wall glass technology that accounts for the stunning news. The double wall glass coffe maker BISTRO keeps
the excellently brewed coffee hot and aromatic for nearly two hours. A highly sophisticated production pro-
cess leads to this stunning thermo effect: The inner beaker is machine-blown whereas the outer beaker is
mouth-blown perfecting the balance between insulation and product stability.
The patented safety lid prevents the squirting of liquids. The handle stays cool and is, like the body
of the jug, made of high-tech, ultra-light heat-resistant borosilicate glass. Available as an 8 cup (1l/34oz)
and a 12 cup (1.5l/51oz) coffee maker. All parts are dishwasher safe.

USAGE - INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW TO MAKE IT HAPPEN
How can I use it?
For best results, pre-heat the glass beaker with hot water to maximize the heat retention. Start with freshly
roasted coffee and grind only as much coffee at one time as you need to brew for each pot.
1. Fill in ground coffee at your liking
TIP: Always use coarse ground coffee when brewing with a Bodum coffee press.
TIP: Add one level Bodum scoop (7 grams, 0.25 oz) of coarse ground coffee per 1.2dl/4oz cup of water to
the beaker.
TIP: Adjust the amount of coffee to taste.
TIP:: To reach the perfect temperature, bring the water to a full boil and then allow it to rest for 30 seconds
before pouring.
2. Add hot water (195 - 205F/90C° - 96C°)

3. Use a wooden or plastic utensil and carefully give the coffee a stir to make sure that all of the grounds
are submerged. Freshly roasted coffee will “bloom” and rise up as it starts to brew and release gases.
4. Place the press/lid onto the pot in the up position. Line the safety lid up so that it is in the closed positi-
on in line with the pour spout.
5. Allow the coffee to brew for 4-minutes
6. Press gently
TIP: If it is hard to press, simply raise the plunger rod up about one inch and then resume pressing.
7. Turn the safety lid to the pour position, serve & enjoy a gourmet cup of coffee.
TIP: After serving, turn the safety lid back to the closed position to help retain heat.
TIP: There are no filters needed. The 3-piece filter assemble is part of the press and unlike a paper filter,
allows the coffee to maintain its natural oils and acids which give the coffee balance and flavor. The filter
assemble unscrews for easy cleaning when necessary. Before brewing, ensure that the filter is completely
screwed into place and secure.

How do I clean/treat the product right?
After enjoying your coffee, simply remove the lid/press assembly and using a rubber spatula, scoop out the
used grounds and dispose. Rinse the press out and wash with soap and water or place the entire unit in the
dishwasher.

SAFETY ISSUES & CAUTIONARY INFORMATION
• Do not use metal spoons or utensils to stir the coffee. Metal spoons and utensils should not be used with
double wall glass. Metal spoons can scratch or chip the glass beaker and cause breakage.
• Warning: boiling water and children should be kept apart.
• As with all hot objects, the coffee press & hot coffee should be kept away from children. Press your coffee
in a safe area away from children. Hot water is a hazard to children.
• Do not allow children to use this coffeemaker.
• Place the coffee press on a heat proof, non-slip surface when using.
• Do not use force when pressing coffee. Press gently. Excessive force can cause scalding liquid to shoot
out of the pot. Turn lid to close spout during the brewing and pressing process.
• Not for stovetop or microwave use.
• Check the glass beaker for scratches, cracks or chips. Do not use a pot which is scratched, cracked or
chipped. Install a replacement beaker before using the pot again.
• Use only coarse ground coffee. Fine grind can clog the filter and create high pressure
• Use the coffee and water markings on the body of the coffee press, do not overfill the coffee press.

How is the product manufactured?
The glass beaker, made of borosilicate glass, is made of two parts. The inner beaker is our standard
borosilicate machine made beaker. The outer layer is mouth-blown using a mold. The two layers are joined
together on the top by hand.
More information on the materials
Lightweight yet durable, borosilicate glass is temperature safe and won’t cloud even after years of was-
hing in the dishwasher. Borosilicate glass is a strong heat-resistant glass that weighs less than traditional
glassware. Used to make scientific lab glass, borosilicate glass (medical grade glass) is stronger than
traditional “soda-lime” glass and can be used for everything from drinkware to cookware. Borosilicate glass
substitutes boron oxide in place of the soda and lime used in traditional glassware. The boron oxide acts as
a glue holding the silicate together and due to the small size of boron particles, the glass is held together
tighter, resulting in a stronger glass. Some customers may perceive the glass to be “thin” as they hold it. It
is important to explain the difference between borosilicate and soda lime glass. Borosilicate glass doesn’t
need to be as thick as traditional glass to be just as strong. Borosilicate is simply a different type of glass
can withstand high temperatures. Because the particles are held together so tightly, borosilicate glass is
dishwasher safe and will not become cloudy over time.
How durable is the product?
To ensure product stability, the double wall glass coffee maker SHIN BISTRO undergoes a distinctive
production step: A pin hole on the bottom of the double wall glass beaker adjusts the airpressure in- and
outside of the glass, reducing glass tensions leading to higher product stability - it is resealed with silicone.
