Vorsicht
Lesen Sie bitte die Gebrauchsanweisung sorgfältig
und vollständig, bevor Sie das Gerät in Betrieb
nehmen.
• Dieses Gerät ist für die Verarbeitung haushalts-
üblicher Mengen konstruiert.
• Kinder oder Personen mit eingeschränkten physischen,
sensorischen oder geistigen Fähigkeiten dürfen
dieses Gerät nicht benutzen, es sei denn, sie
werden durch eine für ihre Sicherheit zuständige
Person beaufsichtigt. Grundsätzlich raten wir aber,
das Gerät von Kindern fern zu halten.
• Vor Inbetriebnahme prüfen, ob die Netzspannung
mit der Spannungsangabe auf der Unterseite des
Gerätes übereinstimmt.
• Vor dem Reinigen stets den Netzstecker ziehen.
• Braun Geräte entsprechen den einschlägigen
Sicherheitsbestimmungen. Reparaturen und das
Auswechseln der Anschlussleitung dürfen nur
autorisierte Fachkräfte vornehmen. Durch unsach-
gemäße Reparaturen können erhebliche Gefahren
für den Benutzer entstehen.

Anschließen
Kabel nur bis zu der Länge aus dem Kabelstauraum
herausziehen, die bis zur Steckdose benötigt wird (a).
Kaffee mahlen
Hinweis: Um das volle Aroma der Kaffeebohnen zu
erhalten, sollte der Vorratsbehälter mit dem Deckel gut
verschlossen werden. Auch sollte nur so viel Kaffee
gemahlen werden, wie gerade benötigt wird.
Feinheitsgrad einstellen:
Die Feinheitsgrad-Skala hat zwei Einstellbereiche:
für Filter-Kaffee («filter coffee») und für Espresso
(«espresso»).
Der gewünschte Feinheitsgrad des Mahlguts wird
durch Drehen am Einstellring
4 eingestellt, und zwar
so, dass die Markierung am Einstellring auf die ge-
wünschte Zahl bzw. den gewünschten Punkt auf der
Feinheitsgrad-Skala zeigt (b).
Der Einstellring lässt sich bis zum Anschlag im
Uhrzeigersinn drehen. Beim Einstellen des Feinheits-
grades wird das Mahlgut bei höheren Zahlen und
größer werdenden Punkten auf der Feinheitsgrad-Skala
grobkörniger.
Hinweis: Bei Benutzung einer Kaffeemaschine sollte
das Mahlgut nicht zu fein sein. Die Kaffeemaschine
könnte sonst überlaufen, weil die Flüssigkeit nicht
durch den Filter laufen kann.
Für die Zubereitung von Espresso-Kaffee sollte im
«espresso»-Bereich mit einer mittleren Einstellung
begonnen werden. Der Feinheitsgrad ist so einzu-
stellen, dass die Zubereitungsdauer des Espresso-
Kaffees ca. 25 Sekunden für zwei Tassen beträgt –
gerechnet vom ersten Austreten des Kaffees aus dem
Siebträger.
Mahlwerk einschalten:
Das Mahlwerk einschalten, indem der Drehschalter 1
nach rechts gedreht wird. Den Drehschalter so weit
stellen, bis die gewünschte Mahlgutmenge erreicht ist
(c). Die Zahlen auf der Skala um den Drehschalter sind
Merkzahlen.
Durch Zurückstellen des Drehschalters bis auf «timer
off/0» kann der Mahlvorgang jederzeit beendet oder
verkürzt werden. Auf Stellung «timer off/0» ist das Gerät
ausgeschaltet.
Mahlgut entleeren
Nach Beendigung des Mahlvorganges kann das
Kaffeepulver mit dem Messlöffel nach Abnehmen des
Deckels aus dem Mahlgutbehälter entnommen werden.
Der Mahlgutbehälter lässt sich aber auch vom Motorteil
abziehen (d).
Der Messlöffel fasst ca. 6,5 g Kaffeepulver. Dies ist
die Menge, die in der Regel für 1 Tasse Kaffee oder
Espresso benötigt wird.
Reinigen
Vor dem Reinigen immer erst den Netzstecker ziehen.
Das Gehäuse des Motorteils kann mit einem feuchten
Tuch gereinigt werden. Das Motorteil nicht ins Wasser
tauchen oder unter fließendes Wasser halten.
Der Mahlwerkschacht ist am besten mit dem Spatel
des Messlöffels zu reinigen (e).
Der Mahlgutbehälter und der Deckel können in der
Spülmaschine gereinigt werden.
Änderungen vorbehalten.
Dieses Gerät entspricht den EU-Richtlinien EMV
2004/108/EG und Niederspannung 2006/95/EC.
Dieses Gerät darf am Ende seiner Lebensdauer
nicht mit dem Hausmüll entsorgt werden. Die
Entsorgung kann über den Braun Kundendienst
oder lokal verfügbare Rückgabe- und Sammel-
systeme erfolgen.

Plugging in
Pull out only as much cord from the cord storage as you
need to the socket (a).
Grinding coffee
Notice: To retain the full flavour of the coffee beans,
the coffee bean receptacle should be always properly
closed with the lid.
Only the immediately needed quantity of coffee should
be ground at a time.
Setting the degree of fineness:
The grind fineness scale has two general sections: one
for filter coffee («filter coffee») and one for espresso-
type coffee («espresso»).
Set the desired degree of coffee grounds fineness by
turning the grind selector ring
4 so that the fineness
marker points to the desired dot on the grind fineness
scale (b).
The grind selector ring is screwed into the motor
block and can be turned from one end of the grinding
fineness spectrum to the other. If you turn the grind
selector ring anti-clockwise, the grind will be coarser
the higher the figures and the larger the dots on the
grind fineness scale are.
Notice: When using a coffeemaker, the coffee grounds
should not be too fine, as this could result in the
coffeemaker overflowing, as water would not be able
to flow as designed through the filter.
For espresso-type coffee you should try starting with a
medium setting in the «espresso» section of the grind
fineness scale, and adjust so that two cups of espresso
takes approximately 25 seconds to brew, once the
coffee starts to drip out of the filter of your espresso-
maker.
Turning on the coffee mill:
The coffee mill is switched on by turning the switch 1
clockwise. Turn the switch until you have reached the
right setting for the desired quantity of coffee grounds
(c). The marking numbers are shown on the timer scale
around the timer switch.
By returning the on/off switch to position «timer off/0»,
you may stop or shorten the grinding process at any
time.
Removing the coffee grounds
When grinding is completed, remove the lid from the
coffee grounds receptable and take out the coffee
grounds with the measuring spoon.
The coffee grounds receptacle can also be pulled off
from the motor block horizontally (d). A measuring
spoon full of coffee grounds is approximately 6.5 g,
generally the quantity needed for 1 cup of brewed
coffee or espresso.
Cleaning
Before cleaning, always first unplug the appliance.
Do not immerse the motor block in water and do not
hold it under running water. Wipe the motor block with
a damp cloth only.
The coffee grounds outlet can be cleaned with the
spatula on the reverse end of the measuring spoon (e).
The lid, the coffee grounds receptacle and the lid may
be cleaned in the dishwasher.
