BATTERYINSTALLATION
(1)Pressthetwotabsandremovethebatterycompartmentcover.
(2)Insertfoursize-Ddrycellbatteries[IECdesignationR20(Manganese)
or
LR20(AlkalineManganese).]
Makesurethebatteriesareinsertedwiththe”+"and”—"endsalignedas
indicatedinthebatterycompartment.
(3)Replacethebatterycompartmentcover.
NOTE1:Whenthebatteriesbecomeweak,the"BATTERY”indicationwill
lightup.Whenthishappensreplaceallfourbatterieswithnew
ones.
NOTE2:Turnoffthepowerswitchwhentheunitisnotbeingused.If
theunitisnottobeusedforanextendedlengthoftime,ifmemory
backupisnotnecessary,oriftheACadaptoristobeusedfor
anextendedlengthoftime,removethebatteriestoavoidthe
chanceoffluidleakage.[Beawarethatevencommercially
availablebatterieswhichareguaranteedmaysometimes|eak.]
ACPOWERADAPTOR
ConnecttheACadaptortotheDC6Vjackonthisprinter,andthenplugthe
adaptorcordintoawalloutlet.
NOTE1:BesuretousetheACadaptordesignedfortheprinter.
NOTE2:Thebatterieswillbeautomatically
disconnectedfromthepower
supplycircuitwhentheACadaptorisconnected.
NOTE3:Iftheprinterisnotusedforextendedperiodsoftime,disconnect
theACadaptorfromboththewalloutletandthisunit'sjack.

Printpreparations
1.PowerswitchON
TurnthepowerswitchON.Thecarrierwillmovetotheextremeleftside
andthenautomaticallymovetotheleftmarginsetting.
NOTE:Theautomaticpower-offfunctionwillactivateandturntheprinter
offiftheprinterisnotusedfor10minutes.(Refertopage9)
2.Paperinsertion
(1)Openthepaperholder.
(2)Insertasheetofpaperinthegapinfrontofthepaperholder.
NOTE1:Paperselection:
MosttypesofSMOOTHFINISHPAPERareacceptableforuse
withthisprinter.Butitispreferabletouseourrecommended
plainpaperenablingtogetbestprintquality.Roughpapersuch
asexpensiverag-contentpaperisnotrecommended.Ifyouuse
thermalpaper,youcanprintwithoutusingthecassetteribbon.
