EVP – 2001-00 Wall mounting bracket evse electrical service connection
To mount the EVP – 2001 – 00 EVSE onto your garage wall please follow these instructions.
1. Locate the wall studs in the wall you wish to hang the EVSE. It is critical that the screws
holding the EVSE to the wall are screwed into the solid wood of a stud, not just into the
wallboard.
2. When you find the center of a stud, mark it with pencil on the wall. Measure the vertical
distance between the screw holes on the mount.
3. Using the mounting bracket provided (Fig. 16) mark the location where the lag bolts will
be placed.
4. Double check that the mount will be level using a level. It is crucial that you mount it level.
5. Drill qty 6 15/64 inch pilot holes used to install the mounting bracket onto the wall.

Install ¼ - 2 inch lag bolts as shown above.
Utilize type A ¼ inch washers as shown.
2.5 EVP-XXX charge system electrical connection
System electrical power needs to be provisioned with the following:
•1 inch conduit to be routed per NEC code standards
•2 appropriately gauged hot leads (typically 10 AWG for 30A installs and 8 AWG for 40A
installs)
•1 appropriately gauge ground (green) lead
•Install electrical conduit per all applicable state and federal regulations
•EVSE power should be inserted thru bottom of EVSE enclosure
•Electrical connections shall be made as shown
•Note, for the dual units, two separate line pairs need to be connected from independent
service panel breakers of the appropriate rating.
•Typically city agencies require a 20% margin in panel breaker sizing. So a 40A EVSE
will require a 50A breaker. Check with local codes.

Note: Each hot lead should measure 120 vac to ground.
Service Connections
Connect L1 and L2 to the input safety breaker. BTCPower highly recommends crimp ferrule
lugs to be used to make all electrical connection to the input safety breaker. This requires the
correct crimping tool. In addition, a torque wrench should be used on the input breaker screw
terminals. Set the wrench to a torque of 2.4NM or 21.2 lb-in. A pull test should be done on the
wire connections to ensure proper connection.
