SAFETY INFORMATION
When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should always be followed to
reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons, including the following:
1. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING
2. This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot
surfaces. Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding,
papers, clothes, etc and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9m) away from the front of
the heater and away from the sides and rear. The heater must be positioned a
minimum of 8 feet (2.4m) from the ground. The heater must be positioned a
minimum of 20 inches from the ceiling.
3. This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced physical sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience &
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning
use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
4. Always unplug heater when not in use.
5. Do not operate and heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater
malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Discard heater, or
return to authorized service facility for examination and/or repair.
6. To disconnect heater, first turn controls to o, then remove plug from outlet.
7. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust
opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
8. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intakes or exhaust in any manner.
9. A heater has hot and arcing or sparking parts inside. Do not use it in the areas
where gasoline, paint, or flammable liquids are used or stored.
10. Use this heater only as described in this manual. Any other use not
recommended by the manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock, or injury to
persons.
11. This heater draws 12.5 amps during operation. To prevent overloading a circuit,
do not plug the heater into a circuit that already has other appliances working.
12. The output of this heater may vary and its temperature may become intense
enough to burn exposed skin. Use of this heater is not recommended for
persons with reduced sensitivity to heat or an inability to react to avoid burns.

13. Don’t leave the heater on unattended.
14. Not intended for use in bathrooms, laundry areas and similar indoor locations.
Never place heater where it may fall into a bathtub or come into contact with
water.
15. Do not run cord under carpeting. Do not cover cord with any type of rug. Do
not route cord under furniture or appliances. Arrange cord away from trac
area and where it will not be tripped over.
16. Connect to properly grounded outlets only.
17. Always plug heater directly into a wall outlet/receptacle. Never use with an
extension cord or relocatable power tap (outlet/power strip).
CAUTION:
Avoid the use of an extension cord because the extension cord may overheat and
cause a risk of fire.

ELECTRICAL REQUIREMENTS
In the event of malfunction or insulation breakdown, grounding provides a path of
least resistance for electric current to reduce the risk of electric shock. The appliance
must be connected to a cord having an equipment-grounding conductor and a
grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an appropriate outlet that is properly
installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances.
DANGER: Improper connection of the equipment grounding conductor can result
in a risk of electric shock. The conductor with insulation having an outer surface that
is green with or without yellow stripes is the equipment grounding conductor. If repair
or replacement of the cord or plug is necessary, do not connect the equipment-
grounding conductor to a live terminal. Check with a qualified electrician or service
person if the grounding instructions are not completely understood, or if in doubt as
to whether the appliance is properly grounded. Do not modify the plug connected to
the appliance – if it will not fit the outlet, have a proper outlet installed by a qualified
electrician.
FOR GROUNDED, CORD-CONNECTED APPLIANCE RATED LESS THAN 15A AND
INTENDED FOR USE ON A NOMINAL 120V SUPPLY CIRCUIT
The appliance is for use on a nominal 120V circuit, and should be connected to a
grounding outlet as illustrated in sketch A. A temporary adaptor, as illustrated in
sketch C, may be used to connect this plug to a 2-pole receptacle as shown in sketch
B if a properly grounded outlet is not available. The temporary adaptor should be
used only until a properly grounded outlet can be installed by a qualified electrician.
The green colored rigid ear, lug, and the like, extending from the adaptor must be
connected to a permanent ground such as a properly grounded outlet box cover.
Whenever the adaptor is used, it must be held in place by the metal screw.
NOTE: IN CANADA, THE USE OF A TEMPORARY ADAPTOR IS NOT PERMITTED BY
THE CANADIAN ELECTRICAL CODE. Ensure that the Appliance is connected
to an outlet having the same conguration as the plug.

HANDLING ALKALINE BATTERIES
1. Should fluid from the battery accidentally get into your eyes, there is a threat
of loss of eyesight, do not rub them. Immediately rinse your eyes with clean tap
water and then consult a physician immediately.
2. Do not put the battery in a fire, expose it to heat, dismantle or modify it. If the
insulation or safety valve is damaged, the battery may leak fluid, overheat or
explode.
3. Do not insert the battery with the poles reversed. Doing so may cause some
abnormality or a short and the battery may leak fluid, overheat or explode.
4. Keep the battery out of the reach of children. If the battery is swallowed, contact a
physician immediately.
5. If the alkali fluid gets in your mouth, rinse your mouth with water and contact a
physician immediately.
6. If the alkali fluid gets on your skin or clothes, it may burn your skin, thoroughly
rinse the aected area with tap water.
7. Do not mix new and old batteries or other makes of batteries. The dierent
attributes may cause the battery to leak fluid, overheat or explode.
8. This battery was not made to be recharged. Recharging this battery may damage
the insulation or internal structure and may cause the battery to leak fluid,
overheat or explode.
9. Do not damage or remove the label on the exterior of the battery. Doing so may
cause the battery to short, leak fluid, overheat or explode.
10. Do not drop, throw or expose the battery to extreme impact. Doing so may cause
the battery to leak fluid, overheat or explode.
11. Do not alter the shape of the battery. If the insulation or safety valve is damaged,
the battery may leak fluid, overheat or explode.
12. Immediately remove batteries when they have lost all power. Leaving the batteries
in the unit for a long time may cause the batteries to leak fluid, overheat or
explode due to gas that is generated by the batteries.

SET UP & USE
INSTALLATION STEPS
1. To install the ceiling hook, tap into the ceiling/drywall the four plastic expan-
sion tubes, making sure to space appropriately so it lines up with the holes
for the ceiling hook. Place the hook on the ceiling so the holes line up with
the holes just made. Screw each of the four metal screws in the holes of the
ceiling hook.
2. Connect the chain to the carabiner and hang on the ceiling hook.
3. Attach the other carabiner on the bottom of the chain.
4. Hang the connecting ring from the heater on the carabiner.
INSTALLATION
WARNING:
1. Ensure that the supply cable is well mounted and that it does not come into
contact with the reflector of the heater, or it does not trail into heated areas.
2. Always make sure the heater is unplugged before installation.
3. The supply cable must be at the lower end of the heater, if the heater is
installed at an angle or vertically.
4. Keep the supply cord away from the body of the heater which will get hot
during use.
5. Do not install the heater on an inflammable surface.
6. If the heater is to be used outside, a weatherproof outlet is recommended.
7. Before drilling, ensure that there are no wires or water pipes in the area
where the heater is to be installed.
8. The heater must be mounted on the mounting chain provided.
9. Fasten the chain to the mounted surface.
10. Fasten the heater securely on the chain.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
1. Ensure the location the heater will be placed is a firm, level ceiling surface.
CAUTION: The hook on the ceiling that the heater will attach to must be able to
undertake a weight 3 or 4 times that of the patio heater itself (5 lbs.).
2. Place any ring of the heater on the ceiling hook to adjust the height of the patio
heater.
WARNING: The distance between the bottom of patio heater to floor must be
minimum of 8 feet, maintain a minimum clearance of 3 feet between the
sides of the patio heater and any object.
3. This electric heater is equipped with one heat setting at 1500 Watts.
4. To operate the heater, turn on the switch on the top of the heater, then use the remote
to turn the heater on and o. The heater cannot be operated without the remote
control.
5. To turn o, first press OFF button on the remote, then turn the switch to OFF on top
of the heater.
INSERTING BATTERIES (NOT INCLUDED)
Insert 2 AAA Alkaline type batteries into your remote control.
Flip the backside of your remote control and pull out battery cover.
Insert the batteries in accordance with the instructions and polarity the batteries.
Change the batteries in the same way depicted above.

BEFORE YOU CALL FOR SERVICE
IF THE HEATER/FAN FAILS TO OPERATE:
A) Check to make sure that the heater/fan is plugged in securely. If it is not, remove
the plug from the outlet, and plug it in again securely.
B) Check for a blown circuit fuse or a tripped main circuit breaker. If these seem to
be operating properly, test the outlet with another appliance.
C) Check if electricity to the main power switch in the back of the unit appears to
be working.
D) Make sure the heater is in the upright position.
IF NONE OF THE ABOVE SOLVES THE PROBLEM, CONTACT A QUALIFIED
TECHNICIAN. DO NOT TRY TO ADJUST OR REPAIR THE HEATER/FAN
YOURSELF.

that the product will be free from defects in material,
parts and workmanship for the period designated for
this product. The warranty commences the day the
product is purchased and covers up to a period of 1
year (12 months) for labor/1 year (12 months) for parts
(manufacturing defects only).
W Appliance Co. agrees that it will, at its option,
replace the defective product with either a new
or remanufactured unit equivalent to your original
purchase during the warranty period.
Exclusions: This warranty does not apply if any of the
following conditions exist:

Lors de l’utilisation d’appareils électriques, des précautions de base doivent

2. Ce chauage est chaud lorsqu’il est utilisé. Pour éviter les brûlures, ne laissez pas
la peau nue toucher les surfaces chaudes. Gardez les matériaux combustibles,

rideaux à au moins 3 pieds de l’avant du chauage. L’chauage doit être placé à
un minimum de 8 pieds du sol et à un minimum de 1.65 pieds du plafond.
3. Cet appareil n’est pas destiné à être utilisé par des personnes (y compris les
enfants) ayant des capacités physiques sensorielles ou mentales réduites ou
un manque d’expérience et de connaissances, à moins qu’elles n’aient reçu une
supervision ou des instructions concernant l’utilisation de l’appareil par une

4. Débranchez toujours l’chauage lorsqu’il n’est pas utilisé.

9. Un chauage a des pièces chaudes et produisant des arcs ou des étincelles à
l’intérieur. Ne l’utilisez pas dans les zones où de l’essence, de la peinture ou des
liquides inflammables sont utilisés ou rangés.
10. Utilisez ce chauage uniquement comme décrit dans ce manuel. Toute autre

12. Le rendement de ce chauage peut varier et sa température peut devenir
susamment intense pour brûler la peau exposée. L’utilisation de ce chauage
n’est pas recommandée pour les personnes ayant une sensibilité réduite à la
chaleur ou une incapacité à réagir pour éviter les brûlures.
13. Ne laissez pas le chauage allumé sans surveillance.
14. Non destiné à être utilisé dans les salles de bains, les buanderies et les endroits
intérieurs similaires. Ne placez jamais l’appareil de chauage à un endroit où il
pourrait tomber dans une baignoire ou entrer en contact avec de l’eau.
15. Ne faites pas passer le cordon sous la moquette. Ne couvrez pas le cordon avec
n’importe quel type de tapis. Ne faites pas passer le cordon sous les meubles ou
les appareils électroménagers. Disposez le cordon loin de la zone de circulation

17. Branchez toujours l’appareil de chauage directement dans une prise murale/
réceptacle. Ne jamais utiliser avec une rallonge ou une prise d’alimentation
amovible (prise/multiprise).

EXIGENCES ÉLECTRIQUES
En cas de mauvais fonctionnement ou de rupture d’isolation, la mise à la terre fournit un chemin
de moindre résistance pour le courant électrique afin de réduire le risque de choc électrique.
L’appareil doit être connecté à un cordon doté d’un conducteur de mise à la terre de l’équipement
et d’une fiche de mise à la terre. La fiche doit être branchée dans une prise appropriée qui est
correctement installée et mise à la terre conformément à tous les codes et ordonnances locaux.
DANGER: Une mauvaise connexion du conducteur de mise à la terre de
l’équipement peut entraîner un risque de choc électrique. Le conducteur avec
isolation ayant une surface extérieure verte avec ou sans rayures jaunes est le
conducteur de mise à la terre de l’équipement. Si la réparation ou le remplacement
du cordon ou de la fiche est nécessaire, ne connectez pas le conducteur de mise à

terre. Ne modifiez pas la fiche connectée à l’appareil - si elle ne correspond pas à la

L’appareil est destiné à être utilisé sur un circuit nominal de 120 V et doit être
connecté à une prise de terre qui ressemble à celle illustrée sur le croquis A. Un
adaptateur temporaire, qui ressemble à l’adaptateur illustré sur le croquis C, peut être
utilisé pour connecter cette fiche à une prise bipolaire comme indiqué sur le croquis B
si une prise correctement mise à la terre n’est pas disponible. L’adaptateur temporaire
ne doit être utilisé que jusqu’à ce qu’une prise correctement mise à la terre puisse être
installée par un électricien qualifié. L’oreille rigide de couleur verte, la cosse et autres,
s’étendant de l’adaptateur doivent être connectés à une terre permanente telle qu’un
couvercle de boîte de sortie correctement mis à la terre. Chaque fois que l’adaptateur
est utilisé, il doit être maintenu en place par la vis métallique.

AVERTISSEMENT : POUR RÉDUIRE LE RISQUE D’INCENDIE:
1. Ne placez pas d’objets tels que des meubles, des papiers, des vêtements et des
rideaux à moins de 3 pieds de l’avant du radiateur et gardez-les éloignés des
côtés et de l’arrière lorsque le radiateur est branché.
2. Ne placez pas le radiateur près d’un lit car des objets tels que des oreillers ou
des couvertures peuvent tomber du lit et être enflammés par le radiateur.
3. Débranchez toujours le radiateur s’il n’est pas utilisé.
4. Évitez d’utiliser une rallonge car la rallonge peut surchauer et entraîner un
risque d’incendie. Cependant, si vous devez utiliser une rallonge, le cordon doit
être de taille minimale n°14 AWG et d’une puissance nominale d’au moins 1875
watts.

MANIPULATION DES PILES ALCALINES
1. Si le liquide de la pile entre accidentellement dans vos yeux, il y a une menace de
perte de la vue, ne pas les frotter. Rincez immédiatement les yeux avec de l’eau
propre du robinet et consultez immédiatement un médecin.
2. Ne mettez pas la pile au feu, ne l’exposez pas à la chaleur, ne la démontez pas et ne
la modifiez pas. Si l’isolation ou la soupape de sécurité est endommagée, la pile
peut fuir, surchauer ou exploser.
3. N’insérez pas la pile avec les pôles inversés. Cela pourrait provoquer une anomalie
ou un court-circuit et la pile pourrait fuir, surchauer ou exploser.
4. Gardez la pile hors de portée des enfants. Si la pile est avalée, contactez
immédiatement un médecin.
5. Si le liquide alcalin pénètre dans votre bouche, rincez-vous la bouche avec de l’eau
et contactez immédiatement un médecin.
6. Si le liquide alcalin s’infiltre sur la peau ou les vêtements, cela peut brûler votre
peau, rincer abondamment la zone aectée avec de l’eau du robinet.
7. Ne mélangez pas des piles neuves et usagées ou d’autres marques de piles. Les
diérents attributs peuvent entraîner une fuite de la pile, une surchaue ou une
explosion.
8. Cette pile n’a pas été faite pour être rechargée. Recharger cette pile peut
endommager l’isolation ou la structure interne et provoquer une fuite de liquide,
une surchaue ou une explosion de la pile.
9. Ne pas endommager ou enlever l’étiquette sur l’extérieur de la pile. Cela peut
provoquer un court-circuit de la pile, une fuite de liquide, une surchaue ou une
explosion.
10. Ne pas laisser tomber, jeter ou exposer la pile à un impact extrême. Cela pourrait
entraîner une fuite de la pile, une surchaue ou une explosion.
11. Ne modifiez pas la forme de la pile. Si l’isolation ou la soupape de sécurité est
endommagée, la pile peut fuir, surchauer ou exploser.
12. Retirez immédiatement les piles quand elles ont perdu toute leur puissance. Si
vous laissez les piles dans l’appareil pendant une longue période, les piles risquent
de fuir, de surchauer ou d’exploser à cause du gaz produit par les piles.
