Secure Rack Modem. It uses the
Public Standard Telephone
Network (PSTN) to trans er data
at modem speeds o 33.6 kbps.
Two models are available: one
or 115 VAC and one or 48 VDC.
The modem can store up to
100 individual passwords and
dialback numbers in non-volatile
memory. Designed or remote
sites, the modem always resets
itsel to answer on the speci ied
number o rings. The modem is
also set to a ixed baud rate at the
modem port.

No external AT commands are
required to con igure the Secure
Rack Modem upon power-up, so
you can easily use it with
equipment that cannot send an
AT setup string.
Password and/or Dial-Back Entry
The user directory stores up to
100 user names with individual
password and optional dialback
number. When the modem
answers, it sends an Enter
Password prompt. I the caller
enters the correct password, the
modem opens the path to the
connected equipment. I the
directory password ield contains
a dialback number, the modem
will hang up a ter receiving the
password, dial the number, and
open the connection path when
the called modem answers.
Access Tracking
An audit trail log tracks valid
and/or invalid password
connections, the time and date o
each connection and the duration
o the call. The modem stores a
snapshot o the last 100
connections. Only the system
administrator can view this
snapshot.
Local or Remote Configuration
You can con igure the system
locally via a serial DB9 console
port on the modem. Alternately,
the system administrator can
con igure the modem remotely.
This allows the administrator to
communicate to a secondary
serial device other than the
modem port, such as a reboot
switch.
