fEvite las condiciones ambientales peligrosas.

fMantenga a los niños alejados. Los visitantes deben
mantenerse a distancia del área de trabajo.

fUse anteojos de seguridad y cualquier otro
equipo de seguridad. Use anteojos protectores
o lentes de seguridad con protección lateral que
cumplan con las normas de seguridad aplicables y,
de ser necesario, un protector facial. Utilice también
máscaras faciales o para polvo si la operación
produce polvillo. Esto se aplica a todas las personas
que se encuentren en el área de trabajo. Utilice
también un casco, protección auditiva, guantes,
calzado de seguridad y sistemas de recolección de
polvo cuando así se especifique o requiera.
fNo tire del cable. Nunca transporte el aparato
por el cable ni lo jale para desconectarlo del
tomacorriente. Mantenga el cable alejado del calor,
el aceite y los bordes afilados.

de realizar un mantenimiento y al cambiar accesorios

Asegúrese de que el interruptor esté apagado cuando

fEl enfriamiento correcto es fundamental al operar
el conversor. No coloque la unidad cerca de los

exige. Un cable de menor capacidad provocará una

El conversor tiene características de seguridad como
apagado de sobrevoltaje de entrada, apagado de voltaje
bajo de entrada, alarma de voltaje bajo de entrada,
reanudación de apagado de voltaje bajo, auto seguro
de sobrecalentamiento, auto seguro de sobrecarga,
protección de corto circuito, fusible CD de respaldo interno
integrado. El indicador LED desplegará directamente la
energía de entrada y los errores. Esta unidad no está
diseñada para que sea a prueba de agua.
INSTRUCCIONES IMPORTANTES
DE SEGURIDAD

fNo realice conexiones o desconexiones eléctricas

fDesenchufe el aparato de la tira del tomacorriente
o apague el conversor antes de trabajar en el
aparato. Varias cintas de la potencia de salida con
interruptores e interruptores automáticos sólo
interrumpen la potencia en los terminales del
tomacorriente “caliente”. Los terminales “neutros”
siguen alimentándose en relación con los terminales
“a tierra”.
fNo intente conectar o configurar la unidad o sus

fAl utilizar esta unidad en un vehículo, revise el
manual del usuario del vehículo para ver el máximo
rango de potencia y la salida recomendada. Tal vez
sea necesario cambiar el fusible en línea del
tomacorriente del vehículo a un rango mayor. No
lo instale en el compartimiento del motor. Instálelo
en un área bien ventilada.
fNo lo utilice con sistemas eléctricos con positivo
a tierra*. La conexión de polaridad inversa hará
que un fusible se queme y puede causar un daño
permanente al conversor y anulará la garantía.
*La mayoría de los automóviles, vehículos recreativos
y camiones modernos posee un negativo a tierra.
fTenga en cuenta que este conversor no funcionará
con aparatos o equipos de alta potencia en Watts que
produzcan calor, como secadores de cabello, hornos
de microondas y tostadores.
fNo abra el conversor: no hay piezas que el usuario
pueda reparar en su interior.
fNo utilice este conversor con dispositivos médicos.
No se ha comprobado su funcionamiento en
aplicaciones médicas.

Este manual contiene instrucciones importantes de
seguridad y de operación para el conversor de 750W
con puerto de carga USB (PI750LA).

fSiga estas instrucciones y las publicadas por el
fabricante de la batería y de cualquier equipo que
tenga la intención de utilizar con esta unidad. Revise
las indicaciones sobre precauciones en estos
productos y en el motor.
INTRODUCCIÓN
Gracias por comprar el Sistema de Energía del Vehículo
Conversor Eléctrico de 750W con Puerto de Carga
USB (PI750LA). Este conversor puede utilizarse para
operar productos electrónicos personales, como:
Computadoras portátiles, cámaras digitales o filmadoras,
reproductores de MP3, teléfonos celulares, agendas
electrónicas y más. También puede utilizarse para
recargar dispositivos de CA que tengan un adaptador de
recarga apropiado con un enchufe de dos o tres patas
estadounidense estándar. Lea este manual de instrucciones
detenidamente antes de utilizar la unidad para garantizar
su óptimo rendimiento y evitar dañar el producto.
CARACTERÍSTICAS (Fig. A y B)
1. Terminal positivo DC: Conecte la terminal roja del
cable de alimentación de CC
2. Aperturas de ventilación y del ventilador de
enfriamiento: El ventilador de enfriamiento
de alta velocidad protege el conversor de
sobrecalentamiento.
3. Terminal negativo DC: Conecte la terminal negra
del Cable de alimentación de CC
4. Indicador LED verde: Cuando hay una entrada de
energía CD, se ilumina el indicador LED verde.
5. Indicador LED rojo: Cuando tiene un paro el
conversor debido a un voltaje de entrada bajo o alto,
se ilumina el indicador LED de rojo.
6. Botón del interruptor de energía: Conectar el
conversor a la energía CD y presione hacia abajo
el botón del interruptor de energía y estará disponible
la energía CA.
7. Salidas CA: Le permiten conectar productos de 220V (B2C)
y 120V (B3) con un total continuo de 750W o menos.
8. Puerto USB: Ofrece energía 5V para el equipo USB.
9. Aperturas de ventilación: Las Aperturas de
ventilación no deben estar cubiertas en ningún
momento mientras esté operando el conversor.
10. El cable CD con clips: Conecte el clip rojo a la
terminal positiva de la batería, y el negro a la negativa.
SUGERENCIAS DE OPERACIÓN
El conversor sólo debe operarse en lugares:
a. Secos: No permita que el agua u otros líquidos
entren en contacto con el conversor.
b. Frescos: La temperatura ambiente debe estar entre
0°C y 40°C (32°F y 104°F). Mantenga el conversor
lejos de la luz solar directa siempre que sea posible.
c. Bien ventilados: Mantenga el área que rodea el
conversor limpia para garantizar la libre circulación
de aire alrededor de la unidad. No coloque artículos

en o sobre el conversor durante su funcionamiento.
La unidad se apagará si la temperatura interna
se eleva demasiado. El conversor se reiniciará
automáticamente después de enfriarse.
d. Seguros: No utilice el conversor cerca de materiales
inflamables o en lugares donde se puedan acumular
vapores o gases inflamables. Éste es un aparato
eléctrico que puede generar chispas durante breves
períodos si se establecen conexiones eléctricas o
éstas se rompen.
Su conversor de energía de 750W suministra energía
continua con 1500W de energía de sobretensión. Cuando
enciende un dispositivo o una herramienta que opera
utilizando un motor o tubos, se requiere una sobretensión
inicial de energía para el arranque. Esta sobretensión
de energía se conoce como “carga de arranque” o
“carga pico”. Una vez que se enciende, la herramienta
o dispositivo requiere menos energía para continuar
operando. Ésta es conocida como la “carga continua”
en términos de requerimiento de energía. Requerirá
determinar cuánta energía requiere su herramienta
o dispositivo para el arranque y sus requerimientos
continuos de energía de operación.
El conversor debe conectarse a su enchufe de salida
de energía de 12V. Recomendamos que el equipo o
dispositivo esté en la posición de “APAGADO” antes de
conectarlo en el receptáculo CA del conversor. La luz
del indicador LED verde confirma que está presente la
energía CA.
1. Fije el conector tipo anillo marcado con rojo a la
terminal POSITIVA (+) CD en el conversor de energía
y fije el conector del anillo marcado con negro a la
terminal CD (-) NEGATIVA.
¡Precaución! Invertir la polaridad dará por resultado
un fusible fundido o daños al conversor, que también
podría anular la garantía.
2. Apretar la tuerca en cada terminal CD a mano hasta
que apriete. No sobreapretar.
3. Fije el clip (negro) NEGATIVO a la terminal
de la batería (-) NEGATIVO.
4. Fije el clip (rojo) POSITIVO a la terminal de la batería
(+) POSITIVO. Asegúrese que ambos clips estén
conectados en forma segura a las terminales de la
batería, ya que una conexión suelta podría ocasionar
que el voltaje caiga y podría ocasionar que se
sobrecalienten los cables, dando por resultado daños
al equipo o incendio.
5. Encienda el conversor.
6. Cuando no esté en uso el conversor de energía,
desconecte los clips del cable CD de la batería para
evitar una ligera descarga de la batería.
OPERAR EL CONVERSOR
1. Cuando esté conectado adecuadamente a una salida
12V, encender el conversor, iluminará la luz del
indicador LED verde, y suministrará energía CA a
las salida(s).
2. Conecte el producto(s) CA que desea operar con la
salida(s) CA y conéctelas una a la vez.
¡Precaución! Si hay más productos de CA conectados
al conversor, primero encienda el producto eléctrico
más grande.
A través de su salida CA, el conversor es capaz de energizar
la mayoría de los productos de 220V (B2C) y 120V (B3)
que utilizan 750W o menos. La unidad operará desde
voltajes de entrada que van de 11V a 14,5V CD.
Conforme se está utilizando la batería, el voltaje comienza
a caer. Cuando el conversor detecta que ha caído el voltaje
en su entrada CD al rango de 10,7V ~ 11,3V CD, suena
una alarma audible. Esto le da tiempo a las computadoras
u otros dispositivos sensibles a apagarse. Si se ignora la
alarma audible, el conversor se apagará automáticamente
cuando el voltaje caiga a un rango de 10,2V ~ 10,8V CD.
El indicador LED rojo se ilumina, indicando una falla. Esto
protege la batería de sobrecargarse. Apague cualesquier
dispositivos que esté energizando el conversor. Cuando se
eleva el voltaje de entrada a 11,7V ~ 12,3V, el conversor se
restablece normal
¡Precaución! La mayoría de las baterías de vehículo
están diseñadas para proporcionar un periodo corto de
corriente muy alta para encender el motor. No están
diseñadas para una “descarga profunda” constante.
Operar constantemente la unidad desde una batería del
vehículo hasta que se apague el voltaje bajo afectará
la vida útil de la batería. Si está operando productos
eléctricos durante periodos prolongados de tiempo debe
considerar conectar la unidad a una batería de descarga
profunda separada.
Si un sistema de carga defectuoso de batería ocasiona
que se eleve el voltaje de la batería al rango de 15V ~
16V CD, el conversor se apagará automáticamente y se
iluminará el indicador LED rojo.
¡Precaución! Aunque el conversor incorpora
protección contra sobrevoltaje, todavía podría
dañarse si el voltaje de entrada excede 16V.
Si está conectado un producto CA clasificado a más de
750W (o que emita una energía de sobretensión excesiva)
el conversor se apagará. Se iluminará la luz del indicador
LED roja.
La unidad se apagará automáticamente si el conversor
excede una temperatura de operación segura debido

a una ventilación insuficiente o a un entorno de alta
temperatura y se iluminará el indicador LED rojo.
El ventilador de enfriamiento está diseñado para operar
solamente cuando la energía de salida es mayor a
aproximadamente 150W. Cuando se enciende el
conversor, el ventilador puede operar momentáneamente
Tiempo de operación de la batería
El tiempo de operación varía dependiendo del nivel de
carga de la batería, su capacidad y el nivel de energía
emitido por la carga CA particular. Con una batería típica
para vehículo y una carga de 750W, se puede esperar un
tiempo de operación de 1 hora o más.
Cuando utilice una batería de vehículo como la fuente
de energía, se recomienda ampliamente encender el
vehículo cada hora para recargar la batería antes de que
su capacidad caiga demasiado bajo. El conversor puede
operar mientras esté operando el motor, pero ocurrirá la
caída de voltaje normal durante el encendido del motor
que puede disparar la característica de paro de voltaje
bajo del conversor.
Debido a que el conversor de energía emite menos
de 0,5A cuando se enciende y si ningún producto CA
conectado, tiene un impacto mínimo en los tiempos de
operación de la batería.
Interferencia con equipo electrónico
Generalmente, la mayoría de los productos CA operan
con el conversor como deberían hacerlo con una energía
CA para aparatos del hogar. A continuación encontrará
información sobre estas dos posibles excepciones.
Zumbado y en sistemas de audio y radios
Algunos sistemas estéreo y radios AM-FM tienen un
suministro de energía interna inadecuado filtrando
y “zumban” ligeramente cuando se energiza con el
conversor. Generalmente, la única solución es un producto
de audio con un filtro de una calidad mayor.
Interferencia de la televisión
El conversor se protege para minimizar su interferencia con
las señales de la televisión. Sin embargo, con las señales
débiles de la televisión, la interferencia puede ser visible en la
forma de líneas desplazándose a través de la pantalla.
A continuación encontrará lo que debería minimizar o
eliminar el problema:
fAumente la distancia entre el conversor y la televisión,
antena y cables.
fAjuste la orientación de la televisión, antena y cables
de conversor.
fMaximice la fuerza de la señal de televisión utilizando
una mejor antena y utilizando un cable de antena
protegido cuando sea posible.
PROTECCIÓN DEL MEDIO AMBIENTE
Separación de desechos. Este producto no debe
desecharse con la basura doméstica normal.
Si llega el momento de reemplazar su producto
BLACK+DECKER o éste ha dejado de tener
utilidad para usted, no lo deseche con la basura
doméstica normal. Asegúrese de que este
producto se deseche por separado.
La separación de desechos de productos usados y
embalajes permite que los materiales puedan
reciclarse y reutilizarse. La reutilización de
materiales reciclados ayuda a evitar la contaminación
medioambiental y reduce la demanda de materias
primas. La normativa local puede ofrecer la
separación de desechos de productos eléctricos de
uso doméstico en centros municipales de recogida
de desechos o a ravés del distribuidor cuando
adquiere un nuevo producto.

de los accesorios que utilice. Los accesorios Piranha y

alta calidad y se han diseñado para mejorar el funcionamiento
de la herramienta. Al utilizar estos accesorios, conseguirá el
máximo rendimiento de la herramienta.

The inverter has the safety features such as over input
voltage shut off, low input voltage shut off, low input
voltage alarm, low voltage turn-off resume, over heating
self-lock, overload self-lock, short circuit protection, built-
in internal backup DC fuse. The LED indicator will directly
display input power and errors. The unit is not designed to
be waterproof.

by battery manfacturer and the manufacturer of
any equipment you intend to use with this unit. Review
cautionary markings on these products and on engine.
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the 750W Power Inverter with
USB Charging Port (PI750LA). This inverter can be
used to operate personal electronics such as: Laptop
computers, digital/video cameras, MP3 players, cell
phones, PDAs, and more. It can also be used to recharge
AC devices that have an appropriate recharging
adapter with a local standard plug. Please read this
Instruction manual carefully before use to ensure optimum
performance and to avoid damage to this product.
FEATURES (Fig. A and B)
1. Positive DC terminal: Connect the red end of the
DC power cord to it.
2. Cooling Fan and Ventilation Openings: The high
speed cooling fan protects the inverter from over-heating.
3. Negative DC terminal: Connect the black end of the
DC power cord to it.
4. Green LED Indicator: When there is DC power
input, the green LED indicator lights.
5. Red LED Indicator: When the inverter has shut down
because of low or high input voltage, the red LED
indicator lights.
6. Button Power Switch: Connect the inverter to the
DC power and press down the button power switch,
the AC power is available.
7. AC Outlets: They allow you to plug in 220V (B2C) and
120V (B3) AC products with a total continuous of
750W or less.
8. USB Port: Offer 5V power to USB equipment.
9. Ventilation Openings: The ventilation openings
should not be covered at any time while the inverter is
operating.
10. DC Cable with Clips: Connect the red clip to the
positive terminal of the battery, and the black to the
negative.
OPERATING TIPS
The inverter should only be operated in locations that are:
a. Dry: Do not allow water or other liquids to come into
contact with the inverter.
b. Cool: Surrounding air temperature should ideally
be 32°F and 104°F (0°C and 40°C). Keep the inverter
away from direct sunlight, when possible.
c. Well-Ventilated: Keep the area surrounding the
inverter clear to ensure free air circulation around
the unit. Do not place items on or over the inverter
during operation. The unit will shut down if the internal
temperature gets too hot. The inverter will auto-reset
after it cools down.
d. Safe: Do not use the inverter near flammable
materials or in any locations that may accumulate
flammable fumes or gases. This is an electrical
appliance that can briefly spark when electrical
connections are made or broken.
Your 750W power inverter supplies 750W of continuous
power with 1500W of surge power. When you turn on an
appliance or a tool that operates using a motor or tubes,
it requires an initial surge of power to start up. This surge
of power is referred to as the “starting load” or “peak
load”. Once started, the tool or appliance requires less
power to continue to operate. This is referred to as the
“continuous load” in terms of power requirements.
You will need to determine how much power your tool or
appliance requires to start up and its continued running
power requirements.
We recommend that the equipment or appliance switch
be in the “OFF” position prior to plugging into the AC
receptacle of the inverter. The green LED light will confirm
that AC power is present.
1. Attach the ring type connector marked with red to the
POSITIVE (+) DC terminal on the power inverter, and
attach the ring connector marked with black to the
NEGATIVE (-) DC terminal.
Caution! Reverse the polarity will arouse blown
fuse or damage to the inverter, which may also be
void of the warranty.
2. Tighten the nut on each DC terminal by hand until it is
snug. Do not over-tighten.
3. Attach the NEGATIVE (black) clip to the NEGATIVE
(-) battery terminal.
4. Attach the POSITIVE (red) clip to the POSITIVE (+)
battery terminal. Make sure both clips are securely
connected to the battery terminals, as a loose
connection will cause the voltage to drop and may
cause the cables to overheat, resulting in equipment
damage or fire.
5. Turn on the inverter.
6. When the power inverter is not in use, disconnect the
DC cable clips from the battery to prevent slight
discharge of battery.
OPERATING THE INVERTER
1. When properly connected to a 12V battery, turning on
the inverter, will illuminate the green LED light,
and deliver AC power to the outlet(s).
2. Plug the AC product(s) you wish to operate into the AC
outlet(s) and switch them on, one at a time.
Caution! If there are one more AC products
connecting to the inverter, turn on the larger power
product first.

Through its AC outlet, the inverter is capable of powering
most 220V (B2C) and 120V (B3) products that use 750W or
less. The unit will operate from input voltages ranging from
11V to 14.5V DC.
As the battery is used, its voltage begins to fall. When
the inverter senses that the voltage at its DC input has
dropped to the range of 10.7V ~ 11.3V DC, an audible
sounds. This allows time for computers or other sensitive
devices to be shut down. If the audible alarm is ignored,
the inverter will automatically shut down when the voltage
dropped to the range of 10.2V ~ 10.8V DC. The red LED
indicator illuminates, indicating a fault. This protects the
battery from being over-discharged. Turn off any devices
that the inverter is powering. When input voltage rose to
11.7V ~ 12.3V DC, inverter restores normal.
Caution! Most vehicle batteries are designed to provide
short period of very high current for starting the engine.
They are not designed for a constant “deep discharge”.
Constantly operating the unit from a vehicle battery until
the low voltage shut off will affect the life of the battery. If
you are operating electrical products for extended periods
of time, you should consider connecting the unit to a
separate deep discharge battery.
Should a defective battery charging system cause the
battery voltage to rise to the range of 15V ~ 16V DC, the
inverter automatically shuts down; and the red LED lights.
Caution! Although the inverter incorporates
protection against over-voltage, it may still be
damaged if the input voltage exceeds 16V.
If an AC product rated higher than 750W (or which draws
excessive surge power) is connected, the inverter will shut
down. The red LED light will light.
The unit will shut down automatically if the inverter
exceeds a safe operating temperature due to insufficient
ventilation or a high-temperature environment; and the red
LED indicator lights.
The cooling fan is designed to operate only when output
power is greater than approximately 150W. When the
inverter is turned on, the fan may operate momentarily.
Battery operating time
Operating time will vary depending on the charge level of
the battery, its capacity and the power level drawn by the
particular AC load. With a typical vehicle battery and a 750W
load, an operating time of 1 hour or more can be expected.
When using a vehicle battery as a power source, it is strongly
recommended to start the vehicle every hour to recharge the
battery before its capacity drops too low. The inverter can
operate while the engine is running, but the normal voltage
drop that occurs during starting of the engine may trigger the
inverter’s low voltage shutdown feature.
Because the power inverter draws less than 0.5A with
it turned on and with no AC product connected, it has
minimal impact on battery operating times.
Interference with Electronic Equipment
Generally, most AC products operate with the inverter
just as they would with household AC power. Below is the
information concerning two possible exceptions.
Buzzing and in audio systems and radios
Some stereo systems and AM-FM radios have inadequate
internal power supply filtering and “buzz” slightly when
powered by the inverter. Generally, the only solution is an
audio product with a higher quality filter.
Television interference
The inverter is shielded to minimize its interference with
TV signals. However, with weak TV signals interference
may be visible in the form of lines scrolling across the
screen.
The following should minimize or eliminate the problem:
fIncrease the distance between the inverter and the
TV, antenna and cables.
fAdjust the orientation of the inverter television,
antenna and cables.
fMaximize TV signal strength by using a better
antenna and use shielded antenna cable where
possible.
PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT
Separate collection. This product must not be
disposed of with normal household waste.
Should you find one day that your
BLACK+DECKER product needs replacement,
or if it is of no further use to you, do not dispose
of it with household waste. Make this product
available for separate collection.
Separate collection of used products and
packaging allows materials to be recycled and
used again. Re-use of recycled materials helps
prevent environmental pollution and reduces the
demand for raw materials. Local regulations may
provide for separate collection of electrical
products from the household, at municipal waste
sites or by the retailer when you purchase a new
product.
