Your Phone at a Glance
The following illustration outlines your phone’s primary external features and buttons.
Set Up Your Phone
You must first install and charge the battery to begin setting up your phone.
1. Install the battery.
Insert a coin or other flat object into the slot at the bottom of the battery compartment
cover and lift the cover up gently.

Insert the battery, contacts end first, and gently press the battery into place.
Replace the battery compartment cover, making sure all the tabs are secure and
there are no gaps around the cover.
Note: When you insert the battery, your phone may power on automatically.
2. Charge your battery.
Plug the USB connector into the charger/accessory jack on the lower left side of your
phone.

Plug the AC adapter into an electrical outlet.
Note: Your phone’s battery should have enough charge for the phone to turn on and find a
signal, set up voicemail, and make a call. You should fully charge the battery as soon as
possible.
3. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the phone on.
Set Up Voicemail
You should set up your Voicemail and personal greeting as soon as your phone is activated.
Always use a password to protect against unauthorized access. Your phone automatically
transfers all unanswered calls to your voicemail, even if your phone is in use or turned off.
1. Touch > . (If your screen is locked, press the Power Button to turn on the
display and then touch and hold to unlock the screen.)
2. Touch , if the screen is not already on the dial screen.
3. Touch and hold to dial your voicemail number.
4. Follow the system prompts to:
Create your password.
Record your name announcement.
Record your greeting.
Note: Voicemail Password –Boost Mobile strongly recommend that you create a password
when setting up your voicemail to protect against unauthorized access. Without a
password, anyone who has access to your phone is able to access your voicemail
messages.
Support Services
411 and Operator Services let you easily access information and calling assistance from your
Boost Mobile phone.
411
411 gives you access to a variety of services and information, including residential, business,
and government listings; movie listings or showtimes; driving directions, restaurant reservations,
and major local event information. You can get up to three pieces of information per call, and
the operator can automatically connect your call at no additional charge.
There is a per-call charge to use 411, and you will be billed for airtime.

Key Functions
●Power Button lets you turn the phone on or off or turn the screen on or off, restart the
phone, or switch your phone to silent mode, vibration mode, or airplane mode.

●Earpiece lets you hear the caller and automated prompts.
●Volume Buttons allow you to adjust the ringer or media volume or adjust the voice
volume during a call.
●Camera Button lets you activate the camera and take pictures or videos.
●Touchscreen lets you view and control all the features of your phone.
●Front Camera Lens and Back Camera Lens let you take pictures and videos.
●3.5 mm Headset Jack allows you to plug in either a stereo headset or an optional
headset for convenient, hands-free conversations.
CAUTION! Inserting an accessory into the incorrect jack may damage the phone.
●Flash helps illuminate subjects in low-light environments when the camera is focusing
and capturing a photo or video.
●Speaker lets you hear the different ringers and sounds. The speaker also lets you hear
the caller’s voice in speakerphone mode.
●Charger/micro-USB Jack allows you to connect the phone charger or the USB cable
(included).
CAUTION! Inserting an accessory into the incorrect jack may damage the phone.
Turn Your Phone On and Off
The instructions below explain how to turn your phone on and off.
Turn Your Phone On
►Press and hold the Power Button.
Turn Your Phone Off
►Press and hold the Power Button to open the phone options menu. Touch Power off
and then touch OK to turn the phone off.
Your screen remains blank while your phone is off (unless the battery is charging).
Turn Your Screen On and Off
Your phone allows you to quickly turn the screen off when not in use and to turn it back on and
unlock it when you need it.

Turn the Screen Off When Not in Use
►To quickly turn the screen off, press the Power Button. Pressing the Power Button
again or receiving an incoming call will turn on your phone screen and show the lock
screen or incoming call screen.
To save battery power, the phone automatically turns off the screen after a certain period of
time when you leave it idle. You will still be able to receive messages and calls while the
phone’s screen is off.
Note: For information on how to adjust the time before the screen turns off, see “Sleep”in
Display Settings.
Turn the Screen On and Unlock It
1. To turn the screen on, press the Power Button.
2. Touch and hold to unlock the screen.
If you have set up a screen lock, you will be prompted to look at the phone, draw the
pattern, or enter the password or PIN. See “Screen Lock”in Security.
Touchscreen Navigation
Your phone’s touchscreen lets you control actions through a variety of touch gestures.
Touch
When you want to type using the onscreen keyboard, select items onscreen such as application
and settings icons, or press onscreen buttons, simply touch them with your finger.
Touch and Hold
To open the available options for an item (for example, a link in a web page), touch and hold the
item.
Swipe or Slide
To swipe or slide means to quickly drag your finger vertically or horizontally across the screen.
Drag
To drag, press and hold your finger with some pressure before you start to move your finger.
While dragging, do not release your finger until you have reached the target position.

Flick
Flicking the screen is similar to swiping, except that you need to swipe your finger in light, quick
strokes. This finger gesture is always in a vertical direction, such as when flicking the contacts
or message list.
Rotate
For most screens, you can automatically change the screen orientation from portrait to
landscape by turning the phone sideways. When entering text, you can turn the phone sideways
to bring up a bigger keyboard. See Touchscreen Keyboards for more details.
Note: The Auto-rotate screen check box in > > Settings > Accessibility needs
to be selected for the screen orientation to automatically change.
Pinch and Spread
“Pinch” the screen using your thumb and forefinger to zoom out or “spread” the screen to zoom
in when viewing a picture or a web page. (Move fingers inward to zoom out and outward to
zoom in.)
Your Home Screen
The home screen is the starting point for your phone’s applications, functions, and menus. You
can customize your home screen by adding application icons, shortcuts, folders, widgets, and
more. Your home screen extends beyond the initial screen. Swipe the screen left or right to
display additional screens.

Add Items to the Home Screen
1. Touch > .
2. Touch the APPS tab or the WIDGETS tab on top.
3. Touch and hold an application icon or a widget. Then drag it to the position you want in
the home screen and release it.
Tip: You can drag the item to the right or left edge of the screen, to add the item to an
extended home screen.
Move or Remove Items on the Home Screen
►Touch and hold the item you want to move or remove from the home screen.
To move the item, drag it to a new area and release it.
To remove the item, drag it to and release it.
Note: Removing an item from the home screen will not remove it from your apps list.

Organize Icons With Folders
1. Touch if the screen is not already the home screen. Swipe the screen left or right
if necessary.
2. Touch and hold an application icon. Then drag it over another one and release it. Both
icons are now moved into the folder.
3. Touch and hold other icons and drag them to the folder and release them.
Note: To remove an icon from a folder, touch the folder to open it, and then touch and hold the
icon and release it after dragging it to the home screen.
Rename a Folder
1. Touch to display the home screen. Swipe the screen left or right if necessary.
2. Touch the folder to open it.
3. Touch the folder name area below the icons, and enter a new name.
4. Touch any blank area outside the folder to save the new name and close the folder.
Adjust Widget Size
1. Touch to display the home screen. Swipe the screen left or right if necessary.
2. Touch and hold the widget and then release it. An outline appears around the widget.
3. Drag the outline to resize the widget.
Note: Not all widgets can be resized.
Apply a New Wallpaper
1. Touch and then touch and hold a blank area of the home screen.
–or –
Touch > > Settings > Display > Wallpaper.
2. Select a wallpaper source from Default wallpaper, Gallery, ID Wallpapers, Live
Wallpapers, or Wallpapers.
3. Select the image or animation you want to use as the wallpaper. Some cropping may be
needed for Gallery images.
