flashing, pressthe“Up” or“Down”arrowsto change
the“12”to“8”,checking tomakesure“AM” isdis-
played. Tosetthe minutes,presstheTIMERbutton
whilethehoursettingisflashing. Ifthehoursetting
hasstopped flashingbeforethe minuteshave been
set,pressandholdtheTIMER button. Withthehour
settingflashing again,immediately presstheTIMER
buttonto setthe minutes.Whilethe“00”isflashing,
theminutes canbe setto“30”using the“Up” or
“Down” arrows.Whenthe“30”stopsflashingandthe
currenttimeisdisplayed,thetimerisset.
3To start thedelayedcompletiontimer, pressthe
TIMERbutton. The completiontime willflash
briefly andbereplacedbythecurrenttimein the
display,and thegreenTIMERlight willcomeon.
Ifthegreen lightdoes notcome on,and
“13Hr ” appearson thedisplay,you
haveset theTIMERforlonger thanthe maximum
13hour delay.To resettheTIMERholdtheTIMER
buttonuntil thehour settingflashes,andthe timecan
bechanged usingthe“Up”and“Down”arrows.
Ifthegreen lightdoes notcome on,and
“0Hr ” appears,theTIMER has
beenset fora delayedcompletion timewhich is
shorterthantheactualbake time(for example3:50is
thebake timefor SweetBread).ResettheTIMER fora
longerdelayedcompletiontime.
4To canceltheTIMERfunction, presstheTIMER
buttonand thegreenlight willgo out.
5To checkthe completiontimewhile thegreen
TIMERlight ison, presstheTIMERbuttontwice.
To checkthe completiontimewhile theredlight is
on,presstheTIMER buttononce.
6Whenthe actualbreadmakingoperationbegins,
thegreen“timer”lightwillgoout,the red“on”light
willcome on,and totalbaketime(3:50for Sweet
Bread)will appearonthedisplay.Thebake timewill
countdowninone minuteintervals.Whentheendof
thecountdownisreached,abeepingsignalwill
soundand yourbreadiscomplete.The redlightwill
nowbegin flashingtoshowtheBreadmakerhas
automaticallyactivatedthe60 minute“KeepWarm”
function
UsingtheOpti-RiseFunction
Use Opti-RiseFunctionwith larger2 lb.(900 g)bread
recipesonly. This functioncannot beusedwith the
Dough/Pasta orSuperRapidBakesettings. The
recipesinthisbookwerecreatedtogiveoptimum
resultswiththisbreadmaker model.Howeverocca-
sionally,due perhaps toold ingredientsorinaccurate
measurements,your 2lb. (900g) loafmaynotriseas
highas itshould. Inadditionto makingadjustments
tothe recipeasindicated onpage 13,using the
Opti-RiseFunctionmayhelpto providebetter results.
Fiveminutesbeforethe bakecyclebegins,12beeps
willsound andthe 1stOpti-Riselightwill flash,sig-
nallingyoutocheck onthe heightof thedough.Ifthe
doughis covering thetopoftherearbreadpan
indent,DO NOTusethe Opti-RiseFunction.Thiswill
preventthebreadfrombaking intothe breadmaker
lid,as duringthebake cyclethe doughcan“bloom”
anadditional 2inches inheight.
Ifthedoughis notcoveringthetopof therearpan
indent(see diagrambelow), presstheOpti-Rise
button.Thiswill add10minutes ofrisetimetothe
countdownclock, andthe1st Opti-Riselightwill
staylit.
Afterthis 10minutes ofadditionalrise time,andjust 2
minutesbeforethebakecyclebegins,onceagain you
willbe signalledto checkthedoughheight.Ifthe
doughis stillnot coveringthetopof therearpan
indent,another 10minutes ofrisetime canbeadded
bypressingtheOpti-Risebutton again.Onlythe2nd
Opti-Riselightwillbe litnowindicatingthe second
additionalriseperiod hasbegun.Ifthe secondOpti-
Riseperiodisnotchosen, thebaking cyclewill begin
automatically.
To cancelthe remainingrise timeduringeither
Opti-Riseperiod, simplypressand holdthe Opti-Rise
buttonuntil abeep sounds.Thebakecyclewillthen
beginautomatically.
