Do NOT place the Ab-Tek Belt:
• Oversoreorbrokenskin,scars,moles,infectedareasorpartsofthebodywherenormalsensation
is limited. In very rare cases, skin irritation occurs around the electrode area. If this happens
discontinue use.

Thank you for purchasing the Ab-Tek Belt, your personal Abdominal Muscle Toner. Your unit has
been specially designed to help you tone your abdominal muscles safely and easily in the privacy and
comfortofyourownhome.
The Ab-Tek Belt is extremely easy to use with automatic features, simple operation keys and an
informative display to give you all the details on your exercise routine. The 6 programs take you
through various levels of exercise and are optimized to give you a tighter, firmer stomach and tone
your abs easily and effectively.
How does the Ab-Tek Belt work?
TheAb-TekBeltworksontheprincipleofEMS(ElectricalMuscleStimulation).Itgeneratessafe,gentle
electrical pulses that are delivered onto your skin through the special electrodes placed on the inside
of the belt. These electrical pulses activate the nerves which control the muscles. The pulses then
contractandrelaxthemuscleinawaysimilartoanexerciseroutine.Thepulsesgeneratedhavebeen
designedtoimitatenaturalmuscularcontractions,whichareeffectiveandcomfortable.Theprograms
sendoutthepulsesatregularintervals,whichcontractandrelaxtheabdominalmuscles,similarto
doing regular sit-ups.
How does it feel?
Tobeginwiththepulsesgiveamildtinglingsensationandastheintensityisincreasedyouwillstart
to notice muscle contractions. Contraction and relaxing periods vary depending on the program used.
Themusclecontractionsaresmoothandeachcontractionwillstartwithaslowrise,holditselfina
contractedpositionforafewsecondsandthengentlyrelax.

Auto Functions
•The unitwill turnoff iftheelectrode isremoved formore than60seconds duringuse andis not
placedbackintocontactwiththeskin.
•Theunithasanauto-timer.Itwillshutoffafterapproximately12minutesofexercise.
•Ifyouchangetheexercisemodewithinthe12minutes,thetimerwillcount-downfromtheoriginal
leftover time.

Detaching unit from Belt cradle
 Onceyou have unpacked theAb-TekBelt, you will find
the main unit sitting inside the cradle on the belt. To
detach the main unit, push the top half of the unit firmly
away from the cradle, once the unit has snapped out
from the magnetic contacts on the cradle, just slide it out.
Inserting the Batteries
 Slide down the battery cover on the main unit to
reveal the battery compartment. Insert 2 x 1.5V AAA
Alkaline batteries in the compartment. The batteries
shouldbeplacedwiththecorrectpolarityasshownin
the compartment. Placing the batteries in the wrong
direction can cause damage to the unit.
Getting Started
Wearing the Belt
TheAb-Tekbeltis designed to fit a wide range of waist sizes from 24” to 47”. The special material
ensuresthebeltsitscomfortablyanddiscreetlyaroundyourwaist.
1.Makesuretheunitisswitchedoff.Ifyouhaveswitchedontheunitaccidentally,thenswitchitoff
bypressingtheOFF/LObutton.
2.Laythebeltflatwiththeblackelectrodesontheinsideofthebeltfacingyou.Moistentheblack
electrodesandyourskinoverthestomachareawithConductiveGel.Makesurethatagenerous
amountofgelisspreadevenlyoverthewholeareaofeachofthefourelectrodes.Thiswillprevent
any skin redness developing during use.
3.Now strap the belt around your waist with the electrodes pressed directly over your abdominal
muscles.Thebeltshouldbestrappedtightlysothattheelectrodesmakegoodcontactwithyour
skin.
4.Oncethebeltison,simplyplacetheunitintothecradleuntilitslidesoverthemagneticcontacts.
The unit is correctly attached once you hear it click into place. Refer to Operating Guide for
operating instructions.

Operating Guide
Operation
1.SwitchtheunitonbypressingtheON/HIbuttononce.TheLCDdisplaywillshowthelevel.
2.SelectmodeA-FbypressingtheMODEbuttonrepeatedly.
3.PushtheON/HIbuttonseveraltimestocarefullyincreasetheintensity.
4.Youwillnoticeatinglingsensationpriortothemusclecontracting.Oncethemuscleiscontracting
itwillbepleasantandrelaxing.Adjusttheintensityaccordingtoyourcomfortlevel.Youshouldfeel
a strong but comfortable contraction of the muscles.
5.Theintensityhas10steps.WitheverypushofthebuttonON/HIyouincreasetheintensitybyone
step,witheverypushofthebuttonOFF/LOyoudecreasetheintensitybyonestep.
6.Toswitchtheunitoff,presstheOFF/LObuttonuntilthedisplaygoesblank.
Important Tips
• AlwaysmakesurethattheconductiveelectrodesarewellcoveredwithConductiveGelbeforeuse.
• Ifyourskinturnsredorthereisirritation,stopusingthebeltforalittlewhileuntiltheirritationgoes
away.Sometimesthisiscausedbymoistelectrodesdryingup.
• Occasionallythebodydevelopsexcessiveoilsontheskinandthiscouldinhibitpulseconduction.
Cleaningtheskinareawithawarmdampclothbeforeusingthebeltisagoodsolution.
• Whenyouputthebelton,makesurethattheelectrodesareingoodcontactwithyourskinandthe
belt is firmly placed around your stomach.
• Alwayshavearestingperiodofatleast5hoursbetweenwork-outs.
Exercise Guidance
Wesuggestthatyoustartwithamildworkoutandchangetomoreintenseprogramslater.Within
thefirstweekyoushouldgiveyourmusclestimetoadjusttothenewwork-out.Usetheunitonceor
twice(withaminimumof4hoursrestingin-between)adayforamaximumof12minutespermuscle
group. After that, you can use the belt for a maximum of 30 minutes per muscle group, 3 times a day.
Programswithlargerpulses/secondfiguresgivemoreintensemuscleworkouts.
Adjust the exercise routine to suit your personal fitness level and you should feel comfortable.
