inst ruct ions and all m easurem ent s followed.
oI f t he cooker hood is installed for use above a gas appliance t hen
the provision for vent ilat ion m ust be in accordance with the Gas
Safet y Codes of Pract ice BS.6172, BS.5440 & BS. 6891 ( Nat ural
Gas) and BS.5482 ( LP Gas) 1994, t he Gas Safet y ( I nst allat ion &
Use) Regulations, the Building Regulations issued by t he
Departm ent of t he Environm ent, t he Building Standards
( Scot land) ( Consolidat ed) Regulat ions issued by the Scot t ish
Developm ent Depart m ent .
oI t is dangerous to alt er t he specificat ions or t o m odify this
product . Do not t am per with it or at tem pt to m odify the
appliance in any way.
oWhen installing t he hood, ensure t hat t he following
recom m ended dist ances are observed between the highest point
on t he hob top (including the bur ner s) and t he bot t om of t he
cooker hood:

oWhen installed between adj oining wall cabinet s, t he cabinet s
m ust not overhang the hob.

oThe edges of t he cooker hood are sharp – be m indful of t his as
you handle your appliance, especially during inst allat ion and
cleaning. D O N OT CLEAN I N BEH I N D THE GREASE FI LTERS!
oI f t he room where the cooker hood is t o be used contains a fuel
burning appliance such as a central heat ing boiler then it s flue
m ust be of the sealed or balanced flue t ype.
oI f ot her t ypes of flue or appliances are fit t ed, ensure that t here is
an adequat e supply of air in t he room .
oWhen t he hood is being used in it s ex t ract or funct ion, ensur e
that the duct ing is fire ret ardant and that t here are no bends
sharper t han 90 degrees as t his will reduce t he efficiency of the
hood.
oEnsure the duct ing for t he ext ractor funct ion has t he sam e
diam eter as t he out let hole all t he way t hrough.
oKeep young children from using, playing wit h
or t am pering wit h t he cooker hood. Older
children and infirm persons should be
supervised if t hey are using the cooker hood.
oYour cooker hood is for dom est ic use only.
oPlease dispose of t he packing m at erial carefully – children are
especially vulnerable to it .
oDirt y oil is an even great er fire risk.
oAlways put lids on pots and pans when cooking
on a gas cooker.
oThe m anufacturer refuses t o accept any responsibility for
dam ages arising to t he hood or it cat ching on fire, from a failure
to observe the fire safet y advice contained in this inst ruct ion
booklet .

oThe lights on t his appliance should only be used
during operat ion of t he cooker hood. They should not be left on
perm anent ly and used as a light ing source.
oThe cooker hood should not be exposed t o a direct heat source
from t he cooking device underneath it , i.e. naked flam e from a
gas burner or heat from elect ric hob zones w it h ou t a pan on
them .
oDo not at tem pt t o use the cooker hood if it is dam aged in any
way. Never at tem pt to use it without t he gr ease filt er s fit t ed or
if t he filt ers are excessively greasy!
oNever flam bé cook under t his cooker hood.

Using your Baum a t ic cooke r hood
Be fore fir st use
I MPORTAN T: TH I S PROCESS MUST BE FOLLOW ED
BEFORE TH E COOKER HOOD I S USED FOR THE FI RST
TI ME.
oYou should use a good quality st ainless st eel cleaner and polish
on ALL of the st ainless steel areas of your cooker hood, before it
is used for t he first t im e.
oThis will help t o leave a silicone w at er - resist ant film t o pr ot ect
the st ainless steel surfaces.
To use your cook e r hood
oMake sure that it has been inst alled by a suit ably qualified
person, as per the inform at ion contained in Baum atic’s
inst allation inst ruct ions.
oFind t he cont rol panel, which is locat ed at t he front right of t he
canopy.
oThere are several butt ons on the control panel, which perform
separat e funct ions.
oA = Speed select ion butt ons
= Low speed
= Medium speed
= High speed

Cleaning
oClean the ext ernal part s of your cooker hood wit h m ild liquid
det ergent and a new dam p cloth.
oNever use abrasive powder, corrosive solvents or brushes.
oYou should use a good quality st ainless st eel cleaner and polish
on ALL of the st ainless steel areas of your cooker hood
oNever inser t point ed obj ect s int o the m otor’s prot ect ive grid.
oOnly clean the cont rol panel and grease filt er grill wit h m ild liquid
det ergents and a new dam p clot h.
oI f you are using t he appliance in recirculat ion m ode, t hen be
sure to replace t he carbon filt er at t he recom m ended interval
( see sect ion on “ Fitt ing the carbon filt er” ) . A build up of grease
could cause a fire hazard.
oNever at t em pt t o clean the area above t he grease filters.
