load limit!

ASS MBLY INSTRUCTIONS
Strut Tubes
1. Loos n tub clamps. Ins rt low r strut tub s up through th
bottom of th tub clamps. L av tub clamps whilst you
pr par th oth r parts.
2. Attach low r strut tub s to th saf ty-lock brack t with th
attach d 1/4 x 1 1/2" cap scr w & nylon lock nut. Tight n wh n
ass mbly is compl t .
3. Slid th upp r strut tub s down ov r th low r strut tub s and
through th tub clamps. Position so th l g bands ar just
abov th larg portion of th l g calv s.
Note: Do not bend the leg bands.
4. Ev nly tight n th tub clamps to pr v nt th upp r strut tub
from rotating wh n us d. Ov r tight ning th tub s could
p rman ntly d form th m and r quir th ir r plac m nt.
5. Position th tub clamps in th clamp brack t slots, according
to your calf siz , so th stilts will stand straight wh n mount d,
and tight n w ll.
6.
Attach th h l brack ts to th footplat s using th No. 10 x 1
/2 Phillips machin scr ws and nuts. Adjust th h l brack t so
your outsid ankl bon is dir ctly ov r th r ar pivot bolt and
tight n w ll.

Strap Kit
1. Position th to (short) and arch (long) straps on th footplat s
with th fast n rs on th sam sid as th strut tub .
2. F d th nds of both straps ov r and through th Saf ty
Anchor Slot Syst m and s cur th straps with th strap plat &
scr ws provid d.
3. S t spring adjust rs to minimum compr ssion. S t adjustabl
stilt l gs to th low st s tting and tight n wing bolts.

R -ch ck all th compon nts you hav ass mbl d. R position
th tub clamps and l g bands until you f l totally comfortabl .
You should stand straight on your stilts so th stilts don’t pull in
or out.

Height Adjustment
Wh n adjusting th h ights of th stilts r mov wing bolts.

xt nsion tub s r plac th bolts and tight n w ll.

MAINTAINANC
Lubrication
In ord r to k p your stilts op rating fr ly, it is n c ssary to k p th
compon nts r asonably cl an and fr of d nts or burrs. Pay sp cial
att ntion to th compon nts which h lp op rat th mov m nt.
Lubricat th s moving compon nts lightly with a silicon spray or
whit graphit powd r. Do not us lubricating products which r main
w t and attract grit or any typ of ch mical cl an r. Mak c rtain
sol s ar k pt fr of lubricants which could caus loss of traction.
WARNING:
Do not mak modifications on parts. Always us g nuin r plac m nt
parts. Contact d al r for mor information.
Replacement Nylon Sleeves
R mov wing bolts and r mov th upp r foot plat (tog th r with th
xt nsion tub s and floor plat ). Pry th small sl v s from th
xt nsion tub upp r nds, and r mov . Th larg sl v s can now
b r mov d. To r ass mbl , ch ck xt nsion tub hol s for burrs, fil
smooth. Slid n w larg sl v s down ov r th xt nsion tub s until
th larg sl v tabs ar align d ov r th d t nts at th bottom of th
xt nsion tub s. Ins rt n w small sl v s ov r th top of th
xt nsion tub s until it snaps past th upp r locking tabs of th
xt nsion tub s. Car fully ins rt th xt nsion tub units all th way
into th stilt l gs until th larg sl v tabs snap and lock into th stilt
l g slots. Ch ck stilt op ration by adjusting stilts up and down.

IMPORTANT

D v lop a habit of insp cting your stilts b for ach days us . Mak
c rtain th ntir stilts ar fr of any sign of damag or xc ssiv w ar,
and that all nuts and bolts ar tight. Sp cial att ntion should b giv n to
th ntir strut tub ass mbli s and wing bolts in this r sp ct. K p all

Strap tightening sequence
Important-Wh n mounting your stilts, always attach l g straps first
b for f t. Wh n dismounting always unbuckl l g straps last, aft r
unbuckling foot straps.
S l ct a cl ar and l v l ar a away from doors, floor v nts, stairw lls,
windows, tc. With th h lp of a coll agu , strap on your stilts as not d
abov .
Stand with your l gs comfortably apart, coll ct your balanc ...and r lax.
If n d d, r -adjust th strut tub s and clamps until your stilts and l gs
ar straight and comfortabl .
Forward/rearward balance
Wh n standing r ct, your stilts should b in a n utral and v rtical
position. If th y hav a t nd ncy to l an forward or backward, mak th
following adjustm nts with th h lp of a coll agu , or aft r r moving
your stilts.
If stilts l an forward, loos n th tub clamps and rotat th l g bands
and strut tub s toward th r ar, and tight n clamps. This adjustm nt is
to insur prop r forward and backward balanc . If this adjustm nt
r quir s that th l g bands b rotat d to wh r it is uncomfortabl , th
mount d sho s should b r locat d, or th h l brack ts b adjust d in
th sam dir ction as th n d d rotation. Not : Do not b nd or "siz "
l g bands.

L ARNING TO WALK
IMPORTANT

do's and don'ts as you l arn to walk on and work with th m.

doors, floor v nts, stairw lls, windows, tc. With th h lp of a
coll agu , mount your stilts and tak slow d lib rat short st ps
whil k ping your stilts w ll apart. Mak c rtain that ach st p
compl t ly cl ars th floor, as you must n v r drag or shuffl your
f t. Whil assist d, walk slowly back and forth num rous tim s
making a U-turn to r v rs your dir ction. R p at walking back and
forth until you d v lop a "f l" for th stilts. Practic walking until
you f l s cur and ar abl to walk unassist d.
ADJUSTM NT FOR WALK
If you hav a t nd ncy to l an forward or backward whil walking,
you should adjust th action springs. Mak th following
adjustm nts aft r r moving your stilts. To corr ct for l aning forward
whil walking, tight n th upp r spring adjust r. To corr ct for
l aning backward whil walking, tight n th low r spring adjust r.
Never tighten adjusters more than 1/5 of the way down,
or approximately 15 turns, as it will limit the stilt action
and impose excess stresses on the components.
