A.- INSTALLER INSTRUCTIONS.
Refer the installer to the current issue of British Standard BS 8303, Code of
Practice for installation of domestic heating and cooking appliances burning
solid mineral fuel, Building Regulations, Local Authority Byelaws and other
specifications/regulations as they affect the installation of the appliance.

•If the stove is fitted in place of an open fire then the chimney
should be swept one month after installation to clear any soot falls which
may have occurred due to the difference in combustion between the stove
and the open fire.
•Ensure all parts are fitted in accordance with the instructions.
On completion of the installation allow a suitable period of time for any fire
cement and mortar to dry out, before lighting the stove. Once the stove is
under fire check all seals for soundness and check that the flue is
functioning correctly and that all products of combustion are vented safely
to atmosphere via the chimney terminal.
On completion of the installation and commissioning ensure that the
operating instructions for the stove are left with the customer. Ensure to
advise the customer on the correct use of the appliance and warn them to
use only the recommended fuel for the stove.
Advise the user what to do should smoke or fumes be emitted from the
stove. The customer should be warned to use a fireguard to BS 8423:2002
(Replaces BS 6539) in the presence of children, aged and/or infirm persons.
•Refer the installer to the current issue of British Standard BS E
15287-1:2007 design, installation and commissioning of chimneys.
•Please fit a CO alarm in accordance with the guidelines given in
Approved Document J of The Building Regulations.

Properly installed, operated and maintained this stove will not emit fumes
into the dwelling. Occasional fumes from de-ashing and re-fuelling may
occur. However, persistent fume emission is potentially dangerous and must
not be tolerated. If fume emission does persist, then the following immediate
action should be taken:-
(a) Open doors and windows to ventilate the room and then leave the
premises.
(b) Let the fire go out.
(c) Check for flue or chimney blockage and clean if required
(d) Do not attempt to relight the fire until the cause of the fume emission
has been identified and corrected. If necessary seek expert advice.

The minimum distance between the appliance opening and combustible
parts of the building or décor must be at least 1m.

The appliance must stand on a non-combustible constructional hearth
which is at least 125mm thick with the minimum dimensions as shown in
diagram.
The building must have a suitable load-bearing capacity for the hearth and
appliance. Consult a structural engineer for advice before proceeding.
When fitting into an existing hearth check that the hearth complies with
current construction regulations and is at least the minimum sizes shown.
If there is no existing fireplace or chimney it is possible to construct a suitable
non-combustible housing and hearth setting. The flue must be installed in
accordance with all local and national regulations and current rules in force.

E G The primary air intake is situated beneath the stove door and controls the
intake of air to the fuel via the grille and the
ash pan. The primary air intake is essential for keeping the fire alight and the
ash pan must be emptied regularly in order
not to block it.

If emptying hot ashes from the fire, they should be kept in a fireproof
container with an airtight lid. It should then be kept on a fireproof base,
away from inflammable materials, until the ashes have cooled completely.
Clean and check the fresh air intake at least once a year. The chimney must
also be regularly swept (as mentioned above).
CLEA I G OF EXTERIOR
Do not clean the exterior (surface) of the stove with water or abrasive
products as they could damage the surface. Use a duster or a moist cloth.
PERMITTED AND PROHIBITED FUELS
Only dry/seasoned wood with a maximum water content of 20% may be
burned and it must be stored in a dry place.
Logs should be between 20-30cm long, and the load should not be more
than two thirds of the volume of the fire box.
Compressed Wood Briquettes may be used but should be used with caution
because they have a higher heat output than wood and may damage the
apparatus.
Freshly cut (unseasoned) wood has approximately 60% water content. It is
unsuitable for burning and makes lighting difficult as a large part of the heat
produced is needed to vaporise the water.
The high water content in the wood also has the disadvantage that when
the temperature of the fire drops, the water condenses first in the fire box
itself then in the chimney, causing a build-up of soot and consequent risk of
fire.
Coal unless authorized, carpentry off-cuts, wet or painted wood, plastics or
rubbish must not be burned as the apparatus will be damaged and the
product guarantee will be rendered void. Paper and cardboard should only
be used for initial lighting.
The following table shows the quality and suitability of different types of
wood used for fuel.

therefore recommended that the chimney be swept a second time within
a month of regular use after installation. We woluld like to make
emphasise the importance of cleaning the appliance flue-ways, flue-pipe
and chimney prior to lighting up after a prolonged shut-down period
•If the stove is to be left unused for a prolonged period of time then
it should be given a thorough clean to remove ash and unburned fuel
residues. To enable a good flow of air through the appliance to reduce
condensation and subsequent damage, leave the air controls fully open.
It is important that the flue connection, any appliance baffles or throat
plates and the chimney are swept prior to lighting up after a prolonged
shutdown period.
The apparatus must be thoroughly cleaned before each period of use.

During normal use, the apparatus will not suffer any damage. When wood is
burned slowly tar and gasses are emitted, which, when combined with
normal humidity, lead to the creation of soot.
An excessive build-up of soot in the chimney can cause problems with the
smoke discharge and a risk of fire.
Cleaning should only be undertaken by a professional chimney-sweep and
should be carried out when the apparatus is cold. It is advisable to check the
condition of the apparatus at the same time and keep a note of the dates on
which this work has been carried out.
Remove the ash pan, the grille and the smoke deflector prior to cleaning in
order to facilitate the elimination of the soot.
Once the cleaning operation is completed the smoke deflector must be
replaced.
CLEA I G THE GLASS
• IMPORTA T: The glass must only be cleaned when it is completely cold to
avoid the possibility of shattering.
Commercial products may be used, or alternatively clean it with moistened
newspaper which has been dabbed in the ashes. Abrasive cleaners should
not be use to remove deposits from the glass.
EMPTYI G THE ASHES
All stoves have a grate and an ash pan for collecting the ashes. The ash pan
must not be allowed to fill up completely, and must be regularly emptied so
as not to overheat the grate. However, we recommend that 3-4cms of ash
always be left in the stove.

instalados de fabrica. Para facilitar su extracción / colocación hemos de
extraer las placas de vermiculita laterales de 110x290 mm.

• Even after this initial phase of “running in” is complete, the appliance
should be treated like car engines i.e. avoid both overloading and
overheating.
NORMAL FUNCTIONING
• Adjust the smoke regulator (where present) and load the wood into the
firebox. Do not overload the chamber as this can cause deformations in the
apparatus and will render the guarantee void. (See recommended fuel
load).
• The heat output can be regulated using the adjustments on the front of
the appliance (primary and secondary air). Opening these controls will
increase it. On first lighting, the optimum fire, with minimum emissions, will
be achieved when the majority of the air enters via the secondary air
intake.
• As well as regulating the air intake via the manual adjustments, the draw
on the flue will affect the rate of combustion and the heat output of the
apparatus. A strong pull on the chimney will need a reduction on the draw
to the fire, while a weak pull will require extra attention to the setting of
the air intake controls. Check if the draw to the fire is correct by looking at
the colour of the smoke being emitted. It should be transparent. If it is
white, it means that the controls have not been set correctly or the wood is
too wet. If, on the other hand, the smoke is black or grey, it means that the
wood is not being completely burned and the secondary air intake must be
increased.
GENERAL CHIMNEY MAINTENANCE.
•Is necessary a regular sweeping of the chimney and any
connecting flue-pipe, cleaning the appliance flue-ways if incorporated, and
servicing the appliance. Regular sweeping means at least once a year for
smokeless fuels and a minimum of twice a year for bituminous coal, wood
or any other non-authorised/smokey fuel. If a throat plate is incorporated,
stress the need for its monthly cleaning and describe the method. Ensure
adequate access to cleaning doors where it is not possible to sweep the
chimney through the appliance. Where the chimney is believed to have
served an open fire installation it is possible that the higher flue gas
temperature from a closed appliance may loosen deposits that were
previously firmly adhered, with the consequent risk of flue blockage. It is

Once the fire is firmly alight and has produced a glowing bed of ash, it can
be stoked. Always open the fire door slowly and adjust the air intake to
avoid a down-draught of smoke into the room. ever overload the fire box.

overheating and damage the apparatus.

On first lighting, because the products have been treated with heat
resistant paint, the following factors must be borne in mind:
• The component parts of the apparatus are not homogeneous, being
composed of both steel and cast iron.
• The temperatures reached by the different materials making up the body
of the apparatus are not homogeneous and can vary between 300C and
500C.
• During its lifetime, the product will be subject to alternating cycles of
heating and cooling both on a daily basis as well as cycles of intense use or
total rest depending on the season.
• Before fully settling in, the apparatus must be subjected to several cycles
of use so that the materials and paintwork can settle in and bind flexibly.
• In particular it may be noticeable on first lighting the stove that there is
smell of hot metal and fresh paint. During manufacture the paint has
already been heat treated to extremely high temperatures but before
binding completely with the metal surface it needs to be run at sustained
temperatures of 350 degrees for long periods and on several occasions.
LIGHTING:
Keep the room well ventilated to avoid a build up of fumes.
• For the first few lightings of the fire, take care not to overload the fire box
with fuel and, preferably, keep it lit for 6-10 hours continuously. Repeat this
procedure at least four or five times
• Afterwards, load increasing amounts of wood into the firebox and keep
the fire going for longer periods. During this initial phase avoid short cycles
of usage.
• During the first few uses, nothing should be placed on the apparatus or
the paintwork, nor should painted surfaces be touched whilst heating up.

ESP Previamente a la instalación del modelo debemos comprobar la altura
de la habitación. Hay que tener en cuenta que la altura de la chimenea
está comprendida entre un mínimo de 190 cm., con la rejilla telescópica
totalmente introducida y un máximo de 289 cm. con la rejilla
telescópica totalmente extraída y apoyado el insertable sobre cualquiera
de las mesas metálicas (60 y 100 cm), en caso contrario, descontar las
altura de dichas mesas.

Normas de Instalación
La manera de instalar el producto que usted ha adquirido influirá decisivamente en la seguridad y buen funcionamiento
del mismo por lo que se recomienda que sea llevada a cabo por personal cualificado e informado acerca del cumplimiento
de las normas de seguridad. Si su aparato está mal instalado podrá causar graves daños.
Antes de la instalación, realizar los controles siguientes:
• Asegurarse de que el suelo pueda sostener el peso del aparato y realizar un aislamiento adecuado en caso de estar
fabricado en material inflamable (madera...), o de material susceptible de ser afectado por choque térmico.
• Asegurarse de que en el ambiente donde se instale haya una ventilación adecuada (presencia de toma de aire).
• Evitar la instalación en ambientes con presencia de conductos de ventilación colectiva, campanas con o sin extractor,
aparatos de gas de tipo B, bombas de calor o la presencia de aparatos cuyo funcionamiento simultáneo pueda poner en
depresión el ambiente.
• Asegurarse de que el humero y los tubos a los que se conecte el aparato sean idóneos para el funcionamiento del
mismo.
• Asegurarse que cada aparato tenga su propio conducto de humos. No usar el mismo conducto para varios aparatos.
Les recomendamos que llamen a su limpiachimeneas habitual para que controle tanto la conexión a la chimenea, como el
suficiente flujo de aire para la combustión al lugar de instalación.
1. MEDIDAS DE SEGURIDAD
Durante la instalación del aparato, existen ciertos riesgos que hay que tener en cuenta por lo que se deben adoptar las
siguientes medidas de seguridad:
a) Mantenga alejado cualquier material inflamable o sensible al calor (muebles, cortinas, ropas...) a una distancia mínima
de seguridad de unos 150cm.
b) Cuando el aparato se instale sobre un suelo no completamente refractario, se tendrá que introducir una base ignífuga,
por ejemplo una tarima de acero.
c) No situar la estufa cerca de paredes combustibles o susceptibles de ser afectadas por choque térmico.
d) La estufa debe funcionar únicamente con el cajón de la ceniza introducido.
e) Se recomienda instalar detector de monóxido de carbono (CO) en la habitación de instalación del aparato.
f) Usar el guante que se incluye, para abrir y cerrar la puerta, así como para la manipulación de los controles.
g) Los residuos sólidos de la combustión (cenizas) deben recogerse en un contenedor hermético y resistente al fuego.h
h) El aparato nunca debe encenderse en presencia de emisión de gases o vapores (por ejemplo, pegamento para linóneo,
gasolina, etc.). i) No depositar materiales inflamables en las proximidades del mismo.
¡¡ CUIDADO!! Se advierte que tanto el aparato como el cristal se vuelven muy calientes y no se deben
tocar.
Si se manifiesta un incendio en el aparato o en el humero:
a) Cerrar la puerta de carga.
b) Cerrar los ajustes de aire comburente.
c) Apagar el fuego utilizando extintores de dióxido de carbono (CO2 de polvos).
d) Pedir la intervención inmediata de los BOMBEROS.
NO APAGUEN EL FUEGO CON CHORROS DE AGUA.
ADVERTENCIA:
La empresa declina toda responsabilidad por el mal funcionamiento de una instalación no conforme a las
prescripciones de estas instrucciones, o por el uso de productos adicionales no adecuados.
1.1. PROTECCIÓN DE VIGAS Y REVESTIMIENTOS
Considerada la radiación del insert, se deberá prestar especial atención a la protección de las vigas: cuando diseñen su
chimenea, tengan en cuenta, por una parte, la proximidad de la viga a las caras exteriores del hogar, y por otra, la
irradiación de la puerta de cristal, que normalmente está muy cerca de las propias vigas. En todo caso, las caras interiores
o inferiores de esta viga en material combustible, no deben de estar en contacto con temperaturas superiores a 65ºC.
En el D1 (pag. 23) se muestran algunos ejemplos de solución. Si el aparato se instala en un revestimiento, ya sea de
ladrillo, mármol, granito, etc., se debe dejar un espacio entre el aparato y el revestimiento para facilitar la dilatación del
mismo y evitar roturas.
2. CONDUCTO DE HUMOS
El conducto de humos supone un aspecto de importancia básica en el buen funcionamiento de la estufa y cumple
principalmente dos funciones:
• Evacuar los humos y gases sin peligro fuera de la vivienda.
• Proporcionar tiro suficiente en la estufa para que el fuego se mantenga vivo.
Resulta imprescindible que esté fabricado perfectamente y que sea sometido a operaciones de mantenimiento para
conservarlo en buen estado. (Gran parte de las reclamaciones por mal funcionamiento de los aparatos se refieren
exclusivamente a un tiro inadecuado.)
Debe cumplir los siguientes requisitos para el correcto funcionamiento del aparato:
• La sección interior debe ser preferentemente circular.
• Estar térmicamente aislado en toda su longitud, para evitar fenómenos de condensación (el humo se licua
por choque térmico) y aún con mayor motivo si la instalación es por el exterior de la vivienda.
• Si usamos conducto metálico (tubo) para la instalación por el exterior de la vivienda, se debe usar
obligatoriamente tubo aislado térmicamente. Igualmente evitaremos fenómenos de condensación.
• No presentar estrangulamientos (ampliaciones o reducciones) y tener una estructura vertical con desviaciones no
superiores a 45º.
• Si ya ha sido utilizado anteriormente, debe estar limpio.
• Respetar los datos técnicos del manual de instrucciones.
Un tiro óptimo, varía entre 10 y 13 (Pascal). Un valor inferior (poco tiro) conlleva una mala combustión, que provoca
depósitos carbónicos y excesiva formación de humo, pudiéndose entonces observar fugas del mismo y lo que es peor, un
aumento de la temperatura, que podría provocar daños en los componentes estructurales de la estufa.

Un valor superior (mucho tiro), conlleva una combustión demasiado rápida, con la dispersión del calor a través del
conducto de humos.
Están prohibidos, y por lo tanto perjudican el buen funcionamiento del aparato: fibrocemento, acero galvanizado,
superficies interiores ásperas y porosas. En el D2 (pág. 23), se muestran algunos ejemplos de solución.
Todas las estufas que eliminan los humos producidos al exterior deben contar con su propio conducto de humo. No hay
que utilizar nunca el mismo conducto para varios aparatos a la vez. Dibujo 3 y 4 (pág. 23). La sección
mínima debe ser de 4 dm
2
(por ejemplo, 20 x 20 cm) para los aparatos cuyo diámetro de conducto sea
inferior a 200mm, o 6,25 dm
2
(por ejemplo, 25 x 25 cm) para los aparatos con diámetro superior a
200mm.
Una sección del humero demasiado importante puede presentar un volumen demasiado grande que calentar y por lo
tanto, causar dificultades de funcionamiento en el aparato; para evitar este fenómeno, recomendamos entubar el
mismo en toda su longitud. Una sección demasiado pequeña provocará una disminución del tiro.
El conducto de humo tiene que estar adecuadamente alejado de materiales inflamables o combustibles a
través de un oportuno aislamiento o un intersticio de aire. Queda prohibido hacer transitar por el
interior tuberías de instalaciones o canales de abducción de aire. Queda prohibido también hacer aberturas
móviles o fijas en el mismo para la conexión de ulteriores aparatos diferentes.

2.1. SOMBRERETE
El tiro del conducto de humos también depende de la idoneidad del sombrerete. Por lo tanto es indispensable que, si
está construida de forma artesanal, la sección de salida sea más de dos veces la sección interior del humero. Puesto que
tiene que superar, siempre, la cumbre del tejado, la chimenea deberá asegurar la descarga incluso en presencia de viento.

El sombrerete debe cumplir con los requisitos siguientes:
- Tener una sección interior equivalente a la de la chimenea.
- Tener una sección útil de salida, doble de la interior del humero.
- Estar construido de manera que impida la penetración en el humero de lluvia, nieve y cualquier cuerpo ajeno.
- Ser fácilmente inspeccionable, para las operaciones de mantenimiento y limpieza que procedan.
3. CONEXIÓN AL HUMERO / AIRE PARA LA COMBUSTIÓN (toma de aire)
La conexión del aparato debe realizarse con tubos rígidos de acero aluminado, o bien de acero inoxidable.
Está prohibido el uso de tubos flexibles metálicos o de fibrocemento porque perjudican la seguridad de
la misma unión, puesto que están sujetos a tirones o roturas, causando pérdidas de humo.
El tubo de descarga de humos debe fijarse herméticamente al aparato y puede tener una inclinación máxima de 45º, para
evitar depósitos excesivos de condensación producida en las fases iniciales de encendido y/o la formación excesiva de
hollín. Además evita la ralentización de los humos al salir.
La falta de sellado de la conexión puede causar el mal funcionamiento del aparato. El diámetro interior del tubo de
conexión debe corresponder al diámetro exterior del tronco de descarga de humos del aparato. Dicha prestación la
aseguran los tubos conformes a DIN 1298. La depresión en la chimenea debería ser de 10 - 13 Pa.
La medición se debe realizar siempre con el aparato caliente (rendimiento calorífico nominal). Cuando la depresión
supere 15 Pa, será necesario reducir la misma instalando un regulador de tiro adicional.
IMPORTANTE:
Utilizando tubos metálicos es indispensable que los mismos estén aislados con materiales apropiados (revestimientos de
fibra aislante), con el fin de evitar el deterioro de las mamposterías o del revestimiento interior de la campana. En caso de
instalar el hogar en chimeneas preexistentes es indispensable cerrar la parte alta interior de la chimenea, utilizando una
chapa (oportunamente perforada anteriormente) u otro material ignífugo que pueda soportar sin daños una temperatura
muy elevada. (Véase D9 pág. 25).
En el caso de inserts cuando se inserta en un revestimiento o en una chimenea preexistente, es
indispensable que el espacio incluido entre la parte superior, los lados del aparato y el material
incombustible de la campana (que obtura la base del humero), estén constantemente ventilados. Por
este motivo, es necesario permitir una entrada de aire por la parte inferior del revestimiento (entrada de
aire fresco) y una salida en la parte superior (salida de aire caliente) por la campana. Con esto
mejoraremos el funcionamiento del conjunto ya que estamos estableciendo un circuito de convección
natural. Cada una de estas aperturas, debe estar libre y no poder obturarse, con una superficie mínima
de al menos 3 dm
2
(por ejemplo, rejilla de 30 x 10 cm). Ver D11 (pág. 26).
3.1. TOMA DE AIRE EXTERIOR
Para el buen funcionamiento del aparato es esencial que en el lugar de instalación se introduzca suficiente aire para la
combustión y la reoxigenación del mismo ambiente. Esto significa que, a través de unas aperturas comunicantes con el
exterior, debe poder circular aire para la combustión incluso con las puertas y ventanas cerradas.
• La toma de aire debe estar posicionada de manera que no pueda obstruirse.
• Ser comunicante con el ambiente de instalación del aparato y estar protegida por una rejilla.
• La superficie mínima no debe ser inferior a 100 cm2.
• Cuando el flujo de aire se obtenga a través de aperturas comunicantes con el exterior de ambientes
adyacentes, se tendrán que evitar tomas de aire en conexión con garajes, cocinas, servicios, centrales
témicas.
4. COMBUSTIBLES PERMITIDOS / NO PERMITIDOS
Los combustibles permitidos son las leñas. Se deben utilizar única y exclusivamente leñas secas. Los leños deben
tener una longitud de 20-30 cm aproximadamente. La carga de leña no será superior a los 2/3 del volumen de la cámara
de combustión. Los pequeños troncos de madera prensados no resinados deben utilizarse con cautela para
evitar sobrecalentamientos perjudiciales para el aparato, puesto que tienen un poder calorífico elevado.
La leña utilizada como combustible debe tener un contenido de humedad inferior al 20% y se tiene que guardar en un
lugar seco. La leña húmeda tiene aproximadamente el 60% de agua, por lo tanto no es adecuada para quemarse ya que

provoca que el encendido resulte más difícil, ya que ésta obliga a utilizar gran parte del calor producido para vaporizar el
agua. Además, el contenido húmedo tiene la desventaja de que, al bajar la temperatura, el agua se condensa antes en la
estufa y luego en la chimenea, causando una considerable acumulación de hollín con consecuente posible riesgo de
incendiarse.
Entre otros, no se pueden quemar: carbón (salvo que el fabricante así lo especifique), retazos, restos de cortezas y
paneles, leña húmeda o tratada con pintura, materiales de plástico; en estos casos, se anula la garantía del aparato. Papel
y cartón deben utilizarse sólo para el encendido. La combustión de desechos está prohibida y, además, perjudicaría el
aparato.
5. PUESTA EN MARCHA
Para encender el fuego, recomendamos utilizar pequeños listones de madera con papel, o bien otros medios de
encendido presentes en el mercado. Está prohibido el uso de todas las sustancias líquidas, tales como, por
ejemplo, alcohol, gasolina, petróleo y similares.
Cuando la leña empieza a arder, se puede recargar abriendo lentamente la puerta, para evitar salidas de humo y regular
el aire para la combustión según las indicaciones. Nunca se debe sobrecargar el aparato. Demasiado
combustible y demasiado aire para la combustión pueden causar sobrecalentamiento y, por lo tanto,
dañar el aparato. Nunca encender el aparato cuando haya gases combustibles en el ambiente. Para realizar una
correcta primera puesta en marcha de los productos tratados con pinturas para altas temperaturas es necesario saber lo
siguiente:
- Los materiales de fabricación de los productos en cuestión no son homogéneos puesto que en ellos coexisten partes de
hierro fundido y acero.
- La temperatura a la que el cuerpo del producto está sujeto no es homogénea: de zona a zona se observan temperaturas
variables de 300º C a 500º C.
- Durante su vida, el producto está sujeto a ciclos alternados de encendido y apagado en el transcurso del mismo día, así
como a ciclos de uso intenso o de descanso total al variar las estaciones.
- El aparato nuevo, antes de poder definirse usado, deberá someterse a distintos ciclos de puesta en marcha para que
todos los materiales y la pintura puedan completar las distintas solicitaciones elásticas.
- En particular, inicialmente se podrá notar la emisión de humos y olores típicos de los metales sometidos a
gran solicitación térmica y de la pintura todavía fresca. Dicha pintura, aunque en fase de construcción se cuece
a 80ºC durante unos minutos, deberá superar, más veces y durante cierto tiempo, la temperatura de 350ºC, antes de
incorporarse perfectamente con las superficies metálicas.
- En días nublados es normal que el tiro no sea correcto.
Por lo tanto, es importante adoptar estas pequeñas precauciones en fase de puesta en marcha:
1) Asegurarse de que esté garantizado un fuerte recambio de aire en el lugar donde está instalado el aparato.
2) Durante los primeros encendidos, no cargar excesivamente la cámara de combustión y mantener el producto
encendido durante por lo menos 6-10 horas continuas.
3) Repetir esta operación como mínimo 4-5 veces, según su disponibilidad.
4) Posteriormente, cargar cada vez más y mantener períodos de encendido posiblemente largos, evitando, al menos en
esta fase inicial, ciclos de encendido-apagado de corta duración.
5) Durante las primeras puestas en marcha, ningún objeto debería apoyarse sobre el aparato y, en
particular, sobre las superficies lacadas. Las superficies lacadas, no deben tocarse durante el
calentamiento.
6) Tras superar el “rodaje”, podrán utilizar su producto como el motor de un coche, evitando bruscos calentamientos con
cargas excesivas.
6. FUNCIONAMIENTO NORMAL
Introducir la carga de leña evitando sobrecargas que provoquen solicitaciones anómalas y deformaciones.
El incumplimiento de esta regla causará la anulación de la garantía. (Ver carga de combustible
recomendada por el fabricante). Con los ajustes situados en la fachada del aparato, se regula la emisión de calor del
mismo. Éstos se deben abrir según la necesidad calorífica. La mejor combustión (con emisiones mínimas) se alcanza
cuando, al cargar leña, la mayor parte del aire para la combustión pasa a través del ajuste de aire secundario.
Además de la regulación del aire para la combustión, el tiro también afecta a la intensidad de la combustión y luego al
rendimiento calorífico de su aparato. Un buen tiro de la chimenea necesita una regulación más reducida del aire para la
combustión, mientras que un tiro escaso, necesita aún más una regulación exacta del aire para la combustión.
Para comprobar si la combustión es buena, controlar si el humo que sale de la chimenea es transparente. Si es blanco,
significa que el aparato no está regulado correctamente o la leña está demasiado mojada; si, en cambio, es gris o negro,
significa que la combustión no es completa (es necesaria una mayor cantidad de aire secundario).
7. MANTENIMIENTO Y CUIDADO
El aparato debería limpiarse completamente por lo menos cuatro veces al año, una vez por cada estación anual, y como
mínimo antes de comenzar la temporada de uso.

Installation Requirements
The way in which your new product is installed will directly affect its safety and efficiency. BRONPI heating
appliances are not intended for installation as a DIY product. All stoves & appliances should always be
installed only by suitably trained & qualified heating engineers. All local regulations, including National
& European Standards need to be complied with when installing Bronpi appliances. Serious damage to the
appliance, as well as personal injury, can occur if your apparatus is installed incorrectly.
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, the following measures must be taken:
• Check that the floor is strong enough to support the weight of the apparatus and if it is made of flammable material
(wood, etc) or material susceptible to high temperatures, carry out the necessary insulation work to provide a suitable sub
strata.
• Check that the room in which it is to be installed has adequate ventilation of fresh air.
• Avoid installation in rooms with shared ventilation vents, hoods (with or without extractors), type B gas appliances, gas
bottles or other appliances whose simultaneous use may affect the draw to the appliance (UNE 10683/98).
• Make sure that the chimney and the flue system/flue liner used is that recommended for the product
• Ensure that each appliance has its own chimney. The same chimney must not be used for more than one appliance and
should be checked for as the presence of a sufficient draw to the combustion chamber of the product.
We suggest you contact your chimney sweep to get the chimney swept before lighting the appliance.
1. FIRE PRECAUTIONS
DURING INSTALLATION, the following safety measures must be observed at all times:
a) Keep all heat sensitive or flammable materials at least 150cm away from the appliance (furniture, curtains, clothing,
etc.).
b) When the appliance is to be installed on flooring that is not completely insulated, a fireproof base (such as a suitable
constructional hearth and superimposed hearth) must be installed.
c) Do not install the appliance close to flammable or heat-sensitive walls.
d) The product must only be used with the ash pan in place.
e) We recommend the installation of a carbon monoxide detector in the room where the appliance is fitted.
DURING OPERATION, the following precautions should be followed:

1.2 PROTECTION OF TIMBER BEAMS
Given the amount of heat produced by the insert, special attention must be taken to protect nearby wooden beams.
When designing the fireplace both the proximity of the beams to the exterior surfaces of the fire, and the heat emitted
from the glass door need to be taken into account. The exterior faces of combustible beams must not be subjected to
temperatures exceeding 65º∞C.
(Some suggested solutions to this matter appear in the drawing “D1” on page 23. where: 1=Timber
Beam, 2=Fireproof insulating material, 3= Gap & 4=Metal Protector)
If an appliance is to be installed in a fire surround wich use stone/granite/marble/ as a part of its construction then
provision must be made for suitable expansion joint to cope with movement of the parts due to heating and cooling.
2. THE CHIMNEY
The chimney is of fundamental importance for the correct functioning of the appliance, and has two purposes:
• It channels smoke and gasses harmlessly away from the room, because products of combustion being allowed to enter
the room can cause serious health risks.
• It provides a sufficient draw to keep the fire alight
It is essential that the chimney is correctly built and is subject to regular maintenance to keep it in good order. (Most
complaints of incorrect functioning of an appliance are due to an inadequate draw or other chimney malfunction).
The correct functioning of the apparatus requires the following chimney/flue conditions:
• The internal section of the chimney should preferably be circular
• The entire height of the chimney must be heat insulated correctly in order to avoid problems with smoke condensation,
this is especially so in cases of external chimneys.
• If metal flue pipes are fitted to form an external chimney only twin-wall insulated flue pipes should be used in order to
avoid problems with condensation.
• The chimney should have an even diameter throughout its length (i.e. no increases or reductions in the volume of the
chimney).
• The chimney should be vertical and have no bends of over 45∞within it.
• Any existing chimney must be swept before installation of an appliance.
• Technical data in the flue manufacturer's instruction manual must be complied with.
The optimum draw of a chimney should be between 10 and 13 on the Pascal scale. A lesser value (weak draw) results in
incomplete combustion, which produces carbon deposits and excess smoke production. It can also lead to smoke leaks
and increases in temperature within the appliance, which can (in turn) cause serious damage to the structural
components of the product. Too much draw in the chimney can result in the fire burning too rapidly and too much heat
being passed through the flue tubing. Chimneys constructed from fibrous cement, galvanised steel and chimneys with
rough or porous interior surfaces are forbidden, and would lead to poor functioning of the equipment.

7.1 LIMPIEZA DEL CONDUCTO DE HUMOS
Durante la utilización normal, el modelo no sufre daños de ninguna manera. Cuando la madera se quema lentamente se
producen alquitranes y otros vapores orgánicos que al combinarse con la humedad ambiente forman la creosota (hollín).
Una excesiva acumulación de hollín puede causar problemas en la descarga de humos e incluso el incendio del propio
humero. La limpieza se tiene que realizar exclusivamente con el aparato frío. De esta operación debería encargarse un
limpiachimeneas, que, al mismo tiempo, puede realizar una inspección (es conveniente anotar fecha de cada limpieza y
realizar un registro de las mismas). Durante la limpieza es necesario quitar del aparato el cajón de la ceniza, la rejilla, y el
deflector de humos para favorecer la caída del hollín. Una vez terminada la limpieza, se tiene que volver a colocar en su
alojamiento.
7.2 LIMPIEZA DEL CRISTAL
IMPORTANTE: La limpieza del cristal se tiene que realizar única y exclusivamente con el aparato frío,
para evitar la explosión del mismo. Para la limpieza se pueden utilizar productos específicos, o bien una
bola de papel de periódico humedecida, pasada en la ceniza, fregando el cristal.
ROTURA DE CRISTALES: Los cristales, al ser vitrocerámicos (resisten hasta una salto térmico de 750ºC) no
están sujetos a choques térmicos. Su rotura, sólo la pueden causar los choques mecánicos (choques o
cierre violento de la puerta, etc). Por lo tanto, su sustitución no está incluida en la garantía.
7.3 LIMPIEZA DE LA CENIZA
Todos los modelos tienen una rejilla y un cajón para la recogida de la ceniza. Les recomendamos que vacíen
periódicamente el cajón de la ceniza, evitando que se llene totalmente, para no sobrecalentar la rejilla. Además, les
recomendamos que dejen siempre 3-4 cm de ceniza dentro de la cámara.
Las cenizas sacadas de la estufa se tienen que guardar en un recipiente de material ignífugo provisto de tapa estanca. El
recipiente se tiene que colocar sobre un suelo ignífugo, lejos de materiales inflamables, hasta que las cenizas se apaguen y
enfríen completamente.
Controlar, realizando su limpieza, por lo menos una vez al año, la toma de aire exterior. La chimenea la tiene que revisar
con regularidad el limpiachimeneas. Llamen al limpiachimeneas responsable de su zona para que controle la correcta
instalación del aparato, la conexión a la chimenea y la ventilación.
7.4 LIMPIEZA EXTERIOR
No limpiar la superficie exterior de la estufa con agua o productos abrasivos, ya que podría deteriorarse.
Pasar un plumero o un paño ligeramente humedecido.
8. PAROS ESTACIONALES
Tras realizar la limpieza de la estufa, de la chimenea y del humero, eliminando totalmente la ceniza y demás residuos,
cerrar todas las puertas de la estufa y los ajustes correspondientes. La operación de limpieza del humero es recomendable
realizarla por lo menos una vez al año; mientras tanto, controlar el efectivo estado de las juntas, que, si no están
perfectamente íntegras (es decir que ya no se ajustan a la puerta), ¡no aseguran el correcto funcionamiento del aparato!
Por lo tanto es necesario cambiarlas. En caso de humedad del ambiente donde está instalado el aparato, colocar sales
absorbentes dentro de la estufa. Proteger con vaselina neutra las partes interiores, si se quiere mantener sin alteraciones
su aspecto estético en el tiempo.
9. DETERMINACIÓN DE LA POTENCIA TÉRMICA
No existe una regla absoluta que permita calcular la potencia correcta necesaria. Esta potencia varía en función del
espacio a calentar, pero también depende en gran parte del aislamiento. De promedio, la potencia calorífica necesaria
para un ambiente adecuadamente aislado será de 55W/m

. Suponiendo que ustedes quieran calentar un ambiente de
150 m

(10 x 6 x 2,5 m) en una vivienda bien aislada, necesitarán 150 m

Installation Requirements
The way in which your new product is installed will directly affect its safety and efficiency. BRONPI heating
appliances are not intended for installation as a DIY product. All stoves & appliances should always be
installed only by suitably trained & qualified heating engineers. All local regulations, including National
& European Standards need to be complied with when installing Bronpi appliances. Serious damage to the
appliance, as well as personal injury, can occur if your apparatus is installed incorrectly.
PRIOR TO INSTALLATION, the following measures must be taken:
• Check that the floor is strong enough to support the weight of the apparatus and if it is made of flammable material
(wood, etc) or material susceptible to high temperatures, carry out the necessary insulation work to provide a suitable sub
strata.
• Check that the room in which it is to be installed has adequate ventilation of fresh air.
• Avoid installation in rooms with shared ventilation vents, hoods (with or without extractors), type B gas appliances, gas
bottles or other appliances whose simultaneous use may affect the draw to the appliance (UNE 10683/98).
• Make sure that the chimney and the flue system/flue liner used is that recommended for the product
• Ensure that each appliance has its own chimney. The same chimney must not be used for more than one appliance and
should be checked for as the presence of a sufficient draw to the combustion chamber of the product.
We suggest you contact your chimney sweep to get the chimney swept before lighting the appliance.

• Each stove must have its own dedicated chimney to eliminate fumes and gasses. The same chimney must never be used
for more than one appliance. (See drawings D-3 and D-4 on page 23).
The minimum cross-sectional area of the chimney must be 400 square centimetres (e.g. 20 x 20cm) for appliances with
flue pipes of less than 200mm, or 625 square centimetres (e.g. 25 x 25 cm) for appliances having flue pipes with a
diameter over 200mm. If a section of the chimney is too large to be heated adequately, this will cause problems with the
appliance: to avoid this we recommend installing a flue pipe for the entire length of the chimney. If any section of the
chimney is constricted it will reduce the draw on the fire. The flue pipe must be installed an adequate distance from any
flammable material and have correct insulation or a sufficient air gap. Flue pipes must never be installed inside air
ventilation channels. Moveable or fixed openings must not be made in the chimney for the connection of any other
apparatus.
See drawings D6 on Page 23 - If two chimneys on the building are side by side, one must be at least
50cm higher than the other to avoid transfer of draw between them.

metres of it. If this is the case the chimney should be at least one metre higher than the obstacle

2.1 CHIMNEY COWL
The pull on the flue pipe depends on the suitability of the chimney cowl. It is essential that the sectional area of the cowl
exit is at least twice (preferably 2.5 times) that of the flue pipe. The termination of the flue pipe must always exceed the
top level of the roof so that the chimney is able to discharge even in windy conditions.
See Drawing “D8” on page 25.
Any cowl must comply with the following conditions:
• The outlet area must be at least double that of the interior section of the chimney
• It must be constructed to prevent the entry of rain, snow or foreign bodies
• It must have easy access for inspection, maintenance and cleaning
3. CONNECTION TO CHIMNEY/FRESH AIR INTAKE
The inmediate connection of the apparatus to the chimney/flue system must be made using stainless steel flue pipe.
Flexible tubing must never be used as the joints will be subject to damage and lead to smoke leaks.
The flue pipe must be hermetically sealed to the apparatus and have a maximum bend of 45 degrees. This will avoid
excessive condensation during lighting, prevent soot deposits and avoid impeding the release of smoke from the fire box.
If the seal is not properly connected the stove will not function properly.
The inside diameter of the connection tube must equal the exterior diameter of the flue pipe. Flue pipes conforming to
DIN 1298 will ensure this.
The pull on the chimney must be between 10 and 13 Pa having been measured when the fire is alight. If the pull is over
15 Pa it will be necessary to reduce it by installing an additional regulator.
Where metal flue pipes are used it is essential that they are appropriately insulated (insulated fibre cladding) to avoid
damaging the masonry in the chimney. When the apparatus is being installed in an existing chimney it must be sealed
around the flue pipe exit at the bottom entrance to the chimney with a pre-formed metal plate or other fireproof material
able to withstand very high temperatures.

Where inserts are fitted into a pre-existing chimney, it is essential that the top and sides of the apparatus are well
ventilated. There must be a fresh air intake from the base of the apparatus and a warm air outlet in the chimney breast,
which will provide natural convection and improve the product performance. These outlets must never be blocked.

3.1 FRESH AIR INTAKE
It is essential that the room in which the apparatus is installed has sufficient fresh air intake and air circulation to keep a
good draw on the fire and to re-oxygenate the room even with the doors and windows closed.
The air inlet must be positioned so that it cannot be obstructed. It must take fresh air directly into the room where the
apparatus is installed, be protected by a grille and have an area of at least 100cm2. Air inlets should not draw air from
adjacent rooms such as garages, lavatories, boiler rooms etc. but should take air directly from outside the building.
4. PERMITTED AND PROHIBITED FUELS
Only dry/seasoned wood with a maximum water content of 20% may be burned and it must be stored in a dry place.
Logs should be between 20-30cm long, and the load should not be more than two thirds of the volume of the fire box.
Compressed Wood Briquettes may be used but should be used with caution because they have a higher heat output than
wood and may damage the apparatus.
Freshly cut (unseasoned) wood has approximately 60% water content. It is unsuitable for burning and makes lighting
difficult as a large part of the heat produced is needed to vaporise the water. The high water content in the wood also
has the disadvantage that when the temperature of the fire drops, the water condenses first in the fire box itself then in
the chimney, causing a build-up of soot and consequent risk of fire.
Coal unless authorized carpentry off-cuts, wet or painted wood, plastics or rubbish must not be burned as the apparatus
will be damaged and the product guarantee will be rendered void. Paper and cardboard should only be used for initial
lighting. The following table shows the quality and suitability of different types of wood used for fuel.
