CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION
1.1 BEFORE YOU START
Thank you for choosing our product. Before you start installing the
mainboard, please make sure you follow the instructions below:
Prepare a dry and stable working environment with
sufficient lighting.
Always disconnect the system from power outlet
before operation.
Before you take the mainboard out from anti-static
bag, ground yourself properly by touching any safely
grounded appliance, or use grounded wrist strap to
remove the static charge.
Avoid touching the components on mainboard or the
rear side of the board unless necessary. Hold the board
on the edge, do not try to bend or flex the board.
Do not leave any unfastened small parts inside the
case after installation. Loose parts will cause short
circuits which may damage the equipment.
Keep the system from dangerous area, such as heat
source, humid air, and water.

CHAPTER 2: INSTALLATION
2.1 CPU
The mainboard includes an embedded VIA V4 Bus processor and a
heatsink has been installed to provide sufficient cooling.

2.2 FAN HEADERS
These fan headers support cooling-fans built in the system. The fan
cable and connector may be different according to the fan manufacturer.
Connect the fan cable to the connector while matching the black wire to
GND.

2.3 SYSTEM MEMORY
Memory Modules (200pin SO-DIMM)
DIM1
1. Align a DIMM on the slot such that the notch on the DIMM matches
the break on the Slot.
2. Insert the DIMM firmly into the slot until the retaining chip snap back
in place and the DIMM is properly seated.

2.5 ONBOARD SLOT/CONNECTOR/HEADER/JUMPER
ATA Device Connector
The mainboard has a 32-bit Enhanced PCI IDE Controller that provides PIO
Mode 0~4, Bus Master, and Ultra DMA 33/66/100/133 functionality. It has one
IDE connector.
The IDE connector can connect a master and a slave drive, so you can connect
up to two ATA devices.
Be aware of that the CF socket on the back panel uses IDE Master as
default channel. If the CF socket is inserted with CF card, the ATA
connector would allow only one device and the device should be set to
IDE Slave.

Front Panel Connector
This 14-pin connector includes Power-on, Reset, HDD LED, Power LED, and
speaker connection. It allows user to connect the system case’s front panel
switch functions.

Serial AT A Connectors
These next generation connectors support the thin Serial ATA cables for primary
internal storage devices. The current Serial ATA interface allows up to
3.0Gbit/s data transfer rate, faster than the standard parallel ATA with 133 MB/s
(Ultra DMA).

USB 2.0 Connectors
The mainboard provides two front USB pin headers, allowing up to 3 or 4
additional USB2.0 ports up to maximum throughput of 480 Mbps. Connect the
2-port USB cables into these pin headers. These ports can be used to connect
high-speed USB interface peripherals.

Clear CMOS Header *
By placing the jumper on pin2-3, it allows user to restore the BIOS safe setting
and the CMOS data, please carefully follow the procedures to avoid damaging
the mainboard.

※Clear CMOS Procedures:
1. Remove DC power line.
2. Set the jumper to “Pin 2-3 close”.
3. Wait for five seconds.
4. Set the jumper to “Pin 1-2 close”.
5. Reconnect DC power and Power on.
6. Reset your desired password or clear the CMOS data.

Mini PCI Slot
Mini-PCI socket for TYPE III B (32-bit, 33MHz), Power supply: +3.3V, +12V.
Mini PCI is a standard for a computer bus for attaching peripheral devices to a
computer mainboard and is an adaptation of the Peripheral Component
Interconnect (PCI) bus.
Many Mini PCI devices are available today: WiFi, modems, sound cards,
cryptographic accelerators, SCSI, IDE/ATA and SATA controllers.
CompactFlash Card Socket
This socket allows Type or Type II CF Card (I/O Card or Storage Card). This
socket uses IDE Master as default channel.
