carrying the kettle.
• The surface heating
element is subject to

kettle, as boiling water
and steam will scald.

• Do not remove the
kettle from the power

switched o after the
water has boiled before
removing the kettle
from the power base.

during operation.
• Do not overll the kettle
past the maximum
water level mark. If
the kettle is overlled,
boiling water may
be ejected.
• Keep the kettle clean.

to provide additional

Safety switches with a
rated operating current
not more than 30mA
are recommended.
Consult an electrician

any way, immediately
cease use of the
appliance and return

for examination,

BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any promotional material attached to
your kettle. It is recommended that before rst use,
the kettle is lled to the maximum level with cold
tap water, boiled and water discarded. Your kettle
will only operate when positioned on the power
base with the ‘On/O’ switch in the ‘On’position.
The kettle will automatically switch o once the
water has boiled.
OPERATION OF YOUR KETTLE
To ll the kettle, remove it from the power base
and open lid by pressing the lid release button.
Fill with the desired amount of water.
NOTES
• Always ll the kettle between the minimum and
maximum marks on the vessel.Too little water
will result in the kettle switching o before the
water has boiled. Filling above the maximum
mark (MAX) may result in boiling water
splashing from the kettle.
• Ensure the lid is locked rmly into place.
• Position the kettle securely onto the power base.
• Insert the power plug into a 230/240V power
outlet and switch on.
• Press the ‘On/O’ switch to the ‘On’ position for
water to boil.
IMPORTANT NOTE
This kettle must only be used with the power base
supplied. Use caution when pouring water from
your kettle, as boiling water will scald. Do not pour
the water too quickly.The kettle will automatically
switch o once the water has boiled. Lift the kettle
from the power base and pour the water. Take care
to hold the kettle level, especially when lled to
the maximum level. To re-boil it may be necessary
to wait for up to 30 seconds to allow the control to
reset. If further heating of the kettle is not required,
switch o at the power outlet, unplug the power
cord and empty the water from the kettle. Replace
the kettle onto the power base and close the lid.
Functions
SAFETY BOIL DRY PROTECTION
The kettle is tted with a safety device, which
protects against overheating should the appliance
be operated with insucient water. If this occurs,
the kettle will stop heating. Switch o at the power
outlet and allow kettle to cool before relling.
Remove the kettle from the power base and add
water. Return the kettle to the power base.The
safety device will then automatically reset.
For additional safety, your kettle is tted with
an additional thermal cut out. In the event of
overheating, the kettle will automatically shut
down to prevent further damage. Should this
occur, take your kettle to an authorized Breville®
Service Centre.

Care & Cleaning
Always switch o and unplug the appliance from
the power outlet before cleaning.
REMOVABLE FILTER
The kettle features a mesh lter to remove scale
deposits for cleaner water.To remove the scale
deposits from the lter, open the lid and slide
the lter up and out of the kettle. The lter can be
cleaned by running under hot water and rubbing
with a cleaning cloth or brush. To replace lter,
simply slide the lter down into the slot behind the
spout of the kettle and push back into position.
NOTES
• The lter could become damaged with time.
Please check regularly and replace if found
damaged.
• The concealed element in the base of the kettle
is made from high quality stainless steel. Any
brown stains appearing are the result of mineral
deposits and are not rust.
DESCALING
It is essential that regular descaling takes place.
Frequency will depend on the usage of the kettle
and the hardness of the water in your area. A
build-up of scale may cause the inside of the
kettle to discolour and ultimately may damage
the element. This will aect the eciency of
the appliance and may invalidate the warranty
agreement.We recommend the use of Breville®
“the Descaler” as it is specially formulated for
descaling kettles. To order visit www.breville.com.
WARNING
Causes skin irritation.Wash hands thoroughly
after handling. Wear protective gloves/protective
clothing/ eye protection/face protection.
1. Empty one sachet (25g) into 1 litre of warm
water, stir to dissolve.
2. Pour into the kettle.
3. Leave stand for 5 minutes.
4. After 5 minutes, discard the solution.
5. Rinse the kettle twice with fresh clean water.
NOTES
Do not use chemicals, alkaline cleaning agents,
steel wool or abrasive cleaners to clean the inside or
outside of the kettle. Use a mild cleaning agent with
a soft damp cloth.
STORAGE
Ensure the kettle is switched o, clean and dry
before storing. Ensure the lid is closed and locked
securely into place.Wrap the power cord around
the cord storage under the power base. Stand
the kettle upright on the power base. Do not store
anything on top.
