Overview
This document explains how to use a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller with the Korg
Pa2X PRO 76-Key Arranger Keyboard.
You can control the essential Style Elements on the Pa2X remotely by using the FCB1010 device.
Additionally, you can connect a weighted 88-key Stage Piano like the Roland RD-700GX utilizing
the MIDI Merge function of the FCB1010 device.
By setting a split point on the RD-700GX you can trigger fingered chords on the Pa2X right from
your RD-700GX Keyboard Controller.
This allows complete hands free operation of the Pa2X.

The FCB1010 PC Editor lets you detect the EPROM version of your device without opening the
back plate.

Note: Korg uses a numbering scheme based on 0-127.
However, the FCB1010 uses a numbering scheme based on 1-128.
This means you must increment the Korg values by 1

Open the SysEx file = FCB1010+Pa2X.syx
Bank 0 and Bank 1 contain the most useful presets.
Expression Pedal A is set to Modulation (CC# = 1)
Expression Pedal B is set to Expression (CC# = 11)

Banks 4, 5 and 6 contains the complete list of remote functions recognized by the Pa2X.

Note:
PC 1 must be set to MIDI Channel 16
MIDI Channel 16 = Control Channel on Pa2X
EXP A and EXP B must be set to MIDI Channel 1
MIDI Channel 1 = Global Channel on Pa2X

Send SysEx Data to the FCB1010 device
Send this SysEx data to the FCB1010
Turn on the POWER on the FCB1010 unit while pressing the DOWN button.
The FCB1010 will power up in DIRECT SELECT MODE.
You can see the Green LED.
The Global Configuration has 4 Modes:
DIRECT SELECT
MIDI Function
MIDI Channel
CONFIG
Press the DOWN button.
You are now under CONFIG MODE.
The green LED under CONFIG will be lit.
Press the 7 button to make the FCB1010 ready to receive SysEx data.
Press OK

Press and hold the DOWN button until the LED counts down to 00.
Your SysEx data is now saved in the device.

Set the FCB1010 in MIDI MERGE MODE
You want the MIDI OUT from the Roland RD-700GX to feed the MIDI IN of the FCB1010.
You want the merged output from the FCB1010 to feed the Korg Pa2X Pro.
Open the GLOBAL CONFIGURATION –CONFIG page:
Make sure the LEDs on Pedal 8 and 9 are ON.
Pedal 8 = Red LED ON = MIDI MERGE Enabled
Pedal 9 = Red LED ON = Running Status Enabled

Korg Pa2X PRO Setup
You must make the following settings on the Korg Pa2X to make it work with the Behringer
FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller.
Mode = STYLE PLAY
Press the STYLE PLAY button.
The Pa2X is now in STYLE PLAY MODE.
