Important safety information
Your safety is of the utmost importance to
Baumatic Please make sure that you read this
instruction booklet before attempting to install or
use the appliance If you are unsure of any of the
information contained in this booklet, please
contact the Baumatic Advice Line
General Safety
oRepairs to your appliance must only be carried out by a
Baumatic engineer or one o its authorised service agents. Any
attempt by an inexperienced person to repair the appliance,
could result in injury or damage to your washing machine.
oI you notice that the mains cable is damaged. The appliance
must not be used The same applies i you notice that the
worktop, control panel or base area is damaged. As this could
allow access to the internal components o the machine.
oThe appliance should be turned o and isolated rom the mains
supply, be ore either cleaning or maintenance work is attempted.
oThe mains cable must not be used to pull the plug out o the
electrical socket.
oThe machine should not be sprayed with water.
oThe machine should be allowed to cool be ore carrying out an
emergency drain or cleaning the drain ilter.
oIt is possible or small animals to chew either the mains cable or
water hoses, which could cause an electric shock hazard.
Installation
oThe installation instructions contained within this user manual
should be ollowed.
oIt is obligatory or the completed installation to comply with all
relevant building regulations and local water authority
requirements.
oThe machine should not be installed near open lames or in wet
areas.

During Use
oIt is recommended that the appliance is unplugged and the
water supply is turned o a ter the machine is used.
oThis appliance is only designed to wash normal domestic wash
loads. I you use your washing machine in any other way or it is
incorrectly used, then Baumatic accepts no liability or any
damage that might be caused and any guarantee will be void.
oNo attempt should be made to alter or modi y the speci ications
o this appliance.
oThe detergents that you place in this appliance should be
suitable or automatic washing machines. With regards to dosage
levels, the detergent manu acturer’s recommendations should be
ollowed.
oYou should not wash garments that have been in contact with
lammable materials.
oYou should not wash raincoats, bike covers, eather items,
stretch cotton products or other waterproo clothing in the
machine.
oYour washing machine should not be used or dry cleaning.
oI you use either dyes or bleaching agents inside this machine,
then you should consult with the manu acturer o these products
to make sure they are suitable or use in your washing machine.
Baumatic cannot be held responsible or any damage that may
result.
oThe lid should not be opened when the machine is spinning. The
machine will stop spinning when the lid is opened but the tub will
not stop turning immediately. DO NOT place any clothes,
objects or parts o your body in the tub while it is spinning.
Child Safety
oYour washing machine should only be used by adults. You should
not allow children in the area o the machine unsupervised. You
should not let them touch the controls or play with the appliance.
oIt could be possible or a child or pet to gain access to the
washing machine through the porthole door. There ore please
check the drum be ore using the appliance.

away rom children.

Control panel
1) Water level button: Use this button to select the appropriate
water level according to the volume o laundry.
2) Process button: Press this button to set the eatures o the
wash program. Each press o the button will scroll through the
ollowing choices.
3) Preset button: Use this button to program a delayed start to
the wash cycle.
4) Safety lock buttons: Use these buttons simultaneously to
activate and deactivate the sa ety lock.
5) Water temperature button: Press this button repeatedly to
choose the required washing temperature. You can select COLD,
WARM or HOT.
6) Program button: Press this button repeatedly to set the
desired wash program. You can choose rom the ollowing
options.

7) Start / pause button: Press this button to begin a wash
program or to pause a program that is currently in progress.
8) Power ON / OFF button: Use this button to turn the washing
machine on and o . I a program is not set within 5 minutes o
turning the machine on, it will switch o automatically.

Detergent drawer
oOpen the washing machine lid and pull out the detergent drawer
to add detergent powder to the wash program. Then push the
drawer back in be ore introducing laundry into the machine and
setting the wash program. Only powder detergents should
be placed in the drawer
oI you wish to place detergent powder directly into the drum, you
should dilute it irst in warm water. You can then place the
diluted detergent powder into the drum hal way through the
main wash ill. When you li t the lid to introduce the detergent,
you should ensure the machine has paused be ore doing so.
IMPORTANT: Do not place undiluted detergent powder directly
onto clothes as this can cause discoloration
IMPORTANT: You should always use a low sudsing detergent in
your appliance
oLiquid detergent can also be used i it is diluted irst with a lot o
water and then placed into the drum. You should ollow the same
procedure or detergent powder but choose a slightly higher
water level.
Bleaching agents
oA bleaching agent can be used i it irst diluted with plenty o
water be ore pouring it into the drum.
oYou should always ollow the manu acturer’s directions when
using a bleaching agent to avoid damage to clothing.
oYou should always wash the laundry as soon as possible a ter
the bleaching agent has been added. I the bleaching agent is
allowed to sit on clothes or a long period it can cause damage.

Softener
oAn automatic so tener input device is not available with this
machine, so i you would like to use it, you should pause the
wash program be ore the last bleaching operation and introduce
so tener manually.
oYou should always ollow the manu acturer’s directions when
using so tener to avoid damage to clothing.
The amount o detergent that you need to use in your appliance will
depend on:
oThe degree of soiling. Lightly soiled garments in general
require less detergent.
oThe size of the wash load. A smaller wash load will require a
reduction in the amount o detergent.
oThe hardness of your tap water. The harder your water is,
then the more detergent you will need to use. The detergent
manu acturers normally give guidance as to how much extra
detergent should be used, depending on the hardness o the
water.
Preparing the wash cycle
Preparing your garments for washing
oYour washing should be sorted out, according to
the abric type and the wash care symbol that is
printed on the garment’s wash care label (see
separate section on wash care symbols).
oYour washing should also be sorted out
according to the degree o soiling.
oCheck all pockets on a garment to make sure
that they are empty.
oRemove any detachable metal items (badges,
paperclips, sa ety pins etc).
oZips should be closed, duvet covers and
pillow cases should be buttoned up and any loose straps should
be tied up. This will help to prevent other garments rom getting
damaged during the wash.

oWoollens and knitted coloured abrics should be turned inside out
be ore being washed in the appliance.
oSmall delicate items (tights, baby socks) should be placed in
either a washing net or a zipped pillow case.
oCurtains should be handled with particular care. All plastic hooks
or metal strips must be removed be ore being washed in the
appliance.
oColoured items and whites should be washed
in separate wash cycles.
oNew garments o ten contain an excess o
dye, there ore it is advisable to wash them separately or their
irst wash.
oGarments should be un olded and shook out be ore being placed
inside the machine.

oThe wash care symbols should be used to help you to select the
most suitable wash program. They will also help you to sort your
laundry into di erent loads, depending on the abric type and the
highest temperature which the garment can be washed at.

Selecting a wash program
Detergent
oI you are placing detergent directly into the drum, you should
dilute it irst (See ‘Detergent Drawer’ section).
oAlternatively, put detergent powder into the detergent drawer.
Please see the table on page 14 or recommended amounts
according to the water level and weight o laundry.
oFor a normally soiled ull load, dissolve dry powder detergent in
warm water be ore adding.
oUse low sudsing detergent.
Choosing a wash program
oPlace the laundry into the washing machine and close the lid.
oUse the program button (6) to select the most appropriate wash
program or your laundry. Please see the table below or a general
guide:
Wash

NORMAL Regular washing.
HEAVY To wash coats, jeans and other big clothes.
JEANS To wash heavy duty clothes like jeans and work
uni orms.
GENTLE For washing wool or underwear or other delicate
items.
SPEEDY To wash only slightly dirty clothes.
IMPORTANT: A NORMAL cold wash setting should be used for
lightly soiled loads and for normally soiled full loads, a NORMAL
warm wash setting should be used
Selecting a wash temperature
oYou can use the wash temperature button (5) to adjust the wash
temperature or your chosen program. The table below shows an
approximate temperature or each option:

oIMPORTANT: If the washing machine is not connected to a
hot water supply, you should not select the hot or warm
temperature options
Setting the program features
oThe machine will automatically set a de ault wash cycle that
consists o a wash, rinse and then drain. I you wish to program
alternative wash eatures, you can use the process button (2) to
choose rom the ollowing options:
oI you select the SPEEDY wash program, the machine will set a
wash, rinse and spin by de ault. This cannot be changed or this
program.
Selecting a water level
oYou can also select a water level or your wash program, according
to the amount o laundry that you are washing, using the water
level button (1). Please see the table below or a guide to the
appropriate water level or di erent load sizes and the required
amount o detergent.

IMPORTANT: A high water level should not be selected for a
washing load below 1 kg as water can splash during the cycle
Washing load size
oThe water level and amount o detergent required largely depends
on the size o the wash load. By calculating the total weight o your
items you can choose the most suitable wash program options.
oFor a general guide to the weight o various laundry items, please
see the table below.

Beginning the wash program
oOnce you have set the correct wash program, you should check that
the lid is securely closed and then press the start / pause button
(7) to begin the program.
oI you wish to pause the program at any time, press the start /
pause button (7) and then press it again to continue.

Delay start
You are able to delay the start of a wash cycle so the laundry is
finished at a time that is most convenient to you.
oYou should introduce the detergent into the detergent drawer or
drum and then add the laundry as normal. You can then select
your required wash program ollowing the instructions outlined in
the previous section.
oInstead o pressing the start / pause button (7) to begin the
program straight away, you should press the preset button (3)
to set a delayed time.
oEach press o the preset button (3) will increase the delay time
by 1 hour. The number o hours displayed indicates when the
wash cycle will come to an end.
oThe washing machine will begin the program automatically, at an
appropriate time to ensure that the wash program is complete
by the time you have set. For example, i you program a delay
time o 3 hours, this means that the wash program will be
inished in 3 hours.
oYou can set a delay time from 2 to 24 hours
Safety lock
In order to prevent any inadvertent operation of the control panel, you
can set a safety lock to deactivate all of the buttons.
oA ter the wash program has started, press the preset button (3)
and the wash temperature button (5) simultaneously or about 2
seconds. The machine will then beep to indicate that it has
entered the sa ety lock state.
oAll the buttons will be deactivated and the display will show “CL”
with a sa ety lock icon and the remaining or preset time
alternatively.
oTo release the sa ety lock, press the preset button (3) and the
wash temperature button (5) simultaneously or about 2
seconds again. The machine will beep again to indicate the
sa ety lock has been deactivated.

Imbalance control
oI the laundry load is unbalanced when the washing machine
begins to spin, the cycle will stop while more water is added to
redistribute the load. This process may be repeated until the load
is su iciently balanced or the spin to continue.
oI there is excessive vibration during the spin part o the
program, you should open the lid and wait until the drum stops
moving. You should then redistribute the load evenly in the
machine.
oWhen the lid is closed, the spin part o the cycle will restart
automatically in a ew seconds.
Maintenance and cleaning
In daily use
oOnce a wash cycle has completed, you should pull out the
detergent drawer slightly, so it can dry out.
oLeave the lid open or a short while a ter a wash cycle has
completed. This should help to prevent stagnant smells and to
protect the seal.
oClose the water tap.
oWe suggest that you disconnect the appliance rom your mains
supply, when it is not in use.
Control panel and washing machine cabinet.
IMPORTANT: Do not use any abrasive cleaner or household polish on
either the control panel or operating parts.
oWipe over the control panel and the external sur ace o the
machine using a brand new damp cloth with warm water.
oI you ever spill any liquid detergent or conditioner rom the
detergent drawer onto the washing machine cabinet, then these
should be cleaned up immediately as they could be corrosive.

Detergent drawer
Occasionally the detergent drawer should be cleaned, to remove any
detergent residue that has built up.
oRemove the drawer and wash in warm, soapy water.
oDetergent can also accumulate inside the detergent drawer
recess, so you should also clean this out using a brush.
oOnce you have inished cleaning the detergent drawer and
recess, you should slide the drawer back into its original
position.
The washing machine drum
The drum o your washing machine is constructed rom stainless steel.
However i there are objects that can rust placed inside the drum, then
it is possible or the drum to become stained.
IMPORTANT: Do not use a descaling agent, iron/steel wool or
scouring agents to clean the drum of your appliance.
oRemove any rust stains on the drum with an appropriate
stainless steel cleaning agent.
Cleaning the filter
IMPORTANT: Switch off your washing machine and disconnect the
plug from your mains supply.
You should clean out the filter approximately every ten washes
If the filter is not cleaned regularly, then your appliance may
find it difficult to pump out water efficiently.
oYou should regularly check to see i any deposits have ormed,
or there are any oreign bodies in the ilter.
oLocate the ilter lap that is on
the side o the washing
machine drum.
o Remove the ilter cover by
gently pulling it upwards to
allow access to the ilter.

oDetach the ilter rom
the drum wall.
oWash the ilter and ilter cover in warm soapy water be ore
drying thoroughly.
oClip the ilter back into
position on the drum wall.
oReattach the ilter cover by sliding it
back down into its original position.
