch control element
Start and increased speed (6 speeds)
The motor of the cooker hood is started by
pressing the button 1. At the activation, the
cooker hood is automatically set to the
Speed 1. You may increase the speed by
pressing the button 1 for the time shorter
than 1 second. The speed level is shown
on the screen.
If you press and hold the button 1 for the
time shorter than 1 second, you choose the
highest speed.
How to stop the motor and reduce the
speed
The operating speed of the ventilator may
be reduces by pressing the button 2 for the
time less than 1 seconds. The speed level
is shown on the screen.
If you press and hold the button 2 for more
than 1 second, you switch the cooker hood
off.
Timing function
The timing function allows programming the
motor and the lights of the cooker hood so
that they are automatically switched off
after 15 minutes from the activation of this
function. To do that, just press the button 3.
If the timing function is programmed, the
number will be flashing on the screen.
Light switch ON\OFF function
You can switch the light ON or OFF by
pressing the button 4.
MAINTENANCE
How to clean the carbon filter from
grease
The sieve of the filter is made of very thick
grid of stainless steel. Do not use corrosive
cleaning agents. If you keep the filter clean,
you provide proper function of the device.
Follow carefully the instructions below.

Procedure 1: Put the filter sieve in clean
water, temperature 40 - 50 ºC. Add
cleaning agent and let it work for 2 – 3
minutes. Using gloves, clean the sieve with
a soft brush. Do not push: the sieve is
fragile and you can damage is easily.
Procedure 2: If the instructions in the
manual allow you washing the sieve in the
dishwasher, do so. Set the temperature to
approx. 60 ºC.
How to clean the cooker hood
a) In order to protect the main body of
against corrosion, you should clean the
cooker hood every two months with hot
water and non-corrosive cleaning
agent.
b) Do not use abrasive cleaning
agents: they would damage the
body.
c) Do not let the water contact the motor
and other parts: you might damage the
machine.
d) Before you start any cleaning, switch
the main switch OFF.
e) Do not expose the carbon filter to high
temperatures.
f) Do not open the lock around the
carbon filter.
If the cable or the plug is defective or
damaged, replace it properly.

covering both parts and labour costs
resulting from defective materials or

Baumatic also gives you the opportunity to
automatically extend the guarantee period
for a further 12 months at no extra cost,
giving an initial guarantee period of 24
months. The extended guarantee period
applies to England, Scotland, Wales and
Northern Ireland only.
To qualify for your full 24 months guarantee
you must register your appliance within 28
days of purchase to be covered under this

by a 5 year parts warranty. Baumatic
Ltd will provide free of charge the parts
required to repair the appliance, only if

for any defect that arises due to faulty
materials or workmanship within a

scheme for labour is available should
you wish to extend the warranty

Should any person other than an
authorised representative of Baumatic Ltd
interfere with the appliance, the policy is
negated and Baumatic Ltd will be under no
further liability.
The guarantee covers the appliance for
normal domestic use only, unless otherwise
stated.
Any claims made under the terms of the
guarantee must be supported by the
original invoice/bill of sale issued at the
time of purchase.
This guarantee is transferable only with the
written consent of Baumatic Ltd.
If the appliance fails and is considered
either not repairable or uneconomical to
repair during the manufacturer warranty
period, a free of charge replacement will
not be offered.
The guarantee for any replacement will
only be for the remainder of the guarantee
on the original product purchased.
The guarantee does not cover:
