Cutter Clearance b
The position of the upper cutter must be at the
highest dead centre. To carry this out, turn the
screw in bore 11 using a screwdriver until the
height of the upper cutter is at its maximum.
Using a pin 15 screw in the ad-
justment screw 4. Loosen
screw 6. Set the upper cutter 5
such that the vertical dis-
tance bbetween the upper
and lower cutter is 0.8 mm.
Tighten screw 6. Then turn the
adjustment screw 4 against
the cutter using pin 15.
For softer or more ductile materials, the clear-
ance bmust be decreased; for harder or more
brittle materials, increased.
Sharpening the Cutters
With the setting gauge 14 the knife distances a
and bcan be checked, and with the template 13
the cutting angle of the knives.
When sharpening the cutters, take care that cut-
ting angles (grinding angles) are maintained.
Sheet metal can be cut more efficiently if the up-
per cutter is curved.

■Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
■For safe and proper working, always keep
the machine and the ventilation slots clean.
Lubricate the machine using transmission lu-
bricant (250 g, 5 700 052 025) at the lubrica-
tion point 12 after every 8 hours of operation.
Excess grease can escape from the eccen-
tric axle and the stroke mechanism. Lubrica-
tion should be carried out only when the ma-
chine is not under load.
After approx. 100 operating hours the entire
transmission lubricant should be changed.
If the machine should fail despite the rigorous
manufacturing and testing procedures, repair
should be carried out by an authorised after-sales
service centre for Bosch power tools.
In all correspondence and spare parts orders,
please always include the 10-digit order number
given on the nameplate of the machine.
WARNING! Important instructions for con-
necting a new 3-pin plug to the 2 wire cable.
The wires in the cable are coloured according to
the following code:
Do not connect the blue or brown wire to the
earth terminal of the plug.
Important: If for any reason the moulded plug is
removedfrom the cable of this machine it must be
disposed of safely.

with statutory/country-specific regulations (proof
of purchase by invoice or delivery note).
Damage attributable to normal wear and tear,
overload or improper handling will be excluded
from the guarantee.
In case of complaint please send the machine,
undismantled, to your dealer or the Bosch Serv-
ice Centre for electric power tools.
