TWISTINYTM
The TwistinyTM is a handy digital enhanced cordless phone you can wear around your neck or tuck into a
back pocket and leave beside your bedlamp at night. It goes wherever you do.
Just press the ONE-TOUCH button whenever you want to do any of the following:
-Place a call any time of the day or night,
-Answer incoming calls, and
-Hang up.

HOME SET-UP
All you need to do is to set up the TwistinyTM
and subscribe to a DECT/GAP basestation.
SETTING UP YOUR TWISTINYTM
Perform the following three steps to set up your TwistinyTM
:
nFlip the power switch to the left using a ballpoint pen.
nPlug the TwistinyTM
AC adaptor into a wall socket.

nAllow six hours for your TwistinyTM
to charge the batteries.
Leave the power switch in the ON position after setting up your TwistinyTM
.
When the TwistinyTM
is on, you will see an orange LED light flashing three times per
second. The orange light means your TwistinyTM
is on but has not yet registered with a
base station.
The TwistinyTM
LED light will flash green once every 10 seconds as soon as it connects to a
base station, enabling you to place and receive calls.
Battery life is up to 96 hours in standby mode.
However you should recharge your TwistinyTM daily.
Your TwistinyTM will beep as soon as battery power is low.

TWISTINYTM REGISTRATION WITH A DECT/GAP BASE STATION
•Connection
Perform the following to connect your Twistiny™ to a DECT/GAP base station:
Preset the base station to REGISTRATION MODE (see Base Station User Manual)
Dial the numbers below:
+ Ø+ # + 1 0000 +
1is the number of the base station and 0000is the PIN code for the base station.
Your TwistinyTM
will register with a maximum of four different DECT/GAP base stations.
•Selecting a Base Station
When your TwistinyTM
is registered with two or more base stations, perform the following to
select which one you want to use:
+ Ø+ 8 + 1 +
1is the number of the base station you want.

SAVING PHONE NUMBERS ON YOUR TWISTINYTM
TwistinyTM
has a speed-dial memory feature. Just press the ONE-TOUCH button to dial the
number stored in memory.
Key in the following to store a new phone number:
+ 1 + the number you want to save +
Your Twistiny TM handset is now fully installed and connected to a base station.
You can now place and receive calls.

HOW TO USE TWISTINY TM
PLACING CALLS WITH SPEED-DIAL
All you need to do is:
nPress the ONE-TOUCH button to place a direct call to the number you
saved in the TwistinyTM
handset memory.
ANSWERING INCOMING CALLS
When your TwistinyTM
rings, all you need to do is:
nPress the ONE-TOUCH button once.
ADJUSTING VOLUME
If you can’t hear your conversation partner comfortably, you will need to raise or lower the
volume on your TwistinyTM
handset as follows:
nPress the key until you find the right volume.

ENDING A CALL
nHold down the ONE-TOUCH button on the front of your TwistinyTM handset
until you hear a beep.
RECHARGING YOUR TWISTINY TM HANDSET
You should recharge your TwistinyTM
handset daily as follows:
nConnect the handset to the AC adaptor.
Your TwistinyTM
will beep as soon as recharging starts. A red LED light will flash once every
two seconds to confirm that recharging is in progress.
PLACING CALLS ON THE TWISTINYTM KEYPAD
Perform the following to place an individual call using your TwistinyTM
keypad:
nPress to obtain a dial tone.
nDial your number.
nPress to hang up at the end of your call.

CUSTOMIZING YOUR TWISTINYTM HANDSET
You can customize your TwistinyTM
using the keypad on the back of the handset.
ADJUSTING THE RING TONE
For greater hearing comfort, perform the following to adjust the ring tone volume on your
TwistinyTM
handset:
nPress
nThen press Øand 4
nNow press 0, 1, 2or 3(you will hear each tone as you press each key). The
0key is for silent mode.

Perform the following to personalize you ring tone:

SELECTING RECEIVER VOLUME
Perform the following to adjust the volume of the TwistinyTM
built-in speaker:
nPress once.
nNow press again to adjust the volume
Your TwistinyTM
has six volume settings (0-1-2-3-4-5). You access them by repeat pressing
of the key. You will hear a beep whenever you have reached the minimum and
maximum settings.
Example: Press the several times and your TwistinyTM
will show: 3-4-5-(Beep)-4-3-2-1-
0-(Beep)-1-2-3-4 and so on.

INDICATORS
OUT-OF-RANGE INDICATOR
If you move out of range of the base station, your TwistinyTM
transmission and reception will
suffer. A beep and LED light will alert you whenever you stray too far.
•Maximum Range Indicators
Your Twistiny TM
handset will beep twice whenever it is almost out of range. Beeping will
continue until you are comfortably back within operating range again.
When you hear the double beep, move back towards the base station. If you continue
moving away from it, you will go offline. The LED on your TwistinyTM
will then blink in
orange three times per second to show that you can no longer place or receive calls.
•Disconnection from Base Station
If your TwistinyTM
is out of range, you will hear the beeps and see the LED blink in orange
three times per second. All you need do is move your TwistinyTM
closer to its base station.

LOW POWER INDICATOR
Your TwistinyTM
needs adequate battery power to function properly. When the battery runs
low, you will hear and see the following:
nOne beep every three seconds when power is low, and
nThe LED light blinks in red once every5seconds.

nClean your TwistinyTM
with a soft damp cloth only. Do not use aerosol sprays.
nAvoid contact with any liquids.
nIt is normal for batteries to warm up during recharge.
nDo not use any recharging device except the AC adaptor supplied in your TwistinyTM
kit.
Never try to open your TwistinyTM handset to avoid creating an electrical hazard to your
health. Return it to our after-sale support service for any needed repairs.
nDo not use the handset in any room or area that presents a risk of combustion or explosion.

The terminal described above was specially selected for you by Belgacom.
Unless otherwise stipulated by contract, the terminal carries a one-year guarantee
covering the cost of spare parts and labour due to a material or manufacturing
defect. The guarantee will take effect as from the date on which the
device is collected or delivered. Travel by Belgacom employees is not covered
by the guarantee unless a technical assistance contract has been signed.
If you should have any difficulties with your terminal, you should either telephone
the relevant technical department indicated above or you should go to
one of our Téléboutiques, bringing with you this certificate and the complete
device in its original packaging or a packaging ensuring a similar degree of protection.
The addresses of our Téléboutiques are in the information pages of the
telephone Directory.
In the event of defective material or a manufacturing defect, your device will be
repaired or replaced free of charge on presentation of this guarantee certificate
duly completed at the time of purchase. Belgacom alone will determine what

repairs and/or replacements will be necessary. The guarantee period applicable
to a device which has been repaired or replaced will end on expiry of the guarantee
period applicable to the device purchased but may not be less than three
months.
The guarantee does not cover:
-damage of any kind, the origin of which is not prior to the sale;
-any damage, malfunction or defect due to a fault of the customer or the cause
of which is external to the device: lightning, voltage surge, humidity, accidental
deterioration, improper use or poor maintenance, failure to follow the
instructions or any case of force majeure;
-repair or replacement of the movable elements (cords, wires, plugs, antennas
etc.), replacement of accessory elements, the regular renewal of which is necessary
(batteries, paper, ink etc.) or the supply of cleaning products.
The guarantee will not apply:
-if the customer personally modifies or repairs the device or does so with the
assistance of any person who is not authorized by Belgacom; or
-if the customer removes or falsifies the manufacturing numbers and/or the
markings on the terminal.
Belgacom will not be liable for any indirect or non-material loss suffered by the
customer due to a malfunction of the terminal such as in particular a production
loss, loss of earnings or loss of a contract.
The general terms and conditions applicable to our terminals may be
obtained on application to any of the Belgacom departments accessible to
the public.
