BOMBARDIER CC670-51142-1 User manual

TESTING AND FAULT ISOLATION
1. General
A. Testing of the PASS SIGNS/EMER LTS control panel is done after the assembly is completed and a
visual check has been done of the panel.
B. A continuity check is done to make sure that the wiring, connector, and toggle switches operate
correctly.
C. Obey all the local safety regulations for handling electronic components that contain electrostatic−
sensitive devices (ESDS), as applicable. Many components have microprocessors and memory
devices that can be damaged by electrostatic discharges. Do not touch ESDS components until you
have a wrist strap installed and make sure you are correctly grounded before you do the testing and
fault isolation.
2. Equipment
A. (Commercially available) Multimeter.
3. Testing
Refer to Figure 101.
A. Visual check
(1) Do a visual check of the PASS SIGNS/EMER LTS control panel (refer to CHECK
Pageblock 33−24−07_5001).
B. Integral lighting of the plastic panel − Continuity check
(1) Do a continuity check between the contacts H and J of the electrical connector PL14J1.
(a) If the multimeter shows an open circuit, do a continuity check between PL14J3, contact +
and contact −.
1 If there is an open circuit, replace the integral lighting of the plastic panel.
2If there is continuity, do a continuity check of the wiring to isolate the defective wiring.
Repair/replace the defective wiring.
3 Connect the disconnected wiring.
C. NO SMKG ON OFF AUTO toggle switch S129 − Continuity Check (for part number CC670−51142−
