The overvoltage protection device SP10 should be used in order to protect the
susceptible temperature sensors in or at the collector against induced overvol-
tages.
In the case of local thunderstorms, voltage peaks which could destroy the sensor
can be induced in the sensor cable. The protector diodes in the SP10 limit these
overvoltages to a value harmless to the sensor.
The best way to protect the sensor is to install this connecting box close to
the sensor. Because of the weather conditions, the SP10 is designed as a ro-
bust connecting box in a dripping water-protected housing which can be used
outdoors. Glands for the sensor cables at the bottom of the housing allow easy
installation.
