To use the AirPlay feature, Zeppelin Air must be
connected to your existing home network (from now
on referred to as ‘your home network’).
The following procedure will give you a step-by-step
guide to set up the AirPlay feature. This is
accomplished by accessing the Zeppelin Air setup
page using either a MAC or PC. Once accessed you
can then name your Zeppelin Air device and allocate
the home network to be used to provide the
connection.
Before you start please ensure:
You have iTunes® 10.2 or later installed on your
MAC / PC.
You have saved data and closed other programs.
You know the name (also known as SSID) of your
existing home wireless network and any
passwords (also referred to as “network key”,
“access code” or “phrase key”) required to
access it.
The network name and password must contain
only alphanumeric characters and cannot contain
any special characters (such as
!@£$%^&*()_+':";<>~).
Your wireless network must be operating in
Wireless G only, or Wireless G & N mixed mode.
The recommended wireless security method is
WPA/WPA2 Personal. WPA/WPA2 Enterprise is
not supported.
Your Wi-Fi access point (your hub or router) is
functioning.
Depending on your operating system and browser
the icons and windows may vary from the images
shown in this guide.
If anything goes wrong during this process please
follow the reset instructions at the end of this guide
and try again.

1. Ensure your iPod or iPhone is not docked
when starting this process. Unplug every
cable from Zeppelin Air, including the power
cable.
2. Connect only your power cable. Zeppelin Air
will switch on in Standby mode with its
indicator showing dim red.
3. Press the power button once. The indicator
will blink purple. Wait until the indicator blinks
yellow (could be up to 60 seconds). This
indicates that the Zeppelin Air is in temporary
wireless network mode and can be identified
by your wireless connections.
4. Access your iPod Touch’s, iPhone’s or iPad’s
Wi-Fi connections within the “Settings” menu.

5. Select the Zeppelin Air Setup XXX network.
This will disconnect the iPod Touch, iPhone
or iPad from the existing network and then
connect to the Zeppelin Air.
6. Wait approximately 20 seconds, or until you
see the wireless signal strength meter in the
top left corner of the iPod Touch, iPhone or
iPad indicates that it is connected.


7. Open the Safari browser on your iPod Touch,
iPhone or iPad.
In the address bar of Safari type 169.254.1.1
and press “Go”. The Zeppelin Air setup page
will open. You may need to zoom on the
page to see clearly.
8. Once the setup page appears, enter an
appropriate name for the Zeppelin Air and
press “Apply Now”.
9. Press “OK” to confirm the new set setting
and return to the setup page.
10. Press “Select option” and choose your home
network from the list.

11. Carefully type your password and press
“Join”. When the warning message appears,
press “OK”. The light on the Zeppelin Air
should change to solid purple. This may take
up to 30 seconds.
Please be sure that both the network name
and password do not contain any special
characters (such as !@£$%^&*()_+':";<>~),
as this may cause setup to fail.
12. Close the Safari browser on the iPod Touch,
iPhone or iPad. The page will not update any
further once “Join” has been pressed.
13. Return to the Wi-Fi connection within the
setup menu and reselect your home network.
Wait approximately 20 seconds, or until you
see the wireless signal strength meter in the
top left corner of the iPod Touch, iPhone or
iPad indicates that it is connected to your
home network.
14. Enter your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad music
library and select a song. You should notice
that there is an additional icon (device icon)
next to the next song button.
15.
Reduce the volume on the iPod Touch,
iPhone or iPad. Press the device icon, select
your Zeppelin Air and slowly increase the
volume. You should now be streaming music
from your iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad to your
Zeppelin Air.

16. When you open iTunes on your Mac/PC, you
should see the same icon on the bottom right
corner. Select the Zeppelin Air speaker to
stream your computer’s iTunes library to the
Zeppelin Air.
If anything goes wrong at any stage during this
process, you can start again by resetting the
Zeppelin Air. To do this, use a paper clip or similar
small point and press the reset button located on the
back of the device between the USB and Ethernet
ports. Hold the button down until the front indicator
changes to a dim red color. The Zeppelin Air needs
to be powered on for at least one minute before it will
reset.
