Do NOT place the Ab-Tek Belt:
• Oversoreorbrokenskin,scars,moles,infectedareasorpartsofthebodywherenormalsensation
is limited. In very rare cases, skin irritation occurs around the electrode area. If this happens
discontinue use.

Thank you for purchasing the Ab-Tek Belt, your personal Abdominal Muscle Toner. Your unit has
been specially designed to help you tone your abdominal muscles safely and easily in the privacy and
comfortofyourownhome.
The Ab-Tek Belt is extremely easy to use with automatic features, simple operation keys and an
informative display to give you all the details on your exercise routine. The 6 programs take you
through various levels of exercise and are optimized to give you a tighter, firmer stomach and tone
your abs easily and effectively.
How does the Ab-Tek Belt work?
TheAb-TekBeltworksontheprincipleofEMS(ElectricalMuscleStimulation).Itgeneratessafe,gentle
electrical pulses that are delivered onto your skin through the special electrodes placed on the inside
of the belt. These electrical pulses activate the nerves which control the muscles. The pulses then
contractandrelaxthemuscleinawaysimilartoanexerciseroutine.Thepulsesgeneratedhavebeen
designedtoimitatenaturalmuscularcontractions,whichareeffectiveandcomfortable.Theprograms
sendoutthepulsesatregularintervals,whichcontractandrelaxtheabdominalmuscles,similarto
doing regular sit-ups.
How does it feel?
Tobeginwiththepulsesgiveamildtinglingsensationandastheintensityisincreasedyouwillstart
to notice muscle contractions. Contraction and relaxing periods vary depending on the program used.
Themusclecontractionsaresmoothandeachcontractionwillstartwithaslowrise,holditselfina
contractedpositionforafewsecondsandthengentlyrelax.

Auto Functions
•The unitwill turnoff iftheelectrode isremoved formore than60seconds duringuse andis not
placedbackintocontactwiththeskin.
•Theunithasanauto-timer.Itwillshutoffafterapproximately12minutesofexercise.
•Ifyouchangetheexercisemodewithinthe12minutes,thetimerwillcount-downfromtheoriginal
leftover time.

Detaching unit from Belt cradle
Onceyou have unpacked theAb-TekBelt, you will find
the main unit sitting inside the cradle on the belt. To
detach the main unit, push the top half of the unit firmly
away from the cradle, once the unit has snapped out
from the magnetic contacts on the cradle, just slide it out.
Inserting the Batteries
Slide down the battery cover on the main unit to
reveal the battery compartment. Insert 2 x 1.5V AAA
Alkaline batteries in the compartment. The batteries
shouldbeplacedwiththecorrectpolarityasshownin
the compartment. Placing the batteries in the wrong
direction can cause damage to the unit.
Getting Started
Wearing the Belt
TheAb-Tekbeltis designed to fit a wide range of waist sizes from 24” to 47”. The special material
ensuresthebeltsitscomfortablyanddiscreetlyaroundyourwaist.
1.Makesuretheunitisswitchedoff.Ifyouhaveswitchedontheunitaccidentally,thenswitchitoff
bypressingtheOFF/LObutton.
2.Laythebeltflatwiththeblackelectrodesontheinsideofthebeltfacingyou.Moistentheblack
electrodesandyourskinoverthestomachareawithConductiveGel.Makesurethatagenerous
amountofgelisspreadevenlyoverthewholeareaofeachofthefourelectrodes.Thiswillprevent
any skin redness developing during use.
3.Now strap the belt around your waist with the electrodes pressed directly over your abdominal
muscles.Thebeltshouldbestrappedtightlysothattheelectrodesmakegoodcontactwithyour
skin.
4.Oncethebeltison,simplyplacetheunitintothecradleuntilitslidesoverthemagneticcontacts.
The unit is correctly attached once you hear it click into place. Refer to Operating Guide for
operating instructions.

Operating Guide
Operation
1.SwitchtheunitonbypressingtheON/HIbuttononce.TheLCDdisplaywillshowthelevel.
2.SelectmodeA-FbypressingtheMODEbuttonrepeatedly.
3.PushtheON/HIbuttonseveraltimestocarefullyincreasetheintensity.
4.Youwillnoticeatinglingsensationpriortothemusclecontracting.Oncethemuscleiscontracting
itwillbepleasantandrelaxing.Adjusttheintensityaccordingtoyourcomfortlevel.Youshouldfeel
a strong but comfortable contraction of the muscles.
5.Theintensityhas10steps.WitheverypushofthebuttonON/HIyouincreasetheintensitybyone
step,witheverypushofthebuttonOFF/LOyoudecreasetheintensitybyonestep.
6.Toswitchtheunitoff,presstheOFF/LObuttonuntilthedisplaygoesblank.
Important Tips
• AlwaysmakesurethattheconductiveelectrodesarewellcoveredwithConductiveGelbeforeuse.
• Ifyourskinturnsredorthereisirritation,stopusingthebeltforalittlewhileuntiltheirritationgoes
away.Sometimesthisiscausedbymoistelectrodesdryingup.
• Occasionallythebodydevelopsexcessiveoilsontheskinandthiscouldinhibitpulseconduction.
Cleaningtheskinareawithawarmdampclothbeforeusingthebeltisagoodsolution.
• Whenyouputthebelton,makesurethattheelectrodesareingoodcontactwithyourskinandthe
belt is firmly placed around your stomach.
• Alwayshavearestingperiodofatleast5hoursbetweenwork-outs.
Exercise Guidance
Wesuggestthatyoustartwithamildworkoutandchangetomoreintenseprogramslater.Within
thefirstweekyoushouldgiveyourmusclestimetoadjusttothenewwork-out.Usetheunitonceor
twice(withaminimumof4hoursrestingin-between)adayforamaximumof12minutespermuscle
group. After that, you can use the belt for a maximum of 30 minutes per muscle group, 3 times a day.
Programswithlargerpulses/secondfiguresgivemoreintensemuscleworkouts.
Adjust the exercise routine to suit your personal fitness level and you should feel comfortable.
Push OFF/LO button 10 x to decrease intensity 10 steps
