IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Use this appliance only as described in this instruction manual. As with all electrical
equipment, whilst the instructions aim to cover as many eventualities as possible, caution
and common sense should be applied when operating and installing this appliance.
This appliance is designed for home air conditioning and must not be used for other
purposes.
It is dangerous to modify or alter the characteristics of the appliance in any way.
The appliance must be installed in conformity with national legislation regulating electrical
equipment and installations.
If the appliance requires repair, contact a Service Centre authorised by the manufacturer
only. Repairs carried out by unauthorised personnel may be dangerous.
This appliance must be used exclusively by adults.
Never allow the appliance to be used by people (including children) with psychological,
physical or sensory impairments or with insufficient experience and knowledge, unless
closely supervised and instructed by someone responsible for their safety. Young children
should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
The appliance must be connected to an efficient earth system. Have your electrical circuit
checked by a qualified electrician.
Do not use extension cables.
Before cleaning or maintenance, always unplug the appliance from the mains socket.
Never unplug the appliance by pulling on the power cable.
Do not install the appliance in rooms containing gas, oil or sulphur. Do not install near
sources of heat.
Keep the appliance at least 50 cm away from flammable substances (alcohol etc.) or
pressurised containers (e.g. aerosol cans).
Do not rest heavy or hot objects on top of the appliance.
Clean the air filter at least once a week.
Avoid using heating appliances near the air conditioner.
Always transport the appliance upright or resting on one side. Before moving the appliance,
empty the internal circuit completely of water. After moving the appliance, wait at least
1 hour before starting it.
When putting the appliance away, do not cover with plastic bags.

The materials used for packaging can be recycled. You are therefore recommended to
dispose of them in special differentiated waste collection containers.
At the end of its working life, consign the appliance to a specialist collection centre.
If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or an authorised
technical service centre in order to avoid all risk.
Important information for correct disposal of the product in accordance with EC Directive
2002/96/EC.
At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as
urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated
waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a
household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences
for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and
enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant
savings in energy and resources. As a reminder of the need to dispose of
household appliances separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out
wheeled dustbin.
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Before plugging the appliance into the mains socket, check that:
the mains power supply corresponds to the value indicated on the rating plate on the back
of the appliance;
the power socket and electrical circuit are adequate for the appliance;
the mains socket matches the plug. If this is not the case, have the plug replaced;
the mains socket is adequately earthed. Failure to follow these important safety instructions
absolves the manufacturer of all liability.

PREPARING FOR USE
Exhausting hot air
The appliance must be placed close to a window or opening so that the warm exhaust air can
be ducted outside.
First position unit on a flat floor and make sure there’s a minimum of 30 cm clearance around
the unit, and is within the vicinity of a single circuit outlet power source.
1. Extend either side of the hose (Fig.1) and screw the hose to hose outlet (Fig.2).
2. Extend the other side of the hose and screw it to hose inlet (Fig.3).
3. Install the hose inlet into the unit (Fig.4).
4. Affix the hose outlet into the window slider kit and seal. (Fig.5 & 6)

The hose can be extended from its original length,
but it is the best to keep the length to minimum
required. Also make sure that the hose does not
have any sharp bends or sags. (Fig.7).

OPERATING FROM THE CONTROL PANEL
The control panel enables you to manage all the main functions of the appliance, but to fully
exploit its potential, you must use the remote control unit.
TURNING THE APPLIANCE ON
Plug into the mains socket.
Two lines appear on the display indicating that the appliance is in standby.
Press the button until the appliance comes on. The last function active when it was
turned off will appear.
Never turn the air conditioner off by unplugging from the mains. Always press the
button , then wait for a few minutes before unplugging. This allows the appliance to
perform a cycle of checks to verify operation.
COOL MODE
Ideal for hot muggy weather when you need to air conditioning and dehumidify the room.
To set this mode correctly:
Press the " " button a number of times until the " " symbol appears.
Select the target temperature by pressing the " " or " " button until the corresponding
value is displayed.
Select the required fan speed by pressing the " " button.

Three speeds are available:
Low speed: for silent operation
Medium speed: reduces noise levels but still maintains a good level of
comfort
Maximum speed: to achieve the target temperature as rapidly as possible
The most suitable temperature for the room during the summer varies from 24°C to 27°C. You
are recommended, however, not to set a temperature much below the outdoor temperature.
DRY MODE
Ideal to reduce room humidity (spring and autumn, damp rooms, rainy periods, etc.).
In dry mode, the appliance should be prepared in the same way as for cool mode, with the air
exhaust hose attached to enable the moisture to be discharged outside.
To set this mode correctly:
Press the " " button a number of times until the " " symbol appears.
In this mode, fan speed is selected automatically by the appliance and cannot be set
manually.

FAN MODE
When using the appliance in this mode, the air hose does not need to be attached.
To set this mode correctly:
Press the " " button a number of times until the " " symbol appears.
Select the required fan speed by pressing the FAN button.
Three speeds are available:
Maximum speed: for maximum fan power
Medium speed: reduces noise levels but still maintains a good level of
comfort
Low speed: for silent operation

HEAT MODE*
Press the " " button a number of times until the " " symbol appears.
Select the target temperature (13-27°C) by pressing the " " or " " button until the
corresponding value is displayed.
In heating mode, the fan speed is selected automatically by the appliance.
Water is removed from the air and collected in the tank.
When the tank is full, the appliance shuts down and " " (full tank) appears on the display.
The tank cap must be extracted and emptied (Reference "Intermittent drainage section").
Run off all water left into a basin. When all the water has been drained, put the cap back in
place.
When the tank has been emptied, the appliance starts up again.
N.B. When operating in very cold rooms, the appliance defrost automatically,
momentarily interrupting normal operation. " " appears on the display. During
this operation, it is normal for the noise made by the appliance to change.
In this mode, you may have to wait for a few minutes before the appliance starts
giving out hot air.
In this mode, the fan may operate for short periods, even though the set
temperature has already been reached.
"*" means only the heat pump model have this function.

Swing function
This function is useful for select the left/right of air delivery.
To set this function:
Select the operating mode (Cool/Dry/Fan/Heat) as described above.
Press the " " button, the appliance operates in the previously selected mode, the symbol
" " appears.
Press the " " button again, the symbol disappears to indicate the swing is stop.

For the remote control to operate correctly the remote handset has to be in line of sight of
receiver (attached to the front of unit below the air vents). There will be no change in the
function of the unit if the remote transmitter handset is not in line of sight of the unit or if
there are any obstacles between the remote control and receiver.
Each time when there is a change in the function of the unit it will beep which indicates that
the receiver attached to the unit has sensed the button press of the remote.

If the remote transmitter is not in line of sight of the receiver and button is pressed the
display on the remote LCD will change according to the button pressed but there will be no
change in the function of the unit.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT
1. Slide the battery cover out.
2. Insert two AAA size 1.5V batteries into the battery compartment making sure the polarities
are correct, alkaline batteries recommended.
3. Refit the battery cover.
4. When the batteries go low the remote display will come up with the battery low indicator,
replace both the batteries with fresh alkaline batteries.
DIP SWITCH POSITION
Before you refit the battery housing cover ensure the DIP switch is set to correct position as
described below.
NORMAL POSITION
Temperature will display on remote in Celsius.
FAHRENHEIT POSITION
The temperature display on the remote will be in Fahrenheit.
NOTE: Do not use other switch positions. Those will display heating modes which are not
available to this air conditioner.
NOTE: To change the settings the switch position must be adjusted first and then the batteries
must inserted. By DEFAULT the temperature on the unit will be displayed in degree Celsius.
REMOTE CONTROL OPERATION
ON/OFF BUTTON
1. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the unit ON or OFF.
2. Each time the unit is turned ON it will start operation in last selected mode.

CLOCK BUTTON
1. To set the correct time of the day, press the CLOCK button.
2. The clock display will flash; set the clock using the UP/DOWN button.
3. Each time the UP or DOWN button is pressed the minute display will
increment/decrement by 1. After the correct time is set press the CLOCK button to store
the set time.
SLEEP FUNCTION
Under this function the unit maintains the room temperature and humidity at optimum level
with silent operation. The unit will run in a preset programmed algorithm which will vary the
set temperature after every preset time interval. The unit will be turned off after 8 hours and
will be in STANDBY mode.
Fan speed cannot be adjusted and is always set to low under this function.
TO SET
1. Select the desired mode of operation – Cool/Dry or SMART.
2. Press the SLEEP button, sleep icon will appear on the display and the remote which will
indicate the unit is set in SLEEP function.
