1.4 Power Supply
The DTU model can be used in complex environment. Usually, the range of power
changes large. To adapt to complex application environment excellently and improve the
stability of system, the power supply adopts advanced power technology, and power
provided directly by external power supply transformer.
Notice:
When DTU changes information with base station, the instantaneous current changes
quickly and peak current is very large. So it requires higher quality of external power supply
transformer.
1.5 Detect The Network
Please connect the cable and ensure that it is correct, then connect antenna, put into a
valid SIM card and power the DTU, then the PWR indicator will light. If DTU connect to
network, the online indicator will flash. And it will normally light after connect to server. It
indicates that DTU works normally. When there is data transmission in user data interface,
the ACT lamp flashes.

inserted before powering up.
2. Configuration
There are two configuration modes for DTU: local configuration and remote
configuration.
2.1 Local Configuration
1. Connect your computer and DTU via DEBUG interface.
2. Run the configuration tool “LPLC_CFGTOOL.exe”.
3. Choose Local Configuration:
4. Set the port to which one is used to connect your computer and DTU. Then click
Open.

Annex III TCP Protocol
If DTU works in TCP mode, it will send a registered packet when connect server first
time. When there is no data transmitting with server during 60 seconds, DTU will send a
heartbeat packet to server to keep the connection.
The data format that DTU sends to server:
1. Default registered packet:

IP_ADD:IP address(HEX)
ETX:0x00, end mark of packet
2. Default registered respond packet:
All series of DTU do not respond it by default.
3. Default heartbeat packet:
All series of DTU’s default heartbeat packet’s content is FE.
4. Default heartbeat response packet:
All series of DTU do not respond it by default.
5. Default data format of DTU:
All series of DTU send data to server transparently.

12
Notice:
1. It suggests that fix the length of registered packet to 21 bytes if you use Caimore’s demo
software of data center and want to change the registered packet.
2. If FE is included in the data, we will take a conversion to escape it for the content of
heartbeat packet is FE. If you want to develop a data center software by yourself, please
consult our technical support stuff to get the conversion rule.
Annex IV UDP Protocol
If DTU works in UDP mode, it will send a registered packet to server at first
connection. When there is no data transmitting with server during 60 seconds, DTU will
send a heartbeat packet to server to keep the connection.
