DESTINAZIONE D’USO
L’avviatore portatile auto, è destinato al seguente uso:
• per l’avviamento di veicoli con batteria a 12V
• per l’alimentazione di salva memorie per batteria a 12V
Non sono consentite le seguenti operazioni:
• è vietato l’uso su batterie diverse da 12V
• è vietato l’uso per l’alimentazione di salva memorie su batterie diverse da 12V
• è vietato l’utilizzo come carica batterie
• è vietato l’utilizzo al di fuori delle prescrizioni tecniche contenute nella tabella DATI TECNICI
• è vietato l’utilizzo in ambienti umidi, bagnati o esposti ad intemperie
• è vietato l’utilizzo per tutte quelle applicazioni diverse da quelle indicate
SICUREZZA DELLA POSTAZIONE DI LAVORO
Non utilizzare l’avviatore in ambienti contenenti atmosfere potenzialmente esplosive o materiali
inammabili perché possono svilupparsi scintille in grado di incendiare polveri o vapori.
Impedire che bambini o visitatori possano avvicinarsi alla postazione di lavoro mentre si sta
operando con l’avviatore. La presenza di altre persone provoca distrazione e può comportare la
perdita del controllo durante l’utilizzo.
Non inalare eventuali gas nocivi sprigionati dalla batteria del veicolo, durante l’operazione di
avviamento del motore.
Durante le operazioni di collegamento, allontanare il volto dalla batteria del veicolo. Il liquido
contenuto all’interno della batteria è corrosivo, qualora vi fosse un contatto accidentale con
dell’acido con la pelle o con gli occhi sciacquare immediatamente con acqua e consultare un medico.
Non far cadere utensili metallici sulla batteria del veicolo, si può vericare un corto circuito della batteria
stessa.
Utilizzare l’avviatore in una zona asciutta evitando umidità.
IMPORTANTE LEGGERE COMPLETAMENTE IL PRESENTE MANUALE
PRIMA DI UTILIZZARE L’AVVIATORE D’EMERGENZA. IN CASO DI
MANCATO RISPETTO DELLE NORME DI SICUREZZA E DELLE ISTRUZIONI
OPERATIVE, POSSONO VERIFICARSI SERI INFORTUNI.

SICUREZZA AVVIATORE PORTATILE
• Controllare prima dell’utilizzo che l’avviatore non abbia subito danneggiamenti, e che non vi siano cavi
scoperti o parti usurate.
• Ricaricare l’avviatore per almeno 8 ore subito dopo l’acquisto, e dopo ogni utilizzo.
• Per mantenere in perfetta efcienza la batteria interna, ricaricare l’avviatore una volta ogni due mesi
per 8 ore. Un avviatore lasciato scarico per molto tempo, riduce l’efcienza e il buon funzionamento
della batteria interna.
• Non manomettere il circuito elettronico dell’avviatore.
INDICAZIONE PER LA SICUREZZA DEL PERSONALE
• Si raccomanda la massima attenzione, avendo cura di concentrarsi sempre sulle proprie azioni.
Non utilizzare l’avviatore in caso di stanchezza o sotto l’effetto di droghe, bevande alcoliche
o medicinali.
Utilizzare sempre i seguenti dispositivi individuale di protezione:
• scarpe di sicurezza
• occhiali di protezione
• guanti di protezione per agenti sici
Effettuare tutte le operazioni previste in ambienti adeguatamente areati ed asciutti.
• Non mettere mai in contatto fra di loro i morsetti delle due pinze (rossa (+) positiva;
nero(-) negativo).
• Assicurarsi che i cavi dell’avviatore siano lontani da ventole, parti in movimento e dal condotto
del carburante.
• Non indossare vestiti larghi, non portare bracciali, catenine o oggetti metallici quando si lavora
sul veicolo.
• Prima di riporre l’avviatore assicurarsi che sia raffreddato raggiungendo la temperatura ambiente.
UTILIZZO ACCURATO DELL’AVVIATORE PORTATILE
• Non inserire alcun oggetto all’interno di fessure o aperture di qualsiasi tipo presenti sulla supercie
dell’avvitatore.
• Per la ricarica dell’avviatore utilizzare solo il caricatore in dotazione. Effettuare la carica
in ambienti adeguatamente areati, asciutti, non esposti a pioggia o neve.
• Non utilizzare mai l’avviatore se la custodia, le pinze, i cavi o il caricatore sono danneggiati.
Se si sentono odori inusuali o se produce troppo calore.
• L’avviatore non deve essere modicato. Le modiche possono ridurre l’efcacia delle misure di
sicurezza ed aumentare i rischi per l’operatore.
• Far riparare l’avviatore solo ed esclusivamente da personale specializzato e solo impiegando pezzi
di ricambio originali.
• L’avviatore è destinato all’avviamento di batterie al piombo acido, non avviare batterie di tipo non
ricaricabili. Non avviare batterie congelate. Non utilizzare per altri scopi, es. caricare batterie.
• Non avviare batterie con tensioni diverse da quelle indicate in tabella DATI TECNICI.
• Pima di eseguire ogni operazione, spegnere le luci del veicolo e tutti gli accessori eventualmente
in funzione.
• Vericare sempre la corrispondenza tra il voltaggio dell’avviatore e la tensione dell’impianto
del veicolo. Eventuale superamento può causare esplosioni, danni al veicolo, all’avviatore ed
alle persone.

• Collegare sempre il conduttore di uscita con pinza rossa (+) al polo positivo della batteria,
il conduttore di uscita con pinza nera (-) alla massa del veicolo.
• Non invertire mai la polarità l’inversione di polarità può causare esplosioni, danni al veicolo,
all’avviatore ed alle persone.
• Non collegare mai l’avviatore ad un veicolo con le funzioni manuali già attive. Tali funzioni
devono essere sempre attivate solamente dopo aver collegato le pinze alla batteria del veicolo,
in questa occasione viene eseguita una verica delle polarità e di eventuali corto circuiti.
• Per la pulizia utilizzare un panno asciutto, scollegando sempre l’alimentazione di rete dall’avviatore.
Non utilizzare mai panni umidi o bagnati.
INDICAZIONI DI SICUREZZA PER L’AVVIATORE PORTATILE
• Periodicamente vericare l’integrità dell’avviatore, del cavo di alimentazione e delle pinze.
• Non utilizzare l’avviatore se è danneggiato, non cercare di aprirlo o modicarlo.
• Collegare il caricatore dell’avviatore alla presa di rete, assicurandosi che la tensione di rete sia quella
indicata sul dispositivo di alimentazione. (Vedere tabella DATI TECNICI)
• Garantire uno spazio adeguato per la ventilazione durante l’utilizzo dell’avviatore.
• A ricarica ultimata non lasciare l’avviatore collegato al carica batteria per un lungo periodo.
• Non utilizzare l’avviatore in ambienti umidi, bagnati, non esporlo a pioggia. Ambienti umidi e
contaminati aumentano il rischio di scosse elettriche.
• Per la ricarica dell’avviatore utilizzare solo il caricatore in dotazione.

Può essere necessario l’utilizzo di ulteriori dispositivi di protezione individuali da utilizzare
in funzione dei valori riscontrati nell’indagine di igiene ambientale/analisi rischi, nell’even-
tualità che i valori superino i limiti previsti dalle vigenti normative.

RICARICA DELL’AVVIATORE PORTATILE
Ricaricare l’avviatore per almeno 8 ore subito dopo l’acquisto, e dopo ogni utilizzo. Se non viene utiliz-
zato ricaricare l’avviatore una volta ogni due mesi per 8 ore. Si mantiene in perfetta efcienza la batteria
interna.
• Accertarsi che non vi sia alcun apparecchio collegato all’avviatore.
• Vericare tramite il pulsante TEST il livello di carica della batteria sul voltmetro “Voltage”:
• Verde “Full” batteria carica al 100%
• Giallo “Med” batteria carica intorno al 60%
• Rosso “Low” batteria carica intorno al 30%
• Se l’indice del voltmetro non arriva al verde caricare la batteria dell’avviatore.
• Collegare il caricatore alla presa di rete di alimentazione 230V.
• Inserire lo spinotto del caricatore alla presa di carica collocata sul frontale dell’avviatore “Input Charge”.
• Utilizzare solo il caricatore dato in dotazione.
• A ricarica ultimata non lasciare l’avviatore collegato al carica batteria per un lungo periodo.
• Non utilizzare l’avviatore mentre è sotto carica.
BATTERIA INTERNA AUSILIARIA 9V DELL’AVVIATORE PORTATILE
L’avviatore è provvisto di una batteria ausiliaria 9V indispensabile per alimentare il processore di controllo.
All’accensione dell’allarme “Err 5” sostituire la batteria.
Per la sostituzione aprire lo sportello posteriore posto nella custodia dell’avviatore, estrarre la batteria,
scollegare i poli e procedere con l’installazione di una batteria nuova.
Richiudere lo sportello.
UTILIZZO DELL’AVVIATORE PORTATILE - AVVIAMENTO VEICOLI
• Vericare che l’avviatore sia spento.
• La non corrispondenza tra il voltaggio dell’avviatore e la tensione dell’impianto del veicolo può
causare esplosioni, danni al veicolo, all’avviatore ed alle persone.
• Individuare il polo corrispondente alla massa del veicolo; in genere è collegata al morsetto negativo.
• Collegare sempre il conduttore di uscita con pinza rossa (+) al polo positivo della batteria,
il conduttore di uscita con pinza nera (-) alla massa del veicolo.
• Non invertire mai la polarità; l’inversione di polarità può causare esplosioni, danni al veicolo,
all’avviatore ed alle persone.
• Se si attiva il led ROSSO di inversione “Reverse” signica che è stata effettuata un’inversione
di polarità.
• Scollegare le pinze dal veicolo e collegarle in maniera corretta.
• Assicurarsi che i cavi dell’avviatore siano lontani da ventole, parti in movimento e dal condotto del
carburante.
• Premere il pulsante START/STOP si accende il led blu e apparirà sul display la scritta “STRT”.
• Entro 30 secondi procedere con l’avviamento del motore.
• Dopo 30 secondi l’avviatore si spegne automaticamente.
• Se l’avviatore non si attiva premendo il tasto Start, è probabile che la batteria del veicolo abbia una
tensione inferiore a 6 Volt necessaria all’attivazione delle protezioni. In questo caso per poter avviare
il veicolo è necessario passare alla modalità “AVVIAMENTO FORZATO” descritto al punto successivo.
• Per spegnere l’avviatore premere il pulsante START/STOP.
• Scollegare prima il conduttore di uscita con pinza nera (-) dalla massa del veicolo e riporla subito nel
proprio alloggiamento.
• Scollegare il conduttore di uscita con pinza rossa dal morsetto positivo (+) dalla batteria e riporla
subito nel proprio alloggiamento.
Se non si riesce ad avviare il veicolo ai primi tentativi, non insistere con tentativi successivi. Prima di
procedere con un nuovo avviamento lasciare riposare l’avviatore per almeno 3 minuti, in modo da evi-
tare il danneggiamento l’avviatore stesso.
• Dopo ogni utilizzo caricare sempre l’avviatore.

UTILIZZO DELL’AVVIATORE PORTATILE - AVVIAMENTO FORZATO PER BATTERIE CON
TENSIONE INFERIORE A 6 V
La modalità di “AVVIAMENTO FORZATO” è indicata quando si deve avviare un veicolo la cui
batteria risulta esausta, molto scarica ed interrotta. ALCUNE FUNZIONI DI SICUREZZA SONO
DISATTIVATE, FARE ATTENZIONE DURANTE L’UTILIZZO DELL’AVVIATORE.
• Vericare che l’avviatore sia spento.
• Individuare il polo corrispondente alla massa del veicolo; in genere è collegata al morsetto negativo.
• Collegare sempre il conduttore di uscita con pinza rossa (+) al polo positivo della batteria, il
conduttore di uscita con pinza nera (-) alla massa del veicolo.
• Non invertire mai la polarità; l’inversione di polarità può causare esplosioni, danni al veicolo,
all’avviatore ed alle persone.
• Se si attiva il led ROSSO di inversione signica che è stata effettuata un’inversione di polarità.
• Scollegare le pinze dal veicolo e collegarle in maniera corretta.
• Assicurarsi che i cavi dell’avviatore siano lontani da ventole, parti in movimento e dal condotto del
carburante.
• Premere il pulsante START/STOP per 7 secondi, si accende il led blu e apparirà sul display la scritta
“STRT” lampeggiante. Da questo momento alcune protezioni sono disattivate.
• Entro 30 secondi procedere con l’avviamento del motore.
• Dopo 30 secondi l’avviatore si spegne automaticamente.
• ATTENZIONE! IMMEDIATAMENTE DOPO L’AVVIAMENTO DEL MOTORE SPEGNERE
L’AVVIATORE E SCOLLEGARE LE PINZE.
• Per spegnere l’avviatore premere il pulsante START/STOP.
• Scollegare prima il conduttore di uscita con pinza nera (-) dalla massa del veicolo e riporla subito nel
proprio alloggiamento.
• Scollegare il conduttore di uscita con pinza rossa dal morsetto positivo (+) dalla batteria e riporla
subito nel proprio alloggiamento.
Se non si riesce ad avviare il veicolo ai primi tentativi, non insistere con tentativi successivi. Prima di
procedere con un nuovo avviamento lasciare riposare l’avviatore per almeno 3 minuti, in modo da evi-
tare il danneggiamento l’avviatore stesso.
• Dopo ogni utilizzo caricare sempre l’avviatore.
UTILIZZO DELL’AVVIATORE PORTATILE - ALIMENTATORE SALVA MEMORIE A12V “MEMORY SAVER”
Nella modalità di “MEMORY SAVER” ALCUNE FUNZIONI DI SICUREZZA SONO DISATTIVATE,
FARE ATTENZIONE DURANTE L’UTILIZZO DELL’AVVIATORE.
• Vericare che l’avviatore sia spento.
• Controllare sempre la tensione della batteria del veicolo.
• La non corrispondenza tra il voltaggio dell’avviatore e la tensione dell’impianto del veicolo può
causare esplosioni, danni al veicolo, all’avviatore ed alle persone.
• Individuare il polo corrispondente alla massa del veicolo; in genere è collegata al morsetto negativo.
• Collegare sempre il conduttore di uscita con pinza rossa (+) al polo positivo della batteria, il
conduttore di uscita con pinza nera (-) alla massa del veicolo. Da questo momento alcune pro-
tezioni sono disattivate
• Non invertire mai la polarità; l’inversione di polarità può causare esplosioni, danni al veicolo,
all’avviatore ed alle persone.
• Se si attiva il led ROSSO di inversione signica che è stata effettuata un’inversione di polarità.
• Scollegare le pinze dal veicolo e collegarle in maniera corretta.
• Assicurarsi che i cavi dell’avviatore d’emergenza siano lontani da ventole, parti in movimento e dal
condotto del carburante.
• Premere il pulsante START/STOP per 5 secondi si accende il led blu ed il led giallo, e apparirà sul
display la scritta “MEMO”.
• Procedere con le attività previste.
• Una volta terminato il lavoro premere il pulsante START/STOP per spegnere l’avviatore.

CON LA FUNZIONE “MEMO” NON ESEGUIRE LE SEGUENTI OPERAZIONI:
• la funzione “MEMO” non deve essere utilizzata per avviare il veicolo;
• con la funzione “MEMO” l’avviatore non si spegne dopo 30 secondi;
• prima di staccare le pinze assicurarsi che l’avviatore sia stato spento.
Al termine delle operazioni riporre l’avviatore in una zona asciutta e priva di umidità. Per la pulizia del
corpo esterno utilizzare un panno asciutto.

INDICAZIONI ERRORI
Sul display appare una delle seguenti scritte con l’accensione del led “Error” vericare i
seguenti possibili errori:
MANUTENZIONE
Gli interventi di manutenzione e di riparazione devono essere eseguiti da personale specializzato. Per
tali interventi potete rivolgervi al centro riparazioni di Beta Utensili S.P.A.
SMALTIMENTO
Il simbolo del cassonetto barrato riportato sull’apparecchiatura o sulla confezione indica che il prodotto,
alla ne della sua vita utile, deve essere smaltito separatamente dagli altri riuti urbani.
L’utilizzatore che intendesse smaltire questo strumento può:
- Consegnarlo presso un centro di raccolta di riuti elettronici od elettrotecnici.
- Riconsegnarlo al proprio rivenditore al momento dell’acquisto di uno strumento equivalente.
- Nel caso di prodotti ad uso esclusivo professionale, contattare il produttore che dovrà disporre
una procedura per il corretto smaltimento.
Il corretto smaltimento di questo prodotto permette il riutilizzo delle materie prime in esso contenute ed
evita danni all’ambiente ed alla salute umana.
Lo smaltimento abusivo del prodotto costituisce una violazione della norma sullo smaltimento di riuti
pericolosi, comporta l’applicazione delle sanzioni previste.
GARANZIA
Questa attrezzatura è fabbricata e collaudata secondo le norme attualmente vigenti nella
Comunità Europea. E’ coperta da garanzia per un periodo di 12 mesi per uso professionale o
24 mesi per uso non professionale.
Vengono riparati guasti dovuti a difetti di materiale o di produzione, mediante ripristino o sostituzione dei
pezzi difettosi a nostra discrezione. L’effettuazione di uno o più interventi nel periodo di garanzia non
modica la data di scadenza della stessa.
Non sono soggetti a garanzia difetti dovuti all’usura, all’uso errato od improprio e a rotture causate da
colpi e/o cadute. La garanzia decade quando vengono apportate modiche, quando lo strumento viene
manomesso, quando viene inviato all’assistenza smontato o quando viene utilizzato impropriamente
nelle modalità “AVVIAMENTO FORZATO” e “MEMORY SAVER”.
Sono espressamente esclusi danni causati a persone e/o cose di qualsiasi genere e/o natura, diretti
e/o indiretti.

PURPOSE OF USE
The portable car starter can be used for the following purposes:
• starting vehicles with 12V batteries;
• supplying power to memory savers for 12V batteries.
The portable car starter must not be used for the following operations:
• use on any batteries other than 12V batteries;
• supplying power to memory savers on any batteries other than 12V batteries;
• use as a battery charger;
• use outside the technical specications contained in the TECHNICAL DATA table;
• use in humid or wet environments, or in bad weather;
• use for any applications other than stated ones.
WORK AREA SAFETY
Do not operate the starter in environments containing potentially explosive atmospheres,
because sparks may be generated, which can ignite the dust or fumes.
Keep children and bystanders away from your workplace while operating the starter.
Distractions from other people can cause you to lose control over the starter during use.
Do not inhale any harmful gases that may be released by the battery of the vehicle while starting
the engine.
During connection operations, keep your face away from the battery of the vehicle. The battery
contains corrosive liquid; in the event of accidental contact with your skin or eyes, rinse immediately
with water and seek medical advice.
Do not drop any metal tools on the battery of the vehicle: the battery may short-circuit.
Use the starter in a dry area, avoiding humidity.
IMPORTANT! READ THIS MANUAL THOROUGHLY BEFORE USING THE
EMERGENCY STARTER. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE SAFETY
STANDARDS AND OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS MAY RESULT IN SE-
RIOUS INJURY.

PORTABLE STARTER SAFETY
• Before use, check that the starter has not been damaged, and that there are no uncovered cables
or worn parts.
• Charge the starter for at least 8 hours immediately after purchase, and after each use.
• To maintain the internal battery in full working order, charge the starter every two months for 8 hours.
A starter that is left uncharged for a long time prevents the internal battery from being in full working order.
• Do not damage the electronic circuit of the starter.
PERSONNEL SAFETY
• Stay alert; watch what you are doing. Do not use the starter while tired or under the inuence of drugs,
alcohol, or medications.
Always use the following personal protective equipment:
• safety shoes;
• eye protection;
• protective gloves against physical agents.
Use the starter in well-aired, dry rooms.
Never allow the clips of the clamps (positive-red and negative-red) to touch together.
• Check that the cables of the starter are kept away from fans, moving parts and the fuel pipe.
• Do not wear loose clothing, jewellery or metal objects when working on the vehicle.
• Before replacing the starter, make sure that it has cooled down and reached room temperature.
PORTABLE STARTER USE AND CARE
• Do not put any objects into any slots or openings on the surface of the starter.
• To recharge the starter, only use the charger supplied with it. Charge the starter in
well-ventilated, dry rooms; do not expose it to rain or snow.
• Do not use the starter if the case, the clamps, the cables or the charger have been damaged, if it gives
off unusual smells or too much heat.
• Do not modify the starter. This can reduce the effectiveness of safety measures and increase operator risk.
• Have the starter repaired only through a trained repair person and only using original replacement parts.
• The starter is designed to start lead acid batteries; do not start nonrechargeable batteries. Do not start
frozen batteries. Do not use the starter for any other purposes (for example, do not use it to charge
batteries).
• Do not start batteries with any voltages other than those stated in the TECHNICAL DATA table.
• Before carrying out any operations, turn off the lights of the vehicle and cut out any running accessories.
• Always check that the voltage of the starter matches the voltage of the vehicle’s system,
to prevent explosions, or damage to the vehicle, the starter and people.
• Always connect the output lead with red clamp (+) to the positive post of the battery,
and the output lead with black clamp (-) to the vehicle’s chassis.
• Never reverse polarity; reversed polarity can cause explosions or damage to the vehicle,
the starter and people.

• Never connect the starter to a vehicle with active manual functions. Such functions should only be
enabled after the clamps have been connected to the battery of the vehicle – that is, when polarity is
checked and any short-circuits detected.
• To clean the starter, use a dry cloth. Always disconnect the starter from the power supply mains.
Never use damp or wet cloths.
PORTABLE STARTER SAFETY
• Periodically check the starter, the power supply cable and the clamps.
• Do not use the starter when damaged; do not try to open or modify it.
• Connect the charger of the starter to the mains socket, making sure that the mains voltage matches
that stated on the power supply device. (See TECHNICAL DATA table).
• Allow adequate space for ventilation when using the starter.
• When charge is complete, do not leave the starter connected to the battery charger for a long period.
• Do not use the starter in humid or wet environments; do not expose it to rain. Wet and contaminated
environments increase the risk of electric shocks.
• To charge the starter, only use the charger supplied with it.

RECHARGING PORTABLE STARTER
Charge the starter for at least 8 hours immediately after purchase, and after each use. If not in use,
charge the starter every two months, for 8 hours, to maintain the internal battery in full working order.
• Make sure that no device is connected to the starter.
• Use the TEST button to check the battery charging status on the “Voltage” voltmeter:
• Green “Full” – battery is 100% charged
• Yellow “Med” – battery is approximately 60% charged
• Red “Low” – battery is approximately 30% charged.
• If the voltmeter indicator is not green, charge the battery of the starter.
• Connect the charger to a 230V power supply mains socket.
• Fit the plug of the charger into the charging socket on the front of the starter, “Input Charge”.
• Only use the charger supplied with the starter.
• When charge is complete, do not leave the starter connected to the battery charger for a long period.
• Do not use the starter while it is charging.
ADDITIONAL 9V INTERNAL BATTERY OF PORTABLE STARTER
The starter is tted with an additional 9V battery, which is needed to supply power to the control
processor.
If the alarm signal “Err 5” goes on, replace the battery.
To replace the battery, open the rear door in the case of the starter, remove the battery, disconnect the
posts and install a new battery.
Close the door.
USING PORTABLE STARTER – STARTING VEHICLES
• Check that the starter is off.
• If the voltage of the starter does not match the voltage of the vehicle’s system, an explosion,
or damage to the vehicle, the starter and people could occur.
• Find the post corresponding to the vehicle’s chassis; this is usually connected to the negative clip.
• Always connect the output lead with red clamp (+) to the positive post of the battery, and the
output lead with black clamp (-) to the vehicle’s chassis.
• Never reverse polarity; reversed polarity can cause explosions or damage to the vehicle,
the starter and people.
• When polarity is reversed, the “Reverse” RED LED is enabled.
• Disconnect the clamps from the vehicle and connect them correctly.
• Check that the cables of the starter are away from fans, moving parts and the fuel pipe.
• Press the START/STOP button; the blue LED will turn on and “STRT” will be displayed.
• Start the engine within 30 seconds.
• After 30 seconds the starter will cut out automatically.
• If the starter is not enabled by pressing the Start key, the battery of the vehicle is likely to have a
voltage lower than 6 V; such voltage is required to enable the protection features. In this case, to start
the vehicle, move to the “FORCED START” mode, as described below.
• To cut out the starter, press the START/STOP button.
• Disconnect the output lead with black clamp (-) from the vehicle’s chassis, and immediately replace
it in its case.
• Then disconnect the output lead with red clamp from the positive battery clip (+) and immediately
replace it in its case.
If the vehicle cannot be started after the rst few attempts, do not try again. Before attempting a new
start, leave the starter to idle for at least 3 minutes, to prevent it from getting damaged.
• Charge the starter after each use.

USING PORTABLE STARTER – FORCED START FOR BATTERIES WITH VOLTAGE UNDER 6 V
The “FORCED START” mode is recommended when a vehicle with completely or extremely at
or cut-off battery needs to be started. AS SOME SAFETY FEATURES ARE DISABLED, BE CARE-
FUL WHILE USING THE STARTER.
• Check that the starter is off.
• Find the post corresponding to the vehicle’s chassis; this is usually connected to the negative clip.
• Always connect the output lead with red clamp (+) to the positive post of the battery, and the
output lead with black clamp (-) to the vehicle’s chassis.
• Never reverse polarity; reversed polarity can cause explosions or damage to the vehicle,
the starter and people.
• When polarity is reversed, the “Reverse” RED LED is enabled.
• Disconnect the clamps from the vehicle and connect them correctly.
• Check that the cables of the starter are away from fans, moving parts and the fuel pipe.
• Press the START/STOP button for 7 seconds; the blue LED will turn on and “STRT” will start blinking
on the display. Some protection features are now disabled.
• Start the engine within 30 seconds.
• After 30 seconds the starter will cut out automatically.
• CAUTION! AS SOON AS THE ENGINE IS STARTED, CUT OUT THE STARTER AND DISCONNECT
THE CLAMPS.
• To cut out the starter, press the START/STOP button.
• Disconnect the output lead with black clamp (-) from the vehicle’s chassis, and immediately replace
it in its case.
• Then disconnect the output lead with red clamp from the positive battery clip (+), and immediately
replace it in its case.
If the vehicle cannot be started after the rst few attempts, do not try again. Before attempting a new

USING PORTABLE STARTER – 12V MEMORY SAVER POWER SUPPLY

WHILE USING THE STARTER.
• Check that the starter is off.
• Always check the voltage of the vehicle’s battery.
• If the voltage of the starter does not match the voltage of the vehicle’s system, explosion,
or damage to the vehicle, the starter and people could occur.
• Find the post corresponding to the vehicle’s chassis; this is usually connected to the negative clip.
• Always connect the output lead with red clamp (+) to the positive post of the battery, and the output
lead with black clamp (-) to the vehicle’s chassis. Some protection features are now disabled.
• Never reverse polarity; reversed polarity can cause explosion or damage to the vehicle,
the starter and people.
• When polarity is reversed, the “Reverse” RED LED is enabled.
• Disconnect the clamps from the vehicle and connect them correctly.
• Check that the cables of the emergency starter are away from fans, moving parts and the fuel pipe.
• Press the START/STOP button for 5 seconds; the blue LED and the yellow LED will turn on
and “MEMO” will be displayed.
• Carry out the required operations.
• When the operations have been completed, press the START/STOP button to cut out the starter.
THE FOLLOWING OPERATIONS MUST NOT BE CARRIED OUT WITH THE “MEMO” FEATURE:
• the “MEMO” feature must not be used to start the vehicle;
• with the “MEMO” feature, the starter will not cut out after 30 seconds;
• before disconnecting the clamps, make sure that the starter has been cut out.
When the operations have been completed, replace the starter in a dry area free from humidity. To clean
the outside body, use a dry cloth.

When the “Error” LED goes on, an error code is displayed, to indicate one of the following
possible errors:
MAINTENANCE
Maintenance and repair jobs must be carried out by trained personnel. For such jobs, you can contact
Beta Untensili S.P.A.’s repair centre.
DISPOSAL
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the equipment or packaging means that the product should be
collected separately from other types of urban waste at the end of its useful life.
Any user who is going to dispose of this tool can:
- deliver it to an appropriate collection facility for electronic or electrotechnical equipment;
- return it to the dealer upon purchase of a new, equivalent item of equipment;
- in case of a product for professional use only, contact the manufacturer which will arrange for
the product to be properly disposed of.
Proper disposal of this product allows the raw materials contained in it to be reused and prevents da-
mage to the environment or human health.
Illegal disposal of this product is a violation of the provision concerning the disposal of hazardous waste
and will give way to the application of such nes as provided for under current regulations.
WARRANTY
This tool is manufactured and tested in accordance with current EU regulations. It is covered
by a 12-month warranty for professional use or a 24-month warranty for nonprofessional use.
We will repair any breakdowns caused by material or manufacturing defects by xing the de-
fective pieces or replacing them at our discretion.
Should assistance be required once or several times during the warranty period, the expiry date of this
warranty will remain unchanged.
This warranty will not cover defects due to wear, misuse or breakdowns caused by blows and/or falls.
In addition, this warranty will no longer be valid if any changes are made, or if the tool is damaged or
sent to the customer service in pieces, or when it is improperly used in the “FORCED START” and
“MEMORY SAVER” modes.

SÉCURITÉ DU POSTE DE TRAVAIL
Ne pas utiliser le booster de démarrage dans des lieux présentant des atmosphères potentiellement
explosives car les étincelles peuvent donner feu aux poussières ou aux vapeurs.
Empêcher que des enfants ou des visiteurs s’approchent du poste de travail pendant les opérations
avec le booster de démarrage. La présence d’autres personnes peut distraire l’opérateur qui peut
perdre le contrôle du booster de démarrage.
Ne pas inhaler de gaz nocifs libérés par la batterie du véhicule pendant l'opération de mise en
marche du moteur.
Pendant les opérations de branchement, éloigner le visage de la batterie du véhicule. Le liquide se
trouvant dans la batterie est corrosif; en cas de contact accidentel de l’acide avec la peau ou les
yeux, rincer immédiatement à l'eau et consulter un médecin.
Ne pas faire tomber d'outils métalliques sur la batterie du véhicule qui pourrait provoquer un
court-circuit de la batterie.
Utiliser le booster de démarrage dans une zone sèche en évitant l'humidité.

SÉCURITÉ DU BOOSTER PORTATIF
• Avant l'utilisation, contrôler que le booster de démarrage n'ait pas été endommagé, qu'il ne présente
pas de câbles découverts ou de pièces usées.
• Recharger le booster de démarrage pendant au moins 8 heures immédiatement après l'achat,
et après chaque utilisation.
• Pour que la batterie interne reste parfaitement efcace, recharger le booster de démarrage tous les
deux mois pendant 8 heures. Un booster de démarrage restant déchargé pendant une longue période
réduit l'efcience et le bon fonctionnement de la batterie interne.
• Ne pas intervenir sur le circuit électronique du booster de démarrage.
RECOMMANDATIONS POUR LA SÉCURITÉ DU PERSONNEL
• La plus grande attention doit être apportée aux actions effectuées. Ne pas utiliser le booster de
démarrage en cas de fatigue ou sous l’effet de drogues, de boissons alcooliques ou de médicaments.
• Utiliser systématiquement les équipements de protection individuelle suivants :
• chaussures de sécurité;
• lunettes de protection;
• gants de protection contre les agents physiques.
• Effectuer toutes les opérations prévues dans des milieux sufsamment aérés et secs.
• Ne jamais mettre en contact entre elles les bornes des deux pinces (rouge (+) positive; noire (-) négative.
• S'assurer que les câbles du booster de démarrage soient loin de ventilateurs, de pièces en
mouvement et du conduit du carburant.
• Ne pas porter de vêtements larges, de bracelets, de chainettes ou d'objets métalliques pendant
le travail sur le véhicule.
• Avant de ranger le booster de démarrage, s'assurer qu'il revienne à une température ambiante.
UTILISATION CORRECTE DU BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE PORTATIF
• N'introduire aucun objet dans d'éventuelles ssures ou ouvertures présentes sur la surface du booster
de démarrage.
• Pour recharger le booster de démarrage, utiliser uniquement le chargeur fourni. Effectuer la charge
dans des milieux correctement aérés, secs, non exposés à la pluie ou à la neige.
• Ne jamais utiliser le booster de démarrage si l'étui, les pinces, les câbles ou le chargeur sont
endommagés; en cas d'odeurs inhabituelles ou de chaleur trop élevée.
• Le booster de démarrage ne doit pas être modié. Les modications peuvent réduire l’efcacité
des mesures de sécurité et augmenter les risques pour l’opérateur.
• Faire réparer le booster de démarrage seulement et exclusivement par un personnel spécialisé et en
utilisant uniquement des pièces de rechange originales.
• Le booster de démarrage est destiné au démarrage de batteries au plomb acide. Ne pas activer des
batteries de type non rechargeables. Ne pas charger les batteries gelées. Ne pas l'utiliser pour
d'autres ns, par ex. pour charger des batteries.
• Ne pas activer les batteries avec des tensions autres que celles indiquées dans le tableau DONNÉES
TECHNIQUES.
• Avant d'effectuer toute opération, éteindre les lumières du véhicule et tous les accessoires
éventuellement en fonction.
• Vérier systématiquement la correspondance entre le voltage du booster de démarrage et la tension
de l'installation du véhicule. L'éventuel dépassement peut provoquer des explosions, des dommages
au véhicule, au booster de démarrage et aux personnes.
• Brancher systématiquement le conducteur de sortie avec pince rouge (+) au pôle positif de la batterie
et le conducteur de sortie avec pince noire (-) à la masse du véhicule.
• Ne jamais inverser la polarité. L'inversion de polarité peut provoquer des explosions, des dommages
au véhicule, au booster de démarrage et aux personnes.

• Ne jamais brancher le booster de démarrage à un véhicule dont les fonctions manuelles sont déjà
actives . Ces fonctions doivent toujours être activées après avoir branché les pinces à la batterie du
véhicule. A ce moment un contrôle des polarités et d'éventuels courts-circuits est effectué.
• Pour le nettoyage, utiliser un chiffon sec, en débranchant toujours le booster de démarrage. Ne jamais
utiliser de chiffons humides ou mouillés.
INDICATIONS DE SÉCURITÉ POUR LE BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE PORTATIF
• Vérier périodiquement l'intégrité du booster de démarrage, du câble d'alimentation et des pinces.
• Ne pas utiliser le booster de démarrage s'il est endommagé, ne pas essayer de l'ouvrir ou de le modier.
• Brancher le chargeur du booster de démarrage à la prise de courant en s'assurant que la tension de
réseau soit celle indiquée sur le dispositif d'alimentation. (Consulter le tableau DONNÉES TECHNIQUES)
• Garantir un espace approprié pour l'aération pendant l'utilisation du booster de démarrage.
• Lorsque la recharge est effectuée, ne pas laisser le booster de démarrage branché au charge-batterie
pendant une période prolongée.
• Ne pas utiliser le booster de démarrage dans des milieux humides, mouillés, ne pas l'exposer à la pluie.
Les milieux humides et contaminés augmentent le risque de secousses électriques.

RECHARGE DU BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE PORTATIF
Recharger le booster de démarrage pendant au moins 8 heures immédiatement après l'achat, et après
chaque utilisation. En cas d'inutilisation, recharger le booster de démarrage une fois tous les deux mois
pendant 8 heures. Ainsi la batterie interne reste parfaitement efciente.
• S'assurer qu'il n'y ait aucun appareil branché au booster de démarrage.
• Vérier par la touche TEST le niveau de charge de la batterie sur le voltmètre “Voltage” :
• Vert “Full” batterie chargée à 100 %
• Jaune “Med” batterie chargée à environ 60 %
• Rouge “Low” batterie chargée à environ 30 %
• Si l'indice du voltmètre n'atteint pas le vert, charger la batterie du booster de démarrage.

BATTERIE INTERNE AUXILIAIRE 9V DU BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE PORTATIF
Le booster de démarrage est pourvu d'une batterie auxiliaire de 9V, indispensable pour alimenter le

Pour ce faire, ouvrir le clapet arrière situé dans l'étui du booster de démarrage, extraire la batterie,
débrancher les pôles et procéder à l'installation d'une batterie neuve. Refermer le clapet.
UTILISATION DU BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE PORTATIF - DÉMARRAGE DES VÉHICULES
• S'assurer que le booster de démarrage soit éteint.
• Le manque de correspondance entre le voltage du booster de démarrage et la tension du
système du véhicule peut provoquer des explosions, des dommages au véhicule, au booster
de démarrage et aux personnes.
• Vérier le pôle correspondant à la masse du véhicule qui est généralement reliée à la borne négative.
• Brancher systématiquement le conducteur de sortie avec pince rouge (+) au pôle positif de la
batterie et le conducteur de sortie avec pince noire (-) à la masse du véhicule.
• Ne jamais inverser la polarité ; l’inversion de polarité peut provoquer des explosions, des
dommages au véhicule, au booster de démarrage et aux personnes.
• Si la LED ROUGE d'inversion (“Reverse”) s'éclaire, cela signie qu'une inversion de polarité est
intervenue.
• Débrancher les pinces du véhicule et les brancher correctement.
• S'assurer que les câbles du booster de démarrage soient loin de ventilateurs, de pièces en
mouvement et du conduit du carburant.
• En appuyant sur la touche START/STOP, la LED bleue s'éclaire et l'écran afche l'inscription “STRT”.
• Procéder au démarrage du moteur dans les 30 secondes.
• Le booster de démarrage s'arrête automatiquement après 30 secondes.
• Si le booster de démarrage ne s'active pas en appuyant sur la touche Start, il est probable que la
batterie du véhicule ait une tension inférieure à 6 Volts, nécessaire à l'activation des protections. Dans
ce cas, pour pouvoir faire démarrer le véhicule, il est nécessaire de passer à la modalité
“DÉMARRAGE FORCÉ” décrit au point suivant.
• Pour arrêter le booster de démarrage, appuyer sur la touche START/STOP.
• Débrancher préalablement le conducteur de sortie avec pince noire (-) de la masse du véhicule et le
remettre immédiatement dans son compartiment.
• Débrancher le conducteur de sortie avec pince rouge de la borne positive (+) de la batterie et le
remettre immédiatement dans son compartiment.
Si l'on ne parvient pas à faire démarrer le véhicule du premier coup, ne pas insister. Avant de procéder
à un nouveau démarrage, laisser reposer le booster de démarrage pendant au moins 3 minutes, pour
ne pas risquer de l'endommager.
• Après chaque utilisation, charger systématiquement le booster de démarrage.

UTILISATION DU BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE PORTATIF - DÉMARRAGE FORCÉ POUR BATTE-
RIES AVEC TENSION INFÉRIEURE À 6 V
La modalité de “DÉMARRAGE FORCÉ” est indiquée lorsque l'on doit faire démarrer un véhi-
cule dont la batterie est épuisée, très déchargée et interrompue. CERTAINES FONCTIONS DE
SÉCURITÉ SONT DÉSACTIVÉES, FAIRE ATTENTION PENDANT L'UTILISATION DU BOOSTER
DE DÉMARRAGE.
• S'assurer que le booster de démarrage soit éteint.
• Vérier le pôle correspondant à la masse du véhicule ; généralement reliée à la borne négative.
• Brancher systématiquement le conducteur de sortie avec pince rouge (+) au pôle positif de la
batterie et le conducteur de sortie avec pince noire (-) à la masse du véhicule.
• Ne jamais inverser la polarité ; l’inversion de polarité peut provoquer des explosions, des
dommages au véhicule, au booster de démarrage et aux personnes.
• Si la LED ROUGE d'inversion s'active, cela signie qu'une inversion de polarité a été effectuée.

• Le booster de démarrage s'arrête automatiquement après 30 secondes.
• ATTENTION ! IMMÉDIATEMENT APRÈS LE DÉMARRAGE DU MOTEUR, ARRÊTER LE
BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE ET DÉBRANCHER LES PINCES.
• Pour arrêter le booster de démarrage, appuyer sur la touche START/STOP.
• Débrancher préalablement le conducteur de sortie avec pince noire (-) de la masse du véhicule et le
remettre immédiatement dans son compartiment.

DÉSACTIVÉES, FAIRE ATTENTION PENDANT L'UTILISATION DU BOOSTER DE DÉMARRAGE.
• S'assurer que le booster de démarrage soit éteint.
• Contrôler systématiquement la tension de la batterie du véhicule.
• Le manque de correspondance entre le voltage du booster de démarrage et la tension du
système du véhicule peut provoquer des explosions, des dommages au véhicule, au booster
de démarrage et aux personnes.
