Gas Hose Restraint
If the appl ance s mounted on casters, a commerĆ
c al flex ble connector w th a m n mum of 3/4" (1.9
cm) ns de d ameter must be used along w th a
qu ck connect dev ce.
A restra nt must be used to l m t the movement of
the appl ance so that no stra n s placed upon the
flex ble connector. The restra nt should be fasĆ
tened to the base frame of the oven as close to the
flex ble connector as poss ble. It should be short
enough to prevent any stra n on the connector.
W th the restra nt fully stretched the connector
should be easy to nstall and qu ck connect.
The restra nt ( e: heavy gauge cable) should be atĆ
tached w thout damag ng the bu ld ng. DO NOT
use the gas p p ng or electr cal condu t for the atĆ
tachment of the permanent end of the restra nt!
Use anchor bolts n concrete or cement block. On
wooden walls, dr ve h test wood lag screws nto
the studs of the wall.
WAR I G!!
If the restraint is disconnected for any reaĆ
son it must be reconnected when the apĆ
pliance is returned to its original position.
U.S. and Canadian installations
The connector must comply w th the Standard for
Connectors for Movable Gas Appliances, ANSI
Z21.69 or Connectors For Moveable Gas ApĆ
pliances CAN/CGAĆ6.16 and a qu ck d sconnect
dev ce that compl es w th the Standard for QuickĆ
Disconnect Devices for Use With Gas Fuel, ANSI
Z21.41 or Quick Disconnect For Use With Gas Fuel
CAN 1Ć6.9. Adequate means must be prov ded to
l m t the movement of the appl ance w thout deĆ
pend ng on the connect on and the qu ck d sconĆ
nect dev ce or ts assoc ated p p ng.
A dr p leg must be used at each appl ance. Refer
to NFPA54/ANSI Z223.1 Ć Latest dition (Nat onal
Fuel Gas Code) for proper dr p leg nstallat on.
